I'm making one, the basic shape is almost complete, I need to weight map and texture it, and of course add LAMH fur.
Should be handed to QA in about 10-14 days...

I hope you didn't shave a raccoon to use as a modeling reference.
Looking good, by the way. :)Heh! Why do you think Rocky's so pissed in Guardians of the Galaxy? He had to wait for his fur to grow back--(& Alessandro's been in witness protection ever since)--

I'd like to thank all the folks for the comments, really appreciated. I'll have some new WIP renders soon.

About the Red Panda: it's pretty much similar, perhaps I could try and make (if time allows) a morph and texture to it...

Hi Joelle, thanks for your interest. I started doing cubs for the BC2 some time ago, but it's one of many concurrent projects I'm carrying on, so right now I can't tell when they will be ready. Speaking of cubs, bear cubs are at good point of WIP, as well as a new updated Wolf with puppies. No house cats or doggies yet though...

    Alessandro,

The most subtle difference between the two animals is the forepaws. On the Raccoon, these are very hand-like and extremely dextrous. On the Red Panda, they are bog-standard paws, much like any other similar animal. I hope this helps.

As a major-league cute little furry animal freak, I will be be first in the check-out for either animal.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

I'll buy the raccoon the minute I find it in the store. I'd even be happy to pay EXTRA for the alternate animal morphs, or maybe you could offer an 'add-on pack' with all the other morphs? I'd like to see a possum, but it is a different enough animal that I wouldn't expect it 'for free'. Sounds like you could make out like a, er, uh, bandit (shameless raccoon reference) adding the red panda, possum, maybe even a beaver. What is the feasibility of a 'genesis-type' animal to morph into a variety of similar animals? (Jaderail first mentioned this - a brilliant idea.)

LAMH truly makes these animals STUNNING to render!

Thank you for all your hard work and amazing attention to detail!

Hi Gogger thanks for your kind words, really appreciated and I'm happy to hear you enjoy LAMH and all these furred critters.
I've been studying quite a lot how to develop a quadruped "multi-use" figure for some time now: it's a tough call, as even animals that might look very similar, often present critical differences.
For example, I will be able to morph the Raccoon into a Beaver, a Badger and possibly a Skunk: a Red Panda (which looks similar to a Raccoon, but has a less 'sturdy' body, shorter legs, 'tubular' torso) will probably be easier to be derived from the Fox figure currently WIP.
In any case, I'll ask to set products so that models derived from the same base figure, will be offered with a fair discount.

As long as you're thinking along those lines...might I request a tanuki (Raccoon Dog)? It could probably be a morph and texture for either the raccoon or the fox...not sure which would be easier (my guess is perhaps the fox).

Also high on the wish list would be a weasel/ferret/mink... :)

Can't wait for the 'coon! though I know I'll be patient. I cuddled and petted a couple of them (boring story so won't relate except wet nose in my ear tickled) and the fur was soooooooo long I could almost bury myself in it. Their actual bodies must be tiny because they were all fur. If you've ever seen a wet Persian cat you'd know what I mean. This guy is going to be so much fun to play with! Thank you thank you for doing him!

Almost sounds like the beginnings of 'The Royal Raccoon Society' here! (AWESOME - BRING IT!)

So, let's see how many Raccoon related words and phrases we can come up with to show our enthusiasm and creativity until we can unleash our energies on actually rendering this little beauty. I'll start:

First a little information to get started: Raccoonipedia
Note, BOTH spellings are correct: Raccoon and Racoon

    Renderccoon
In Raccoons We Trust, for render we must
    Render Bandit
    For Raccoons we really rally!
    Raccooninator
    Raccoonium
    Raccoonocity
    Randy The Raunchy Raccoon
    Rocky Raccoon
    Raccoon Bandit Pants

Can anyone think of any others?

And The Guardians of the Galaxy is hitting the theaters in 70 days.

    Shhhh!!! I didn't want a movie spoiler! ;-P

I was unaware of the Guardians until I saw the movie trailer. Looks cool and I am SURE we'll see some renders of raccoons with rocket launchers in here.

I never liked the comic books, but the trailer has me very enthusiastic about the movie.

Skunk. Add a skunk to the add-on morph list. It's a reasonably common animal with a lot of render potential.

Skunk will come right after the Raccoon... here's a quick test render. This is still WIP, some adjustments to be done yet.
