That is exactly what I called this image! CowBoyd. It had to be done! Thanks for confirming the logic of that!

    Some things are inevitable ;)

On the subject of women's items being kitbashed for the men, here, I kitbashed Technophilia Retro Gynoids-V3 Rock it, with, Sci-Fi Pinup outfit for Genesis 8 females.

The Rock-it is an old poser item. I recolored it with silver shaders. and iray-ized it. Yes, it comes with a saddle.

there is an included 'flame' Which looks like the picture below. I had added an iray fire shader to it but it did not glow enough. so I did some photoshop magic. Out of the box it looks like a giant lightbulb.

On the subject of male releases, here we have DZheng's newest release: DZ G8M UnderGear Set 3. Owen is wearing textures made by Anagord. I really like the 'double strap' on the shirt and underwear.

Here is Gabor. So far, I like him best of the Diego line. He looks realistic and nice looking. The eyerbows do seem a touch short on the outer edge though.

Diego 8 is a nice enough figure. He renders quickly, and the skin is particularly nice. I didn't buy the HD- it was too pricy, but the main figure loads well enough without him.

If I could change something bout him- I'd tone those Arched brows down. If you hold your thumb over the lower half of his face, the top half of his face, could easily be part of the female Gen 8 lineup.

On the subject of men's clothing Latin Dancer by Nikisatez is very nice. It would look nice as a male ice skating costume if latin dancing is not in the cards for your Genesis 8 Male. https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-latin-dancer-outfit-for-genesis-8-males

I love the clean lines of this, and that nice sharp little collar. This is an excellent product.

The dforce Caballero otufit is another nice product. This one is by Mada and Ozichick.

Again, we have crisp lines of collar, and cuffs, a very stylish hat, and jeans. I am super pleased by this set as we all know Boyd likes to dress as a a cowboy now and then- This will make it much easier. Kudos for putting such a nice outfit  together.

He's sort of a de-caricaturized version of Ollie 8 in my eye. Someone else said he was similar to Leo 7 and comparing I guess that's true too.

Oh, Boyd reminds me of when I lived in Fort Worth, Texas if you went out on Friday or Saturday, I forget which, maybe both, you could see the guys & gals dressed to the nines in a sort of Texas Cowboy version of a tux with string bow-tie and properly turned some weird way into a properly formal sort of Western Cowboy Tux. The gals were much less surprising, it was sort of a very simplified 'Southern Belle' dress (you know the sort a lot of girls in Southeast US wear to their senior prom) only with the bell part of the dress basically turned into a regular, if fancy dress. You could also see them wearing stylistic variations of very colorful and geometrically patterned clothing like you have on Boyd.

I'll have to see if I can find a images of that style. I've not seen it outside of Texas. It's a popular style with all Texans of that that go to places like Billy Bob's and other such socializing bars although some for in more informal clothing too. After all, Billy Bob has mechanical bulls & live longhorns on the premises so it's really not that formal of a place.  It's been a long time since I been there, almost 26 years, though. Billy Bobs and many other places in the Tarrant County area have many longhorns on cattle grazing areas.

Nonesuch00 That sounds very interesting. I really like that outfit. I don’t think I’ve seen a mechanical bull for sale here, maybe sometime Owen and Boyd will have to go to a western bar.

I definitely have a mechanical bull, although I can’t seem to find it in the store right now. It was offered as a freebie at some point.

Here is: dForce Street Smarts Outfit for Genesis 8 Male(S). Before dforce and after.  This is a set that requires dforce to fit properly, as otherwise, the socks have a gap at the top, and so does the shirt.

This set would be considered ganger wear where I live. But my issue with it, is the shirt should be ribbed and  have stiching around the neck, armholes and hem, and the socks need texture. The shirt has a very strange texture and the socks look like support stockings to me. (I wear them daily for work and they look exackly like this). Hey, maybe he's just more street smarts than you might think. All day on the street, should require support stockings. =-)

I don't love the set. The lack of textures, and the requirement to dforce it, means, I probably won't be using it much. Plus, I have a lot of long shorts and tennies sets already. The scarf for the hair, may come in handy though.

I have that same mechanical bull. I first saw a mechanical bull on advertising for the movie 'Urban Cowboy'. While I had no interest in the movie and didn't go see it...or maybe I did see that movie but if I did I don't remember a single minute of it. My kind of movie then, boring. I can remember seeing some movie and I remember the music was good but I only remember being outside in St Augustine afterwards and roaches flying out of the trees towards us after popcorn that was dropped on the ground as we laughed and screamed at them. The album to that movie is truly awesome .

Billy Bob's has big great cheddar-bacon burger and french fries, although I'm sure is costs more than $5 now

Here is: dForce Western Pancho for Genesis 8 Males. Daz Originals Anna Benjamin Nikisatez

This is a great looking dForce required set. The pancho absolutely requires dforce since it loads as a flat plane. The initial texture is black on black, which for me, made the details hard to see, although it looked nice, so I switched to one of the expansion colors. I like the brown weave Pancho a lot. Like most of the sets, its hard to fit hair under the hat, so I do a spot render of the hair poking through the hat, and just erase it out, so I can at least have the visible hair match his existing hairstyle.

Yeah, the mechanical bull! It was one of the Advent calendar freebies, I think? Wow, I really have to subject some poor character to a ride on that. laugh

The Street Smarts Outfit looks goofy as hell. Baggy jeans don't fall like that at all and they're textured differently, too.

(I also never saw anybody who dresses like that and that belt looks like it's time-travelled from 2003. But that might just be me not being familiar with whatever subculture this represents.)

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,654

There are Mexican gangs who dress kind of like this in my area. They tend to wear oversized t-shirts though, baggy pants and shorts, the socks are shorter. I can't say this is a good representation of the look. The clothing needs to be baggier.

Yeah, this isn't my favorite outfit. I can't think when I will ever use it.

Boyd has the longest hair, so he gets to be "the girl" despite being the taller one? laugh

Oh, but nooooo, don't let the doggo eat rubbish! And that girl inspecting her sunburn... x) This is great!

When I use Male Female poses I tend to use the 'female pose' on Owen, because he's shorter...

I decided this time, that wasn't fair and, so decided to switch them out, and give Owen the guy pose. This caused me to re-render it several times because the female pose was really designed for a shorter person and Owen was kind of peeking around the Mountain that is Boyd. laugh

So, I have been messing around with dforce-ready clothing, and I find they aren't doing as well as I would like with action poses. Is there something I'm missing here? Shouldn't his shirt hang open instead of clinging to the abs like this?

It's that ab-defining glue he's been using! But yeah, in the real world his shirt would either hang down beside his right arm (if that's a yoga pose), or flare out behind him (if he's in the middle of a parkour manouver). There are lots of settings you can mess with in the Simulation tab, but I have very little idea what most of them actually do.

Here we tried a second Parkour move. This looks a bit better, because the ab-cling isn't so noticable. I love in particular how Boyd's right sandal is coming off. Love that about the Poolside Oahu outfit.
