Welcome to the Forbidden Zone!
Your task this month is to enter the Forbidden Zone - a strangely desirable place - and create a render of the scene you encounter.
Lots of places are called "forbidden." Famous references include the forbidden zone in Planet of the Apes, the Forbidden City in Beijing, and the movie Forbidden Planet.
However, your assignment is not about showing a place, but to instead show a forbidden act. A classic example is the eating of forbidden fruit in garden of Eden. Or, the forbidden love of Romeo and Juliet. Several other examples are illustrated in the next post.
The Varieties of Forbidden Experience
The act of doing something "forbidden" can be illustrated in a lot of different ways. It may mean showing someone breaking a religious or secular law, or violating a social or moral taboo.
Further, there are often three phases to a forbidden act: before, during, and after. Using a bank robbery as an example, you can show 1) the crooks plotting their robbery, 2) executing the robbery, and 3) the consequence of their actions (getaway/jail time/death). Or, you can do all three! You are able to enter up to three renders.
Are forbidden acts always foolish or bad? No. For instance, sometimes there are unjust laws or rigid ideas that cry out to be challenged. Heretics who challenged such laws include, Gandhi, Rosa Parks, and the unknown rebel (who stood in front of the tanks) at the 1989 Tiananmen Square Protests.
But such acts of heroism are not always rewarded. Joan of Arc and Socrates both died while visiting the Forbidden Zone. Galileo survived. Life is not always fair, especially in the Forbidden Zone.
Forbidden Rules
1. Up to 3 renders can be entered. However, you can post as many WIP renders as you like, and decide which 3 to enter near the end.
2. Images must be new (previously unpublished).
3. Images must be "mostly" set up in Carrara.
4. While postwork is allowed, it must not be the dominant part of the image. Posting images of before and after postwork is encouraged.
5. At least one WIP (work in progress) image of the final Carrara setup must be posted to the WIP thread.
6. Voters will determine first, second, third, and forth place.
7. First place will be determined by the total number of votes for all renders submitted. Second, third, and forth place will be decided by the number of votes for a single image. You can only win one Daz prize.
7. The first place winner qualifies to become the next Carrara Challenge host, and sets the theme and rules for the next competition. But should the winner decline this honor, other high finishers will be given the opportunity to step forward and fill the role.

As per usual, over and beyond the call of duty!
used Lorenzo and Loretta in this one as well as the Poser chicken and a building I modified and retextured, and not to mention some vehicles props and haybales I modeled and some other 3du props and also DZFire props.

The Strike
I did this render a few weeks ago. Then I saw Diomede use the same ship in an NPR render. Great minds.
The vessel lurking is the Sci Fi Space Ship from David Brinnen and ForbiddenWhispers. Seemed appropriate. :)
The other ship is the Antares from Petipet. All these folks do high quality work.
Carrara content/processes include clouds, flame, text, Mars, the Moon, and GMIC. The background star field is a freebie star dome provided by Dart. Unfortunately, I can't remember where he posted it. Edit - found it.
Also forgot - no postwork.
