oh I bought myself a Christmas Present
a Nikon D3200 single lens reflex camera which is 24MP
still want a macro, wide angle and fish eye lens'es though.

not used a SLR for 30 years, used to look for bugs and stuff and do closeups! and had to wind film onto a spool in a wardrobe to put in a developing tank then lock everyone out the laundry at night so I could use my enlarger with all the windows covered and a yellow light getting developer and fixer all over Mums laundry troughs so she whinged about the smell.
is easy now, can put my SD card in my computer or a kiosk at mall.
24MP maybe I can do really BIG bugs and creepy crawlys with added Daz humanoid victims!!!

I haven't cranked up my enlarger in years, but I still have my red light plugged in upstairs. I got into doing my own back when my daughter was in middle school and I helped with the yearbook.

a thought occurred to me why my grandmoms never wrote their recipes or anything down, they probably couldn't read.

my italian grandma was a seamstress her whole life.

my hungarian grandmother was a stay at home grandma.
can't imagine how they got along, my irish grandpa was a drinker, so they said.

irish, hungarian, and italian, all met up in Greenpoint. Brooklyn :)

I had a photography business back in the mid 80's to about 92. I did a lot of weddings, and used a pro lab. But I did some things in the darkroom myself. I shot the bridal portraits for the newspaper in color, then made B&W prints from it and also sold some color enlargements. There was a rental lab that I went to. You could rent a darkroom by the hour, or they had a club that got you so many hours of darkroom and for color prints they had a machine. You just went into the room, closed the door, and fed the exposed paper into the machine, waited until it completely fed in, and then left. Ten minutes later (or thereabouts) the print would come out the other side.

I still have my cameras, but they are probably all in ill repair. I have two Canon A1 bodies and some lenses, and a Hasselblad C500, and a Lumedyne flash system with a couple mini batteries. I used that for the weddings. I did some portraits and some model shoots, too. I used White Lightning flash systems for that, in my apartement. I even rented a 4x5 view camera once and did some studio type shots. I enlarged those to 16x20 and they were still incredibly sharp. It's hard to even find film these days. I have some left, refrigerated, but I wouldn't know where to bring it to be developed anymore. I certainly wouldn't want to go all the way to Providence, RI to do that. I'd love to get that nice Hasselblad digital camera, but it costs more than my 2003 Camry XLE cost! :bug:

Oh so true. We think the Actual files have been fixed, or are in the process of being fixed., and the promos should follow suit sometime ...in the not too distant future. They are aware anyway.

In the process of finding and uploading some of the older Carrara-Era images of mine I still like, touching them up with some postwork when needed.
http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/16520 Created a new sub-folder for more fantasy-ish stuff. Dinos and dragons that are doing magic-y like stuff will go here instead of in Creatures. Probably should have put that crystal MilDragon in this one hey :)
But I don't think you can move uploads to different folders after you submit it can you? D:

Dragons just lazing about basking in the sun or being in a forest or maybeh lying on a couch in a modern setting - Creatures
Dragons being all magical and stuff - Fantasy

Same goes for the dinosaurs :)
http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/16521 And stuff that doesn't fit in elsewhere. That isn't abstract art. ^^

Mm I remember that image~ Was done in an old PC Forum thread where you picked 3 or 4 of your runtime purchases at random (Random.org list randomizer is what I used) and HAD to use at least those three/four items in a render. YOu could use whatever else you wanted, but those HAD to be in there. Sparked creative thinking I believe :) I should try it again~ Get me 3Ding again!

was 43C day before yesterday (109F my convertor says)
    44C yesterday,
now at 1am still 35 so thought I better dig out the fan from the spare room in case it got hot today (morning)
power likely to go off though, they do load sharing when everyone turns their aircons on.
I might even put mine on a bit.

..38° here now (on that other temperature scale) doesn't feel very warm. More like break out the space heater time where I am.

...yeah, digital imaging was the death knell for "real" photography. I still have my old Ricoh with a bunch of different lenses, and like you mention, it's hard to find film these days. I used to use high speed ektachrome as well as super high speed Tri X Pan for action and available light shots. Now the best you can find is Fuji 200 ASA.

Was in a second hand store recently and found a lovely old Kodak Brownie box camera. Had one when I was a kid. Unfortunately 620 (or even 120 which you had to hand spool) film is no longer available. Sad. Would love to take some "real" old school photos rather than create them in PSP.
