Coffee break! Geesh, huge line at the men's room.. meh..

Looks like some new glow shaders for DS are out.. will get on Payday. Need glow.

2-1/2 more hours of listening to the marketing staff pitching new product ideas to the engineering and management teams. 90%.. so what.. 10% interesting. 10% isn't enough to keep me awake. Snzzzzzzzzzz...

The coffee is horrid, too. Going to have to start bringing my own again. :blank:

    Back into it.. yecch. :blank:

What is a good way to massage your own shoulders?

Get a tennis ball... stand with your back to a wall (hopefully a wall with a fairly tough surface)... put ball between you and wall in the region of your back that needs massaging... slide up and down gently... doesn't work for the "tops" of the shoulders of course...

Okay that sounds great. I will add a tennis ball to my list of things to get.

I have another complaint. Rendering stuff in and around water is very time-consuming. Now consider that I have EIGHT mermaid-related products to do it for. At least I can do composites for the bundle pics. :p

...ouch. Yeah, that swimming pool pic I did took quite a while to render. All the reflection and refraction really chews up memory and processor resources.

    ...Wait!!! Genesis Mermaids? uh oh...

Woot, meeting out early! And I did something useful - I wrote The Shield-Maidens Tale!

Olaf and the Giant Chicken - Part 5 - The Shield-Maidens Tale

    "I was born to a shield-maiden proud
To play with a sword I was allowed
I swung and sliced at such a young age
That warriors feared my righteous rage
I grew up strong, and some say fair
With pale white skin, blue yes, blond hair
With a spear I could slay a wild boar
And still have strength to kill two more
My parents are proud, I've brought no shame
    To Vibeke Larsdottrers name."

"As I came of age I traveled far
    Wandered alone under stranger stars
Oh, sights I've seen, and things I've done
For hours I could sing of the wars I've won
The warriors heads that I did take
But even I can use a break
To restful village I did retreat
Soft bed, warm fire, good food to eat
But soon my heart, it was to sicken
As we were attacked by a giant chicken."

"One night, was dark, and quiet and still
In the air there came a sudden chill
A growing thudding like a giant herd
Or reindeer, I give you my word
The from outside a scream rang out
'By Odin!' did a warrior shout
I donned my leather and grabbed my spear
Ready for battle, I knew no fear
Some huts were on fire, men scrambled there
And I saw the thing in the burning air."

    "Taller than three warriors stacked
It roared and clucked as it attacked
Arrows bounced from it's iron hide
And not a one would lodge inside
The women screamed, the men they ran
All escaping as quick as they can
I saw it bite a man in two
Swallow the bits, it did not chew
It was a horrible, frightening scene
And the monster got me really mean."

"I shouted 'HO!' and waved my spear
Waiting for monster to draw near
It paused to eat a fallen foe
And snorted at me, to let me know
It had no fear of me at all
It roared, expecting me to fall
I shouted 'CHICKEN', a bit absurd
So then I flipped the thing, the bird
It screamed a scream that fell some trees
And clucking, it did charge at me!"

"Swiftly I grabbed me ready shield
Braced firm the spear and then I kneeled
    Shield before, and spear ahead
I really wanted the monster dead
I ducked, and and then, from between it's feet
I shoved my spear into its meat
The shaft it splintered from the mighty blow
And over my head the sucker did so
In the flames, I could see quite clear
A grievous wound, caused by my spear."

"I dove inside my hut to fetch
My sword to finish the wounded wretch
In the seconds it took, the thing had fled
Leaving a trail behind as it bled
To track it down and kill my foe
I could simply follow the bloody snow
So I tended the wounded, help douse the fire
To help my friends was my main desire
I then swore an oath, as my anger did quicken
To hunt, and catch, and slay that chicken!"

    Awww, thanks! :red: :red: :red:

I really need to buckle down and get some writing done. I'm full capable of blasting out hundreds of words, the kilometer-long pike was a biggie and the giant chicken will be easily twice as long! It's certainly not a lack of ability or skill... :-S

Now that I'm recovering from the antibiotic, my energy should improve and I'll see about getting more writing done! :cheese:

I enjoyed writing this part - it was a challenge to get it rhyming well enough to be proper, but still be intelligible.

I'll toast Vibeke's quest with a beer once I get home. :cheese:

I should get used to carrying my tablet PC with me, and writing during lunch. I can synch up at home with Google Drive easily enough, also makes for good backup.

Just 30 more minutes and I can go... grocery shop. :blank: Low on foodies..

    planets catch shadows, yes?

but how big does something have to be to cast a shadow on a planet from outside it's atmo? like 10 percent of planet's size? like death star size?

a magma planet wouldn't catch shadows, i imagine, has it's own ambient glow

....did you use one of 3dcheapskate's Space WorldBalls for the background?

...some nice choices there. Blondie's Rude Gestures is great fun.

I notice you have Paradox Pookling wonderful character. Make sure you also have the Mil Kids - Young Teens as they are required. The same if you also get Mama Pook.

It looks like you have more posts than I do, but we still do not know when the fifth box comes. Hopefully we can find out before any new forums can get installed.
The answer is apparently: "There is no fifth box."
Kinda like "There is no spoon." :)
