Beautiful. I like the ballet one especially.

I'm going to do an update that adds a "Use Torso UV" option to the ball joints themselves. We didn't anticipate so many people would want to use them with other textures., and the lower back area is similar enough on all the major UVs.

Yay! Really looking forward to that update. It can be touch and go trying to match them manually with different lighting, etc. I was having colors look one way in the viewport, but come out a different color in the render.

@JimZombie: I understand. Making the right decision financially can be hard, and I support you in that. Thanks though. ;)

Oops, I blinked and bought it. There were a couple of things that came along and together they defeated my willpower. No renders yet though :/ Thanks for the awesome.

Has there been an update yet? I don't know if I should install or wait for the update, cause I am itching to use this.

Not yet. If it doesn't go up today I'll provide stopgap links.

Cool renders in this thread. I bought the ball joint doll this weekend but haven't got a render ready to post yet.

Looks like the testing staff are still swamped. Here are the updates for the Torso UV'd ball joints, which will load separately from the others in your content library (you will see new icons).

Thank you, banditcameraman. I used Reality/Lux. The setup was a warm HDRI and a single flat mesh light at an angle that prevented any wall shadows. Very simple setup, which works best with Reality and Octane.

Not sure what I was thinking of when I put this scene together! Just having fun, I guess. :)

That's really good. And not a wee bit creepy! :)
I've used the BJD in a recent render, but it has the role of an understudy and as I was rather happy with it I'm planning on doing a zoom-in on it :)

Beautiful renders all! Not gonna post mine here 'cause I only used the BJD eyes and eyebrows, but they were perfect for what I was doing, especially the eyebrow piece since I was using a shader for the skin. Thanks guys!

Hee hee. Anthro-real Kermit and Piggy.

I'm glad that you did find them of use, though!

And daveleitz68, that's very interesting. It came out very painterly! Is that a filter?

    @ SickleYield,

It is kind of like a filter, yes. It involves autopainting and multiple layers with adjustments. I did some minor manual touch ups here and there, too. I imagine similar results could be had in Photoshop. The thing I like with Painter is the unpredictable results that come from simulating natural media.

Freaky in a Dario Argento/Mario Bava kind of way with the colors.

Yes! The plastic turned out very real-looking there. Although I kind of feel like you should be able to see those bumpy leg seams. Maybe that's only on the cheap knockoff barbies. :D

Finally got a render. This one was done in LightWave 11. Been on a GI binge for a couple of months when I get the time to render - decided to do myself a favour and go to a program where it is much quicker and easier to get sorted. Love the doll. It will be everywhere!

I'm blanking on what GI is? It looks very cool though!
