I also have had problems with the Carrara products that I do load in the C drive showing up in the browser. It's kind of a mystery to me how to add stuff. Using DIM, some of Dart's products went right in, but other vendor products went to obscure locations, and were hard to find.
Instal all your Carrara products in the Carrara folder
then most times you will have to add them manually by browsing to the file location using the add folder tab.
also, you can find not only scene files but also lots of other goodies under objects, shaders, lights, trees and all.. but you need to add them under the corresponding tab browser ..
ie.. scenes - objects - shaders - misc
there is a heap of stuff you will find adding manually... which unfortunately Carrara doesn't do automagically for you.
Dunno as I have every HDR file on my computer copied to a panorama folder on an external for every application, I simply searched *.HDR and copied them all and the Yosemite ones are in there with all the others including ones from Hitfilm, Reality, Octane and other apps.
I just browse there when I want a HDR
I also have a program I installed from Sourceforge that shows them and nearly every other image format as thumbnails, was a lucky bonus as exr files were what were annoying me and I wanted to see but it did the HDR ones too.
I appreciate you guys trying to help. Unfortunately...
I cannot load the Yosemite product file into Carrara because I don't have the room on my C drive. So to get around that, I put the files elsewhere, and attempted to load them via scene>background>HDRI. It doesn't work, because none of the Yosemite files have .hdr or .hdri in the suffix. Instead, they have .cbr (Carrara version) or .tiff (Daz version). Changing the suffix doesn't work either.
I have to assume that you guys are NOT using the scene>background>hdri pathway. It usually works perfectly for me, but not on this product.
This must be some kind of special HDRI. If I add the file into the browser, nothing shows up in it. It is blank.
I will probably have to wait for a better machine to use this product, and that is on me. Thanks for trying.
Odd I definitely have Yosemite files with HDR too, did you look in runtime textures DimensionTheory?
You've done it again, Wendy. I realized that I hadn't followed EVERY fille down to the bottom. Yes, there were hdr files, and they work! Not easy to navigate when they are in Carrara, but that's just a quibble.
the trick to using ravenskull barlow house in carrara is to delete the .mtl files in the geometry folder.
there was a trick to bringing the dress into the scene, dragging it in, the conform made the dress pop like a foot in front of Steph.
i tried the load clothes button, doing it that way the dress loaded where it should be.
other trick i tried, put a cube around the set to contain the raytrace bounces and idl calcs. (to infinity and beyond)
to put more light on the phoenix feathers i added a dedicated bulb to the bird, light only bird, no shadows.
Love the camera angle, Misty. Very unusual. Great title as well. :)
Also great to see a prop and artist completely unfamiliar to me. Awesome textures.
Is she an ethereal entity, and floating? She appears to have no feet. :)
thanks.
tried many angles and framing
ravenskull is haunted, she a ghost was happy to find the floor train style dress had a couple of faux starts with it, dunno why sometimes the outfit hovers in front of the figure on conforming
Peeping George is going to get severe punishment if he is caught. All of the versions of your sphere entry are great. What I like about the most recent is seeing the details of the tattoos on the heroine, but then lose some of the detail of the creature. Always hard to choose, but the effects of each are spectacular.
Namtar, you ARE on fire! Great 2nd and 3rd entries. On the dragon, I like the hot version the best.
Shlomi, looking forward to seeing the finished version!
ed3d, I will open the voting on Wednesday whenever I get around to it. :) Tomorrow (Tues) is the last FULL day to enter.
HW, hope you can enter some more renders, but for sure enter the Freak render.
Really missing seeing work from Vyusur and evilproducer.
Edit - just before falling asleep last night, I realized that it sounded like those were the only artists I missed seeing. Not even close. Others include PhilW, desertdude, Jonstark, Dustrider - the list could get really huge, so I will stop now while I am behind. :)
Namtar3D - The dragon images are vibrant and exciting. Well done. Thank you so much for the gold coin shader. I made a leprechaun morph, and I think the little troublemaker needs a pot of gold coins!
Bunyip - thanks for the nice comment on the brain render. .
Hope we see a few more entries before the close, but I think we have another wonderfull field already. Inspirational theme, UB.

bit more info....
Yosemete ( did I spell that right? ) HDR files are found in
Cararra/Presets/Textures/DimensionTheory/HDR Pro-Sets/Yosemite

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\textures\DimensionTheory\HDRProSets\Yosemite has hdr files
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sagethumbs/
it doesn't like the tif think 2ff OK though and the big hdr ones too much for it

Many thanks.
Not so forbidden
I always instal Carrara files manually ... so they don't end up all over the place via the DiM instead of where they should be.
good you finally found them
Here's another from me.
A red light normally means stop-do not enter- stay back....... but it can also mean...
Using Stonemason The Streets Of Old London
Definitely a forbidden zone, well done Varsel. Even if I was tempted, I'd think twice before entering that gloomy alley. :)
wip ch49 suddenly, heard a knocking on the door

Ain't no respite here
wip Quiet time with a Demonix
had a go at using the wrench in the assembly room.
fixing bow knots poke.
used Stephanie P3, Irina char.
https://www.daz3d.com/night-of-the-living-daz-belthazor lol
used some carrara native content shaders, 3 pt light set
Quiet time with a Demonix cutie (but which figure is the demonix)

Wonderful to see Steph Petite 3! The Irina morph is terrific. I assume that it is no longer in the store?
The render just pops off the page. Reminds me of some pulp art.for the 70's. Nicely done.
I updated the Art Studio forum post. Did it before Misty added her latest, so I need to add them to the next batch.
thanks.

UB, glad you got the HDR working for you. It is a very useful supplement.
Fantastic job, Varsel and Misty. These late entries are wonderful.
Swap Update.
I did a little touch up to the Sherwood Forest image.
Here's another entry, very simple but i feel a "forbidden" challenge needs a darker entry :P
Also, i love all entries and ideas, i'm just too bad speaking english (and too noob) to make a good comment about them.
By the way, i want to share this third alternative version of my first entry:
Well i can't say nothing but it is awesome, it takes me hours just to pose base figures. Modeling, riging and posing would take me years. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words, Namtar3d.

the last stop
this render without the splat in front of the camera.
the splat is 100% transparency, don't cast or receive shadows, 0 highlight, ior 1.02 and HAVE bump!
to renser it you need raytraced dof.
so i'll render it over night.

wow what a bunch of stand out renders - sorry been away organising a painting show
really looking forward to examining all the work
thanks for the headsup UB - get something in that thread tomorrow!
One last entry for me, I AM FIRE!! I AM DEATH!!
Just playing with Carrara physics a bit :P
Wow - lots of work added since last comment by me !!!
Varsel - love the tinnie in his hand in the tunnel work
namtar3d - vary nice series of work, very glad you joined in
Diomede - had a good chuckle over the selection of brain sizes
UB - hope you get to use those HDRs, they are excellent to work with
Misty - great use of camera angle on Ain't no respite
shlomi laszlo - looks like a lot of hangmen in that place
ed3D - joining in ?
Headwax - hope the painting show is going great

I made this gold coins tileable material for my third entry, is far to be perfect, but maybe could be useful for someone. So, here it is:
NOTE: Use gold texture as specular, set mesh color as black or almost black.
SAMPLE IN OCTANE
SAMPLE IN CARRARA NATIVE RENDERER
For the Carrara native engine you can use the "Electrum" preset material, then load this textures to get a cool effect.
Great texture Namtar, thanks for sharing!
When I said earlier that I like the hot version of the dragon, I meant this one:
I tend to like reddish tones. :)
