Hey Jeanne, I'm still awaiting their response. You can't directly choose where to save, since LDP-R creates subfolders within a single folder, for easy access of each series of images (layers). However, if you set your main installation to a different location, that probably means it will save there. I really haven't tested!
Thank you, and have a great weekend as well! :)
Hum.. LDP-R is NOT creating subfolders within C:\Users\\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\Render Library on my system. When the render script stops, there are only the 8 files generated by the LDP-R render script in the Render Library folder.
Is there some trick to getting the automatic sub-folders created with the 8 files for each render automatically as shown in your two videos?
Edit: Also, the 8 render windows generated by LDP-R don't those themselves. Are they supposed to? if not, is there a way to render to "Image File" instead of "New Window"?
...reminder bots gone AWOL on me again, missed a couple pages.
So LDP-R is the replacement for the former LDP products and there will be no more just straight Daz Studio based LDP plugins, correct?
(hope I worded that right).

I'm not seeing the files in separate directories either. Everything is going into the Render library directory under DAZ3D\Studio. This is also why the icon .png's are getting created, Daz does that for new images added there so it can display them in the Render Library tab in DS.
Is there something we need to do to have it create these directories? It's getting old having to remember to copy out the current batch of files so I have them if I need them before I render a new batch.
If it worked with Corel Paintshop Pro...I would buy it in a heartbeat :-). I can't afford Adobe Photoshop and I've been a Paintshop Pro user for years. It works with layers and the last two versions even supports .abr brushes which means I can use Ron's stuff (yay)...It looks like a great product and very useful but I guess I'll have to pass for now (sigh)
...is that X10 ver5 and 6? I have X10Ver4.
So often I wanted to pick up on Deviney's tools but didn't because converting them is a pain in the bum.
I do agree, a PSP version would be nice as a lot of people use it. Would save the cost of purchasing PS Elements and having to configure things to work right.
I know we changed the folder destination just hours before launch, and that seems to be causing all kind of weird things, like icons creations and other weird stuff. I'll see if we can change this back to the original design. As far as rendered windows, that's correct LDP-R doesn't close them. As of now, there is no option to render to file. Will be included in next update.

That is the plan, LDP-R is a fresh new outside the box lighting solution, that greatly improves render / design speed over any other light set, or render engine available to DS. LDP1 / LDP2 are "outdated" and although they will work (LDP1 still works in DS 4.6), they are not as fast, nor do they give the same quality or control.

My apologies...I just doublechecked. I have X3, X4 and X5. I thought it was X4 where the use of .abr brushes started but it is X5. It was what sold me on upgrading right away instead of waiting until it was really cheap when the next version is about to be released
Thanks for additional feedback regarding this issue. The sub-folders should be created, I'll get this fixed right away. Also, choosing destination folder will be added to the next update.

...bugger, too broke to upgrade even at the special offer they are giving me.
I am leaping my two cents into this conversation...
I am one of those that was disappointed about a lack of upgrade.
BUT...
I went ahead and bought anyway. I was pretty sure the product would be worth the investment. I also took into consideration the amount of work that probably went into the development. That made me decide it was worth while.
I also wanted to add that over the past year or two I have purchased way too many of Dreamlight's products. I've watched so many of the training classes that I feel like I can hear your voice saying half of these posts.
You know, I imagine his voice when I read the posts too!
I bought LDP-R and am somewhat distressed because I get errors when I run the PS macro to merge the layers. I use CS2 and CS5-Extended and it seems to not work either way. Don't get me wrong, I know Photoshop well enough to do this manually, but it should still work out of the box.
The over-bright images when rendered I can live with since the idea is to render separately and merge. But I got errors when I changed the dome images too.
Inches away from a refund. This is an expensive piece of kit to be having so many errors, and it's a damn shame because respected people from here recommended LDP-R as soon as it was seen, because they have much love for the original LDP.

I would say to give it a week before you go for a refund.
I have a funny feeling the aspects of the build were "out of sync" when it was released. Other threads have led me to believe that there were modifications just before release that might not have made it into the build.
I use CS3 and the Photoshop actions worked no problem. I did read thru the Action scripts and they are pretty complicated. I was surprised that they worked at all, to be honest.
That's called 3D overload... Love it, thanks for your feedback! :)

All bugs being squashed as we speak! :)

Looking forward to seeing the results.
Btw, are you on a MAC or WIN?
Looking forward to seeing the results.
Dreamlight, any news on an upgrade price?
Well, DAZ are handling this all together, and there are no news at this time.
So do we get a free update to the Light Dome Pro that doesn't work properly?
Yes, we're re-designing it right now.
Sorry, I meant the multi-layered "raw" image (basically what's left after you run the combine Photoshop action).
Thanks Artini. :) If you render anything else, could you possibly post the render you get right after you render with LDP-R and combine it all with the action? Thanks again.
Sorry for the late response, but here it is a render of Urban Sprawl 2 with LDP-R and combined it all with the action.
And then how it looks without LDP-R rendering layers (preview) ...
... with the LDP-R default action
... with the LDP-R Cold action
... and then with the LDP-R Miami action.
Great, thanks for the comparison renders!
It would be good to post all feedback ideas / images in one thread. Let's try posting here instead:
