And, the end of today's work! One pretty warry vixen, with huge nasty spear, ready to combat anything that gets between her and a sale at Macys!

Big nasty spear is a good look. Great pose :)

didn't expect it, but was more enjoyable than Troopers 2 & 3. i guess SONY pictures haz their own in-house render s/w?

hair looked good, Carmen's hair didn't get wet in her shower scene.

"you apes wanna live forever" felt a pang of nostalgia when he said it. sigh

BIg studios use Arnold from Solid Angle a lot

    But needs a little something...
I got it! The outfit is not quite impractical enough, there would just barely be a little chafing. She needs some stiletto-heel knee-boots!

you mean like this person is wearing?

Hehe boots are made for stabbing  Niiice render, very spiffy :)

    ...very nice.

TY! It's a good satrt but it's hard to please people in here because they're used to Pixar-quality renders and amazingly lifelike characters...

    NOT!!!!!!!! :snake: :snake:

I look into the skies, the rain falls, dark
And your memory pulls at my soul, well
What I have left after you were gone
Even my tears are dry as dust.

The Sun shines into my room, but it
Can't kill the darkness that holds
My heart, like your arms, like your face calls
Me away from this pale empty space.

In this awful silence I dream of you
Gone so long, never forgotten, I wish
That I owned my soul, still
So I could sell it for you.

After all this time, I have learned that
Every moment I exist, I bleed into
My own sucking wound, and I know
    I love you forever.

    ::down: :down:

I'm OK, just,, demanding ghosts tonight,

    *hugs*

They send a crew of producers and engineers to your studio to integrate the renderer into your production pipeline for a particular project, they don' like standalones, although there are some third party plugins starting to get around ;)

Be careful with gallstones. I had them on-going for 6 years, but since I never fit the profile I was always told it was IBS. Finally a nurse did an ultrasound of the area and caught them while I was in the ER. Needless to say I saw a surgeon and was in surgery within the span of a day or two from the ER visit to have my gallbladder removed. My surgeon was surprised I was still alive with what mine were doing to my insides. Apparently every time I felt the pain, it was my body trying to pass a gallstone, which resulted in it getting stuck in some tubes, which could've killed me during any attack.

Having it removed was both a good and bad thing. The good: no more pain whatsoever. The bad: I gained weight because nothing caused me pain anymore. LOL

Yeah, I know; I do keep an eye on my situation.

...odd 4.6 question. Is there any way to duplicate (eg copy/paste) a prop. I have a wall section I would like to expand but it only loads as part of a complete set. I know I can unparent it but is there any way I can make a duplicate of just the wall segment without having to load another complete set and delete everything else?

There is a copy/past function but it looks more like it's for duplicating poses and surface maps.

...how? I don't see anything just titled "Instance" in the create menu. there's a "Node Instance" and "Node Instances" but nothing that says instance.

    ...how?

Select the object you want cloned in Scene tab.

    Head to "Create" menu.

    Pick New Node Instances.

Diddle with the new thing that just came up, and adjust its placement to your liking once you've decided how many items you want to have.

Try an instance. I forget exactly where it is in the menu, but I know it creates a clone of whatever. The only thing is, it is a clone, it will have the same texture and morphs. But if you just want to make a wall longer, that will work.

    ...OK that worked. Thank you.

In the meantime tried to find my copy of SitC for 4 Pro but think I installed it to the wrong location. Wish the tutorial included install instructions.

Does SitC do anything that you can't do with instancing? Just curious because though I haven't had a use for it yet I have an idea for a render that could use several generic background characters. If I can accomplish it with instancing - not sure I haven't tried - then I'll probably go that route but if there's an advantage to SitC maybe I'll add it to my wishlist for later.

Yes. An instance differs from a clone in several ways the most important of which is if you change a source object all the instances based upon it change as well, but changes to a source object won't affect any clones of it There are implementation specific workarounds and exceptions for pose and material handling, SITC provides methods for pose and material handling too.

Just took a half hour walk around the library. I hope I do not stink, but there is nothing I can do for now. Actually the walk was longer than half an hour.
