And thank you Luci, Jindi, Melanie & Ken for your comments - I had tons of pages to catch up on because I worked all weekend. Loving everyone's entries!

Wow. I have determined two things... 1) I am a "binge poster" in this thread. I'm either writing seven posts all together, or I'm absent for weeks. And 2) I did not binge often enough this month. Holy cow, there were a LOT of renders! Lots of really GOOD renders. I went back to the entries-only thread to see where I left off in my commentary and realized I still had roughly 4 pages of entries to look at! Sorry this is so late in coming.

Also, before I continue, I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful comments you gave me. I read them religiously, all and I'm always uplifted by them! Alas, I'm so darn slow with my reading that by the time I go to thank the commenter, it's like four pages later in the thread and then it just seems a little late!! But I really, really do appreciate the feedback! Lots!

Okay, so here's the rest of my own little commentary...

zawarkal #02 -- Wow! So much to look at in this! Thanks for sharing the inset image. Neat to see how you put it all together.
luci45#5 -- Ah, the lure of 2.2 kids and a picket fence. Bramblebust Senior should have reminded his son that property taxes in the suburbs are highway robbery. So why not stay where actual highway robbery is illegal?
MelanieL#2 -- Love how you managed to blend all of that together coherently! And the answer to the question under debate is, "Yes." :D
Scott-Livingston#1 -- This was one of those entries that I looked at and thought, "What an AWESOME idea! Why didn't I think of that??" Really brilliant! Gorgeous render, too!
obanion#04 -- LOL, the expression and finger pointing is absolutely perfect. (Can you say "teenage girl"?!) Oh, and alt-codes are the way to go for typing umlauts and enyays and other accent marks! I know alt-0169 by heart because it's in all of my image signatures! "Karibou's Boutique © Whatever-the-heck-year-it-is- now...)
Sasje#3 -- I'd drop my breakfast if I saw that, too!! But, and this tells you how spaced-out I am these days, I totally missed the little Infernal Behemoth hanging onto his ankle. So much detail here! Love it!!
Jindi #4 -- Really neat POV on this one! And the poster is a little work of art all by itself! And, you know, I'm the mom of a "tween" girl, so I could TOTALLY hear that conversation in my brain as I read it, lol.
emsim #2 -- And here I thought sunburn was the worst one could expect during a day at the beach! (Or sand in your suit, which is also pretty bad...) But I think I'd be wearing EXACTLY that poor gal's expression if an evil tree and mechanical serpent were duking it out behind me!
Totte#5 -- I'm honestly not sure which was more disturbing... Dinoconda-meets-T- Rex or the blond... guy? ... in the lingerie! I can say with absolute certainty, however, that I never would have dreamed such a fantasticly bizarre scene to go with that pull! Bravo!!!
luci45#6 -- Major props for digging out Luxrender and wrestling it into submission. Everything you said about owning it and using it a few times and then giving up when the render was in it's fourteenth hour TOTALLY resonates. But the image you created was delightful! Like Cinderella in reverse? You did better than I would have!
Totte#6 -- No caption needed! I LOLed when I saw this. How did you manage those fantastic glowing camels?? And if I was him, I wouldn't give her away for fewer than six-and-a-half camels. She has great shoes.
cecilia.robinson#3 -- That's my coffee table once a month!! Right down to the miniatures and square-grid map! Love the amount of detail you put into this.
Carola O #1 -- I can see WHY you giggled when you made that -- the pose is priceless, lol. Is it just me, or is the donkey looking down at the ground in embarrasment?!
emsim #3 -- AAAHHH!!! Neolithic EmotiGuy! Run Away! Run Away!!! Lol, this was fantastic!
Sasje#4 -- Whoa, that's quite the parade! A modern, bizarre Pied Piper story in the making! You have included an amazing amount of... creatures... to look at!
MelanieL#3 -- Just one more reason to avoid doing laundry? I love how you put the sledge hammer right next to the giant opening in the wall! And Taric's body language is pretty much the same as my fiancé's, right when he does something that turns out to be unexpectedly stupid (like breaking the toilet plumbing.) "I don't KNOW how that happened! Don't blame me!" Lol.
luci45#7 -- Your renders are always so beautiful to look at! Usually also hilarious or disturbing (or both!) This is no exception. Not sure who looks like they're having the most fun: the adventurers, the gazebo-party-people, or the birds!
Totte#7 -- Hey, someone has to do the hard jobs. Lol. Love how the casts are such a manly shade of lavender!
Jaderail#3 -- Oooh! High drama! You've done a fantastic job of creating drama with this! Also love the drops that are spattered on the people. Very cool!
Scott-Livingston#2 -- LOL!! Poor girl. I have to agree. I'd draw the line at mismatched boots. Fantastic expression on Walter, too!
emsim #4 -- Well worth all the effort (and waiting!) Looks fantastic. Love how annoyed she looks! (BTW, if I had to gun down giant, red, flying insects for a living, I'd find a new career!!)
MorganRLewis#2 -- Hey, who doesn't love a ninja?? Fantastic use of the interceptor as a trident!! Amazingly creative -- and beautiful to look at, too!
Jaderail#4 -- Whoa, THAT looks like a bad day! Maybe she should look at it less like "losing a husband" and more like "gaining a pet"? Lol! Great drama!
Jaderail#5 -- That is one HUGE sword! Like the glowy thing it has going for it, too! You've really got the dramatic vibe going with these last two renders. Feels like a movie!
Jindi05 -- LOL!! Only in RRRR will you see an old lady in heels dancing with a flail in her hand!! The terrified expression on the person next to her is priceless. This is absolutley hilarious!
obanion#05 -- You had me wondering when you asked where you might find a bouquet. I did not think this was "meh" at all! I love it when there's an image-in-an-image. Has a poignant, sad air about it, too.
Jaderail#6 -- And the dramatic streak ends abruptly, with the addition of tiger stripes, lol! I love how there's just a random box of lamps on the bench at the bus stop! RRRR at its crazy finest. :)
MelanieL#4 -- LOL!! That is absolutely PERFECT! Clocks + crocodiles = Captain Hook!! It was meant to be! (Reminds me of the time I pulled the Mil Horse, West Park morgue, and kick-boxing clothes... which, of course, added up to beating a dead horse.) Nicely rendered, too!
TarinaKivi#1 -- Breathtaking! This is just a stunning work of art. At first glance, I knew what the the caption would say. What a beautiful depiction of "falling in love." I could look at this for hours.
Kyoto Kid #1 -- KK, you've outdone yourself! And glad you managed to squeeze not one, but two renders in this time! Holy cow, what an amazing amount of detail and effort here! It's funny how that whimsical feeling of a summer afternoon translates so perfectly into something completely alien. Love this!
Denny L #1 -- This is such a clever idea and it is perfectly executed! Love the little timeline you've shown, leading up to the unfortunate grill-buggy mishap. And your showing ACTUAL computer monitor was a stroke of brilliance!
obanion#06 -- Not sure what this says about me, but I can actually think of a few people whom may very well collect antique implements of torture... And maybe even one or two who might engage in 'Girly Man' cosplay! This one made me giggle!
TarinaKivi#2 -- Another gorgeous image! So much magic in this -- makes me want to get in the car, roll down the windows, and turn up the radio. Just beautiful! (Again!!)
obanion#07 -- Now THAT is a fantastic pickup line! That's kinda like the "good-girl who likes bad-biker-guys" cliché on steroids. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to know what insuring THAT would cost... Nice to see you can round out your entries with yet another stroke of creative humor! (BTW, Upstairs/Downstairs would have been far more entertaining if it entailed glowing sacrificial fountains "downstairs." Girls in latex probably would also have boosted the ratings...)
MelanieL#5 -- Bravo!! You tackled that ridiculously huge bundle with flair and skill!! Amazing detail! Love how Vicky is lifting the roof off the... is that the candy shop? Soooo much to see here. By the way, this kinda reminds me of what my spare room looks like at present. (Engineer fiancé descended with a zillion projects.) Only my spare room is much, much messier. No castles, either, which is kind of disappointing...
barbult #1 -- Glad you got this done "under the wire!" This looks like mandatory community service hours, lol! Makes me wonder how one becomes "Madame Inspector of PPP (Pigeon Poop Patrol)" Not a career choice I'd have made, personally!
Kyoto Kid: #2 -- Love the tilted POV here. This could be a scene from a sci-fi thriller! The arm reaching around that door is soooo creepy! Great effects, too. And yay for sneaking a second entry in before the deadline!!

SHEW! Wow, we were a prolific bunch this month. I'm already eagerly anticipating Freak Accidents. I mean the theme. Not more ACTUAL freak accidents. Because one exploding toilet is quite enough for a few months...

    ...thank you very much.

Yeah, been pretty dark in RL for the last couple months so I needed to do something bright and summery (#1) to change the mood.

Gonna be a really hard vote on this one as there are so many good as well as incredibly humourous submissions to choose from.

Thank you KaribousBoutique and Everyone else that took the time to comment. I will never have the free time to do these massive your Renders Rock things like so many have done so I'll not try. I have looked at each and every image posted, many more than once. Suffice it to say everyone deserves to win in this round from my point of view, but alias the rules do not allow for that.
And KaribousBoutique the Jungle render may seem to have random Lamps but in truth the poor older gent on the bench has the unenviable job of taking them some place on that bus he is waiting for. ;-)

Very much appreciate the comments, thank you!

Congratulations to all who squeezed in with a final render, especially KaribousBoutique (in spite of that exploding toilet). And now all that remains is to wish the best of luck to everyone!

KaribousBoutique -- I wasn't all that happy to draw the flails as I don't like using weapons in my own renders, so knew I'd have to find a new way to use them. Lucky for me, the Iyeyasu's Tomb and the G2F morphs combo made that a whole lot easier. :)

    Listen up!

I'm making the vote setup, and some entries in the entries thread, all by the same person, does not conform to the rules about how an entry post should be written. There is a reason for this rule, it makes setting up the voting feasible, those entries has to conform or be DNF:ed.

Mine are correct, right? I included the number tag (I made three), my nick and the title. Even a short link to the post... Please tell me if it is correct, if not, apologies and let me correct it. It is the first time I play in RRRR...

Nope, they are not, look how every other entry is tagged, and there is a description in the first post, and all other first time players got it right.
    Tag: Name#
    Image title.

    Entries must conform to that!

    Thanks for the heads-up, done.

PS Is bold required? Some people use it, some don't.

@KaribousBoutique - thanks for your comments on my last 4 entries. I like your answer to the Great Question! The Hook/croc combo in #4 was almost unavoidable as you say. #5 - that's Redhouse Christmas Carol with it's ceiling raised to take a peek. I'm impressed that you feel guilty for the crowded spare room - we moved into our present house over 20 years ago and still have a spare room full of un-investigated boxes. :red: (I guess that means we really don't need some of that stuff!) We shift the boxes around a bit every couple of years in a half-hearted attempt to sort things out, but then end up putting them all back where they were.
@Tarina Kivi - thanks to you too for taking the time to look and comment. In #3 I decided Taric and Kori had quite enjoyed finding that subterranean room, it was just when the inhabitants showed up that they got spooked. Yeah I did neaarly give up on #5, and with more time I might have done better (actually I thought of going the old "pictures in a book" route, but realised I'd run out of time if I tried to do multiple renders)
And so we all await the voting to start - good luck to all!

Here is an explanation how to do it using DIM: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/42384/

Also KaribousBoutique has created an Excel spreadsheet especielly for RRRR http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19109/P150/#294313
By the way, if you are/were using my excel spreadsheet, you should download the revised one. There were some bugs in the first revision pertaining to generating a random seed and having the header row appear in the random pulls. If updating an existing spreadsheet, you can just copy/paste data from the old sheet to the new one. I didn't change the OpenOffice version because, well, I still am not entirely sure how the macro scripting in OO works, lol! (I call it Coding Via Google...)

The links to download the files are the same:

    Older Excel Versions:

    Open Office:
    http://www.karibousboutique.com/files/RRRR_Generator_OpenOffice.zip

By the way... The random.org randomizer is supposedly more random than the random function in excel, even when the seed is generated using the "randomizing" function before the "Rnd" function. Lol. In any event, it's the best that Excel can do, to the best of my knowledge!

I've downloaded it and copied my product list over to it and it works perfectly and without any hiccups. : ) I will let you know if I encounter any problems but it seems that for now there are none. I'm surprised more people don't use it. When I first saw your post with the included link to it I was beyond happy. : ) I now cannot imagine RRRR without it. ^^

Yay! (Again!) I figured I was keeping this enormous spreadsheet with all my products in it anyway, I might as well automate the randomizing thing. And with the DIM exporting those nifty csv's, it's brainless to maintain. And brainless is good. Because twin 10-year-olds, fiancé relocation, and exploding toilets have reduced my mental capacity considerably this month!!

LOL. That makes me feel better (I think!) Also makes me wonder... how did we all survive before Google?? And I know we did -- I'm old enough that most of my life was pre-Google. I was the first person I knew with an email address, and that was when I was in college. There wasn't a real "WWW" until years after I earned my undergraduate degree. It amazes my children that I used to have to do research with BOOKS and that PHONES all had CORDS and DIALS -- push-buttons were considered the latest phone technology. I guess, given the rate at which everything changes, we all need Google just to keep up with everything!!

    I can definitely relate!

When I started in this business, there were three distinct kinds of computers: micros, minis, and mainframes. Then, as time progressed, three turned into two: big ones, and little ones. And now..., they're all 'little ones'! They're just 'little ones' that have been taking crap-loads of steroids!

The only thing that has gotten inexorably larger was the footprint of the operating system! My Windows 98 recovery disk was able to fit on a single 3.5" floppy. Now, it takes 7 DVDs!

I challenge anyone to have the nerve to call that 'progress'!

And my kids would look at you and say, "...I know not of this floppy disk that you speak of." It's funny, actually... the plasma table at my dad's business is a pretty expensive piece of industrial equipment. It can cut any vector-based or CAD shape from most sheet metals, up to maybe 1/2" thick? Idk, but it's a really cool machine. The plasma table itself has remained a solid workhorse for over a decade. (This stuff was built to last!) Alas, the controller technology did not weather the years nearly as gracefully. The shop has a very high-end CAD computer for all the part drawings/assemblies/etc.... but to get the drawings to the CAD table, you need to put it on a 3.5" floppy! Thank god newegg sells usb floppy drives. And thank god every office that was in business in the 90s has at least five boxes of floppy disks (which once contained something useful) , so we still have floppy disks to burn to!

Up in my attic, I have a box of 3.5" floppies. I followed Scott Adams' (creator of Dilbert) advice vis-a-vis stealing office supplies: "Don't be greedy; take only enough to back up your hard drive -- and perhaps re-shingle your house." (It's a fairly small house.)

This thread moves so quickly when you turn your head for a day or two... I'm going to have to try to be more vigilant with the next go-round.

@Karibou's Boutique: An exploding toilet certainly trumps the usual distractions... well done on knocking out another great image and story despite the circumstances.

@Karibou, Tarini, et al: Thanks for the compliments on the use of the Interceptor; I'm glad it worked as well as it did. I credit the superhero thread for helping train my brain to look for off-purpose uses for things.

@Jaderail: I suspect a lot of fast-food workers have wanted to do something similar...

[I didn't change the OpenOffice version because, well, I still am not entirely sure how the macro scripting in OO works, lol! (I call it Coding Via Google...)

I'm probably giving away yet another 'trade secret' here, but....

That's been my modus operandi in my job for the last ten years! (I'm a contract application developer.)

Have a problem with some little bit of functionality that you just can't figure out? Google it! And if the link points to 'Stack Overflow', ka-ching! -- there's your answer!

Web developer here. I think all programmers of any stripe rely on Google and Stack Overflow and online APIs. I've done a lot of JSP for the different companies I've worked for, and I know every last programmer had the Java API bookmarked, and it's the same when a different language is in use. There's simply too much for any one person to remember all of it... so it's more important to remember where you can find it.

Of course, sometimes you wind up having to create your own reference... I remember back in the bad old days when you could rely on any given bit of CSS or DOM-dependent JavaScript failing on one platform or another, I had a whiteboard in my office that I had turned into a reference table for all the incompatibilities and workarounds. Five or six web developers in that company, and there was always somebody flitting in or out my office to take a look at it. Standards are a bit more settled down now, but there are still times I'm tempted to resurrect the thing.

Opps oh yea I was gonna post that #7 as a NAE and just sort of fizzled out.

This is about 90% finished as I kept wanting to add more things for those little touches, but as a RRRR this is close enough to show.

"Go ahead!! Squirt it one more time, the table won't be all that needs cleaned up!"

Nice one Jaderail. I'm only sorry it's not an entry, I love all the detail and the drama!

Stack Overflow seems to have the correct answers to most questions. Many sites have answers but rarely the correct ones.
