Sparkle does indeed love treats. She particularly likes beef bones and that compressed yak cheese. I almost think the yak cheese is more durable than the bones. She will chew a piece for days. She also is fond of jam thumprint cookies. Grandma gives her a bite now and then, from the cookie jar. She also likes apples, and bring her own harvest from my little orchard inside to play and chew on.

But don't worry. I am vigilant about brushing her teeth. She's got a mouth full of gorgeous teeth, and I keep them brushed quite well. I don't want to have to have her ever need a dental extraction, as she is sensativie to anethsia and almost didn't survive being fixed because of this.

I had to call animal control about a couple of dogs that the neighbors have been allowing to run loose and threaten people (and whose knows what else when people ain't looking) and they had to send a animal control agent. He had to use a tranquilizer dart to subdue the threatening dog. He said he's had to get one of them multiple times. It bloodied the dog's ribside a little but the dog remained conscious while the officer captured the dog. It's only a $25 fine in this place for people to let their dogs run loose but if I skip one turn with my lawn mowing it watch my neighbors throw a hissy fit and the penalty fee is much higher, even though no one would be in danger like from dogs wandering loose.

I live next to a nature preserve and Coyotes and mountain lions, and even large birds can attack dogs. We have some particularly nasty turkeys.

Coyotes in particular lure dogs by pretending to play with them, and once they have them away from their owners will attack and eat them. I am not a fan.

Needless to say Sparkle stays in her yard, and only goes off leash at the dog park with me watching.  Shes a small dog of 14 lbs, and most dogs hearbaouts are bigger.

Sorry about your vicious encounters with dogs. What state do you live in?

Accentus struck me as being a very useful 3d environment. It was also relatively easy to render. This took 12 minutes. I envision this as being a place where Alphas go to retreat with their companions away from prying eyes. Boyd has never taken Owen on retreat, but there is a lot of outside speculation of what they are like, as outsiders are not allowed and rumors abound. The reality is they are rather tame. Sort of a spa/counseling center/ vacation/romantic getaway, but a place where brains can be themselves.  The HDRI I used here is Green Hills.

    Pugsley the Stylized Pug

I confess I wanted this for some time. But it is a bit stylized and not my usual thing. But... He is so cute, I have no regrets. He renders quickly as well. The antlers are a great extra!

Matias HD  came with a recent deal, so yeah, of course I had to buy him. He's a nice basic, with excellent skin, and a nice figure. He rendered quickly. He comes with extra eye colors, brow options, gens and 3delight shaaders.

Despair Poses for Genesis 8 Male

20 poses featuring painful suffering for Genesis 8 male.

Worth checking out if you are looking to make poor G8M suffer. (heck, I'd suffer too though if my fingers were bent at the angle in the first picture.)

There was some great posing here, especially with the ones showing G8M curled up in the ball.  There were a couple that are going to be hard to find a use for, as G8M is draping himself creatively over different kinds of boxes,  so it might be challenging to find a prop that matched. Nevertheless I have a fondness for poses outside the norm, and these are unusual enough to catch my interest.

That's one of the breeds of dogs my mom was given that she didn't want. she was a few times breaking up fights between neighbor dogs that came into her yard to attack her pet dogs. Another reason why I won't keep dogs. No one likes to see their mother bitten for taking good care of a pet dog she never asked for and didn't want.

There were coyotes that make a blood curdling baying sounds as they run the ridge hunting where she lived in the forests but not where I live in this small town. They are a coyote/wolf/dog mongrel mix but they look 100% coyote. They are new to the area having expanded their range east. Once, when I 1st moved back to the area I tried to catch a cute puppy that looked like a baby red fox. I was within 2' of it when it's mother called it back. I was shocked to find out I had almost caught a coyote pup. Animal control came out though and culled the entire coyote pack as the entire hollow where my mom lived is a valley that a well known cattle family grazes their cattle on and the coyote pack of course was not compatible with a idyllic life of peaceful grazing luxury those cattle were enjoying.

As far a stylization goes, pugs are so out there in real life I sometimes forget 3DU's pug is stylized.

I have Mathias HD too. I got him and the Luke HD character but only because buying them massively reduced the price of what I was really wanting to buy - the D.Master Autoface Enhancer. I have to say I was disappointed in both characters a bit. Not tremendously but their ad copy wasn't really representing very well the actual qualities of the characters. It's pretty common that the ad copy for characters are lit as if the police have set flood spotlights searching after a criminal so when one renders them in normal daylight they look entirely like different characters. They are OK but indicative of why I don't often buy a single character like those. If they aren't included with a pro bundle, I tend to go for the 8 in one shape bundles or a characters with comprehensive material sets like Maxx HD.

What I really need is to buy Altern8 and then I'll have all these nuances of lighting available at a single click. Do I need Mathias to look like he's in midday sun? Use an Altern preset to fake part of the lighting. Do I need Mathias to look like he's outside in a big city a night? Use another Altern 8 preset to cheat fake the lighting. ...

Kio HD and Hair for Genesis 8 Male

On the subject of new male releases today we have Kio HD and Hair. I must say, this is a nice looking character. He might work well for those looking for a slighly manga looking character, and he has the build of an swimsuit model.  The hair is a nice bonus, and comes in several colors. The PA also thoughtfully made full gen presents, not just textures, so it is easy to apply elements, without hunting the anatomy folder. Nice touch. I like him, this is a nice character with a different look and wide appeal.

I own alternate and use it on Owen. For some reason, it does this weird thing to Boyd's under eye that looks sort of reddish. It has to do with the shape of boyd's eyes which have a slighly puffy look under his eyes. For some reason, alternate makes it red, and then he looks like he's battling an eye infection. I like Boyd's skin but it does need some transparency. It is a bit flat. I sometimes use alternate, in images where Boyd's face is more obscurred.

Interesting body, very much like the one I am going for with my Snape. It will probably get me half the way if I add him to the gene pool so might pick him up. Along with the soon-coming G3M to G8M character converter I just read about, so I can move the G3 Sevvie which I transferred from good ol' Mike 4 via GenX2 over to G8. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long.

Which bikini is he wearing? Looks perfect for a certain wizard on vacation in Magical Hawaii. wink

One of my sisters rescues pugs. They are all dear sweet dogs. I am definitely a dog person, as I love all dogs. I like cats as well, but since I could only have one, I rescued a dog.

That is Maxx’s swimsuit. I personally think that is the best male swimwear in the store. Plus you get a thong as well.

  • ByrdieByrdie Posts: 1,783

Wishlisted and watching for it to go on sale. A thong, eh? Would it be TOS-friendly around here? I had issues last time I posted a guy in a thong and had to fix it because a shadow looked like hair where it's a no-no, but the guy had no body hair at all! So I'm never sure what the limit is with swimsuits on males. Same bikini on Vicky would maybe pass, unless it made the same questionable shadow.

The thong is really nice. I think the bikini is probably cheeky enough and the posterior of the thong  would probably be a no no here. But deviantart? Seen it a bunch of times.

The boys don’t tend to wear thongs.

Owen pretty much feels no one wants to see him in a thong and he’s more of a boxer-brief guy. The bikini Boyd likes is tight enough. Boyd for his part would just rather go naked if he’s going to go that skimpy. But he disagrees with Owen that no one wants to see him wear a thong.

To attest to that, Boyd did buy Owen a thong in last year’s Christmas pic. As well as a new car.

Owen thinks no one wants to see him in a thong?! Has that boy looked in a mirror lately? On the other hand, Boyd would have to beat poachers off round the clock so maybe it's best he doesn't wear one. Otherwise, they'd probably get nothing done. Well, maybe one thing. wink

    Definitely saving to buy Maxx.

It is unusual for Owen to be shy. He is not generally self concious. That will likely be a topic Boyd will have to explore at some point.wink Owen is a city boy though.

MAXX is good value, you get a hair, two swimsuits, and facial hair, in addition to a great skin and fun shape. What's not to like?

Nah, it's always been that way. Better bring an extra ice bucket or ten if you're gonna hang out in this thread. laugh

@ Serene: Just downloaded some of your freebie poses. Love 'em, they convert so well to G3M. But the expressions don't go right, only on G8M do they work. Any particular reason why that is? I thought much of G3 & G8 were alike enough for expressions to be compatible. :head scratch: Been awhile, maybe I'm mis-remembering and doing it all wrong.

  • HylasHylas Posts: 5,026

I thought expressions were one of the main differences between G3 and G8?

  • ByrdieByrdie Posts: 1,783

I'm not 100% sure on that as I've seen some mention of certain expressions being interchangeable with either figure. Unless maybe it's the G3 expressions that are more likely to work on G8 than the other way around. In which case I am wrong and should maybe go with G8.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,654

    I'm honesly not sure. frown

I don't tend to try to use poses for g8 on g3. There are converters I think that you can use... To make it happen.

Are you trying to use the freebie expression pack? That might not work at all.... I am afraid. It does use a lot of dials specific to G8M.

  • ByrdieByrdie Posts: 1,783

Yeah, I have a pose converter that does a pretty good job on most poses though a few need adjustments. It's the expressions I'm talking about that don't always go so well when used on a G3 instead of a G8. But it's not just yours, many of the Daz O and PA packs are the same way. Was hoping for better results but it looks like some of the morphs that are in G8's face are not in G3's. Ah well, G8 looks so much better.

I don't think it's just the morphs, although there's that. (Most of the Daz-O expression morphs are HD, and most of the ones for G3 aren't; because the actual morph names are different, presets can't find the right thing to hook into to work.) As I recall, the face is actually structured a bit differently -- either more bones or renamed bones or something like that. G3 expressions can work -- incompletely -- on G8, but G8 expressions frequently don't have enough to work with to work on G3.

Everything from the textures to the lighting to the big slabs of diagonal fence perfectly matching the slant of his head- makes one gorgeous picture!

That is exactly what I called this image! CowBoyd. It had to be done! Thanks for confirming the logic of that!
