    Jack,

The problem is that there is NO WAY to know during the two week intro period whether a product is a $1.99 PC product or a $2.99 Value product at an intro price at $1.99.
    ...

    THIS!

    Agree

I might have missed it and am sorry if I have but this has been brought up several times and never really been addressed, would it be possible to do something about it please?

Now the subscription stuff is sorted, we'll now look into navigation and usability.. so we'll look into it, I can't say any more than that :)

Wouldn't smacking a distinctive 'VALUE!' icon onto the main promo image do the job?

I was a bit excited when I initially saw the email about the changes to the platinum club. I was very tempted to rejoin, as I was a long time member until the past year or so. But, then I went to the information page and saw the full details.. that you have to pay either 24 or 70 bucks to sign up again. Sure, the initial 30 bucks is gone, but it's only at a difference upfront of 6 bucks or so. I was happily thinking I could get back in my paying the single monthly fee, which would have actually sealed the deal for me. :( I don't know how many other people might have been put off by that, considering the ups and downs of the club since the site revamp. That's not an amount I want to invest up front. I would have preferred being able to go monthly right from the start.

Previously the initial fee was $30 and that was good only for the first month. Now you can sign up for $24 ($6 dollars cheaper) and that is good for 3 months. Once you are signed up you can switch your billing cycle to month to month. The reason we require an initial start-up commitment of 3 months is to prevent users from signing up for a single month and taking advantage of sales (for example the PC sale). The Platinum Club has to be sustainable, and this was one way to make it more affordable for new members (and former members who may want to rejoin) and still keep it sustainable.

I think there is something wrong when I try to pay the PlatinumClub via PayPal. I allways gets an error-message. PayPal says this is an redirection-error in the shopsystem. Can you please fi this.

So if I shelled out the 30 for this I and decided I did not like it, would I get a refund on the remaining time?

If someone were to sign up for only a month, and then buy a ton of 1.99 items DAZ is not losing money, they are still making money. I am talking about if someone were to buy 30+ dollars worth of PC and Value content. In that case DAZ is still making money. When I was new, I signed up and I immediately bought 130+ dollars worth of content right off the bat. I've spent a lot of money here at Daz on non PC items.

Toward the end of my membership, years later, the only thing I was paying for was the monthly club membership fee of 8 dollars a month. I either couldn't use or already owned similar content to what PC content was being released, and all the Daz Originals I wanted I already owned. The new style coupon which replaced the voucher was therefore useless to me as I couldn't use it on PA items anymore. The club wasn't worth maintaining for me, and I ended up dropping the PC in favor of Rendo's Prime membership.

Familiar with that feeling, my coupon would've been long gone if there were more Poser-also items I didn't already own or could find a use for. Please do consider having an option to use it on PA items -- even with a minimum purchase requirement of $10-$15 on such orders that would still make it worth more to me than it is now. At the moment I am struggling to find something to use it on before midnight Daz Time so as not to waste it. That never happened under the old voucher system.

(edited for clarity and bad grammar. )

I'm in the same boat. The PC has been pretty useless to me since they switched to the new store. Between all the Genesis stuff and no more using the vouchers on PA items, it's hard to find anything to spend the vouchers on. Plus the other inconveniences, like the vouchers not automatically applying any more, and having to use them all at once or lose the balance.

One thing I've been doing lately is to check the FastGrab category. There are a lot of older DAZ Originals there. If it's something I don't have yet and it's under $6, I'll use my voucher there. For example, today there's the Kids 4 bodysuit. I never bought it, because I really don't have a use for a skin tight bodysuit for young children. But if it was a matter of losing my voucher or getting something like that, I'd get it.

And yeah, count me in among those wanting to know which items are Value Category before they go up in price.

Well, for the princely sum of .27 cents I now own a hospital bed. Threw in the Aslan Court expansion pack so my bank & Paypal wouldn't charge me ridiculous fees for such a teensy little transaction, and it came to $2.40 Canadian. Not bad, for awhile there I thought I'd have to bite the bullet and either lose my first ever PC coupon or spend it on the one Genesis 2 outfit I really like but want to use on my Genesis 1 males. In Poser. Not gonna buy though, till I see if anyone's converted it successfully -- holding off on the clone stuff until payday, which for me is nearly 3 days away. Then, we'll see.

Like a number of other posters I am a Poser-only user and thus have found little use for my monthly PC coupon this past year except for the occasional older product found in FastGrab. While I welcome the changes in the new Platinum Club such as the waiving of the $30 fee, I still cannot see any reason to renew my membership when it expires this fall (after being a PC member ever since the club started in 2006 and a Daz member since 2002) because there are simply too few new products for Poser and most of those are not Daz Originals. Like the other Poser users, my spending during the past year or so has shifted from being very much at Daz to being almost all at Renderosity (especially their Prime Club) and to a lesser degree Runtime DNA, because those sites offer lots of new products that I can use in Poser. This anniversary sale has given me a good opportunity to clean out my Wish List and pick up all the Poser PC items I will conceivably need in the future, so I am afraid that there is no more reason to stay in the PC when my membership expires. It's a bit sad, after so many years of shopping at Daz, but they have adopted a business model that pretty much excludes me and other Poser-only users. Like another poster wrote, it would be nice if there were a new Victoria figure in a native Poser format, but I don't expect that to happen. I hope that the new Daz business model of focusing on Genesis works out for them, but this will have to happen without the income from those of us who have stuck with Poser (I have just upgraded to PoserPro 2014) and have no desire to spend time learning new software. So in October I will bid the Daz PC a sad farewell and expect to be spending a lot less time - and money - at Daz in the future.

    That's a really good idea.

Also, because the new PC members do not have an activation fee, the current and long term PC members could be given a coupon to compensate for the activation fee they did pay at the time of joining.
This does not have to be at the value of $30, but something to show they are appreciated.

Maybe, but given the last few days have seen numerous posts on how the monthly coupon 'isn't that great' as it can't be spent on PA items - I assume giving away an additional coupon will be met with similar comments.

Nothing is off the table, and we're very much reading the forums and will take the feedback into consideration as we move forward and develop the PC and it's perks :)

Thank you Kerya and Jack. I know understand how it works. Item has to be of 3.01 or up to 6.00 dollars to use coupon and not in the PC or Content Valued. I thought that I could just browse the Tab DAZ Originals and get stuff from there. :-)

The item you buy can be more than $6 also and you still get the benefit of your coupon.

FWIW...like gwp15I, I decided the PC didn't make sense for me and quit. DAZ offered me a deal: $29.95 for an annual membership, plus a $30 voucher. My first reaction was, "Yeah, just what I need, another voucher I can't use." Until I found out the voucher could be used on $1.99 PC items. That made it worth it to me, because there are still PC items I don't have. (Like many PC members, with the items always available at $1.99, I don't buy them until I need them.)

Maybe that particular change isn't feasible, but that's what the PC needs, IMO: a reason for DAZ's most loyal customers to stick around. We've already bought all the DAZ originals, so a DO-only voucher is of very limited use.

It was most probably a lucky mistake. Voucher of such amount shouldn't work on PC items.

I'm pretty sure if PC goes this route everybody will be very happy. And next month or six down the road PC will close down because it can't sustain itself with this sort of membership fees.

I have a lot of DOs but not all of them. Admittedly, I don't want all of them but there are still I'd like to have. And new are keeping coming. Some of them are even nice.
I spent my July coupon on new release DO Ashe, for example.

No, it wasn't a mistake. The reason I found out the voucher worked on PC items was that it was discussed here in the forums. It was not a mistake, but it was a special deal offered to only certain customers. Near as I could tell, long time PC members who had quit.

I'm pretty sure if PC goes this route everybody will be very happy. And next month or six down the road PC will close down because it can't sustain itself with this sort of membership fees.

Somehow, the PC managed to sustain itself for years while allowing vouchers to be used for 50% of the cost of PA items in the past.

I spent my July coupon on new release DO Ashe, for example.

Great, but that doesn't help us Poser-only users who do not buy Genesis products.

It does, however, suggest another solution: maybe DAZ could offer more DO items that might be of interest to Poser-only users. Even if they have to buy them from PAs.

I didn't mean PC voucher (usable on PA items) but rather that sort of sweet deal yearly renewal + handy coupon you got - I don't think that that sort of membership fee is sustainable. And I'd love PC voucher be usable on PA items too.

Um...props usually work in Poser just ok, right?

Another thing is, for example, I made a set of Generation 4 clothes and offer if to DAZ3D as DO for purpose of giving Poser users something to buy. If I made it M4, people who are mostly interested in V4 won't buy them. If I made it fantasy, people who use modern casual stuff won't buy it. If I made it V4 skimwear more people will buy it (according to a widely-used assumption) but there still will be people who won't touch stuff like that with 10' pole. So what sort of Poser clothes should I made to make everybody happy?

There's lots of stuff sold here that works fine in Poser without the dreaded DSON. That's why I still come here.

So what sort of Poser clothes should I made to make everybody happy?

I think that ship has probably sailed. DAZ doesn't want to sell V4 stuff any more, and I don't blame them. Genesis is where it's at for DS users. And Poser users themselves seem likely to move on to Dawn.

So what do I buy here? I love Stonemason's architecture sets. Jack's buildings. Lisa's plants (alas). Standalone figures that work in Poser, like 3D Universe's toon animals, stuff for other software (Ron's Photoshop filters, plants and terrains for Vue, etc). It's not all characters and clothing.

Poser users will move to Dawn providing Dawn has the support out of the gate and content prices are reasonably affordable.

Perks for long-time members would be a good thing, I agree, but I think it's unreasonable to say we should get the benefit of every pricing change that comes along years later. After all, the long-time members like us got a $30 voucher when we first joined up to offset the activation fee, and various PC bonus bundles over the years, that new members don't get. Some of us may have joined when the activation fee was waived for PC Anniversary.

I'm with fixmypcmike on that. While I'd love to have something for my years and years of PC membership as a some new perk It would be unreasonable for me to ask to refund $30 that I've paid 6 or 7 years ago. DAZ3D difference refund limit was always 30 days tops. Also when I joined I got a bunch of PC products for free and $30 voucher, so I'm all good here. Until recent couple of years renewal also was with $30 voucher so again, I don't see how my membership was lessened with that.

It would be nice to consider people who got annual membership or renewal within last 4 months though. Even giving them 1 (one) PC item from not new releases for free would be nice.
