I'm going to try to whack out one more before the deadline, so here goes....

    786 - V4 Cuore di Moda
    2113 - Glyn Hair
    483 - West Park Ailments
    1875 - M4 Body Suit

Well, could have been worse. (I can't really imagine how, but in an infinite universe, I suppose anything is possible.)

Surprisingly, this one came together pretty quickly.

The only real challenge was the M4 bodysuit; I ended up just turning it into 'skimpware for guys', and the rest just kind of..., coalesced.

    Also used:
Cutter character for M4 (Not sure where he came from!)
    M4 Elite Stratton texture
Notorious for M4 (Rendo or RDNA - not sure, don't remember!)
    Diamond Hair
    DMR Lynette (texture)
Apartment 39 (From back in the day - before you were born, remember kids?)
    Apartment 39 Expansion
    100 Essential Emotions for M4
    100 Essential Emotions for V4
    Drama Queen Drama

    Title: Dueling Passions

V: "That has got to be the most thoroughly ridiculous-looking cosplay costume I have ever seen! Who are you supposed to be - 'Girly-Man'?"

M: "Says the person whose hobby is collecting antique implements of torture!"

V: "These are historical artifacts, I'll have you know! They are antique medical devices. Some of them are even still in use!"

M: "Yeah, I know! Thanks, ObamaCare!"

786 - V4 Cuore di Moda (What, again!?)
2183 - Goth as Fashion for Michael 3 and the Freak

I've never entered the maximum number of entries in an RRRR contest before, but I'm reeeeeally close. #6 is killing me because dynamic Poser items make me want to throw things. But I will valiantly try to squeak 6 AND 7 in. I shall prevail! And then, I shall look at the countless other entries I've missed because RL sucks. I'm also impressed at the sheer volume of really good entries this month!

    ...hmmm 12 hours left.

Well, if I can restrain myself from a lot of kitbashing and don't mess with advanced shader stuff (or have more than a half dozen characters) that might be enough time.

    ...ahh well

    Pull #2

    113 Attitude Poses
    479 Flexx-Genesis
    1434 T-Shirt Dress for Genesis
    1527 West Park Basement

BTW, I get an "address isn't valid" error for the Random.org site. Had to find my own way there.

...yeah it kept screaming for most of my attention again all month.

Then there were all the test renders, most of which were just to see if I got the water to look right (and with all that refraction/reflection involved, each took a long time) Been up well past midnight for about a week to get the scene done in time. [*yawn*]

I'd also like to thank everyone who helped me figure out how to get refraction to work properly.

Okay, now that I've wrapped up my quota of entries, it's time to take a look back and see what everyone else has been up to! (Rather a lot, it would appear!)

sasje #3 (Big Trouble) Such a dark, ominous mood! And the food spilling onto the floor says it all: 'We have a serious problem!' (Remember that scene in Jurassic Park. with the quivering Jell-O? That's the mood I'm getting here.) Well played!

jindi #4 (Totally the Most Romantic (Teen) Movie Ever) The overhead point-of-view is a unique perspective on the scene, and the use of the toon camera is flat-out inspired. (That toon camera can be a real beast to tweak, can't it?) The dialog is great - you must have teenagers, don't you! A great render, very slice-of-life!

emsim #2 (Beach Battle Bingo) I'm not quite sure what's going on in this one, but running definitely appears to be the thing to do! Good call, Georgina! I really like the 'toon' feel of it, as well.

Totte #5 (The Elevators) What did I say a few pages back? 'No fear, no shame'! I rest my case! Wonderfully zany, and yes, OSHA definitely needs to pay this workplace a visit! Another amazing piece of work.

Luci45 #6 (Lottie's Shoe) I love this one! It's colorful, quirky, poignant, and silly, all at the same time! You can almost hear the heartbroken sighs! The lighting is, as always, exquisitely executed. A truly excellent render of a positively inspired idea!

Totte #6 (For She, I Give Five Camel) I almost wet my pants when I saw this one! It is absolutely hysterical! And so totally and unrepentantly un-PC, too! (Which, to my mind, gets you bonus points!) Another Totte masterpice. Beautiful!

cecilia.robinson #3 (Dangers & Dumbies) This is simply awesome! And it brings back so many memories of my own college days, too! (Yeah, I was one weapons-grade geek back in those days!) The feel is so evocative of advertising art, I can't help but think this was the 'voice of experience' speaking. Well done!

Carola O #1 (A Man and His Donkey) This is actually kind of..., well, let's just say, disturbing in a way. It's probably just me, though; I'm sure you're not suggesting any kind of (to use Bill Clinton's famous formulation) 'inappropriate' relationship going on there! Other than that, I'm very impressed with the oil-painting feel to the whole image. (I've only managed to achieve that effect exactly once.) Very well done, and nicely executed!

emsim #3 (The Final Challenge) This one is great! The setting, the textures, the lights and shadows, the pose..., all culminating in that 'Wait, what?' expression! Now that's funny! An excellently tongue-in-cheek fantasy render!

sasje #4 (Follow Me) I like the post-apocalyptic feel to this one, and the distressed textures push that feel to the limits. The arrangement is very good, with a lot of action. (Although I can't help but wonder what the dogs think they're going to accomplish!) Good job! A very good job!

MelanieL #3 (Knocking Through) This is wild, MelanieL! From lighting to textures to poses, it has an amazing feel to it: the juxtaposition between the mundane and, one the other side of the wall, the bizarre, fantastic, and just a little bit demonic! (No wonder the place was such a cheap 'fixer-upper'!) A really great scene!

Luci45 #7 (Under the Bridge) Another kaleidoscope of color and imagery, with fascinating characters and a great sense of motion! The sense of being a painting is also very strong in this one, too! (I could easily see it hanging in the Tate!) Well done!

Totte #7 (John and Jack had to stay behind) Another bit of quirky humor from you, Totte! (But methinks somebody used just a skosh too much starter fluid! Unless they also had to light the runway, a la Die Hard 2: Die Harder) "Keeping the home fires burning", right! Another great job!

Jaderail #3 (Cliff Hanger) Very moody, lots of atmosphere, and downright Schwarzenegger-ish the story. A really, really good render!

Scott-Livingston #2 (Shopping with Walter) I really like this one, because I immediately picked up on the Men's Wearhouse reference (it's been my go-to clothing store for the past dozen years or so)! The 'Doh!' pose and that disgusted expression tell 'the rest of the story' (as Paul Harvey used to say). Well played!

emsim #4 (Late Again) Don't bother trying to explain, Marcus, she wouldn't believe you anyway! Great story in this one, with lots of eye-capturing colors and action. Really well done!

MorganRLewis #2 (Overmatched by Children) Yeah, I really hate when that happens, too! So much atmosphere to this one. The expression on the girl's face is so intriguing, and the set-up is excellent: that moment of realization, when it finally dawns on the character that he's in deep yogurt! Good story, good lighting, good poses, good render!

Jaderail #4 (What Have You Done!?) This is a truly captivating render: a great story, in an ominous setting, with a sinister atmosphere, suggestive of a super-secret government agency project that somehow went awry.... There's no way this can turn out well! An extraordinarily effective image!

Jaderail #5 (Blue Temple of the Sword) Another scenario that really stirs the imagination! The action implied by the poses is intense; you just know somebody's going to get hurt! (But who gets points taken off when that happens?) The shadow-play adds a lot of atmosphere, too. Another excellent job!

Jindi #5 (Once a Showgirl...) I think it was the expressions that really got my attention and kept it! Especially the man and woman in 'traditional' dress; they practically shouted, "Dear God, woman, wasn't Nagasaki enough!?" This is just plain funny!

KaribousBoutique #5 (The Mess in the Basement) The double pull was certainly a challenge, but you pulled it off! And the dichotomy between the two scenes (I don't want to say 'Upstairs/Downstairs', because it would sound too Masterpiece-Theatre-cutesie; so I won't; but I'm thinking it!) is downright captivating, and deeply enigmatic. It's two beautiful images in one!

Jaderail #6 (Welcome to the Jungle) I truly like this one! You cannot cut the irony in this scene with a knife; you'd need a chainsaw! The 'savages' turned loose in the real jungle: downtown! I am particularly impressed with your shader-work: how you made the outfits all but glow! Very nicely done!

MelanieL #4 (Tick Tock) I don't know why you're not happy with this one, because I think it's fabulous! (And is it just me, or does Smee bear an almost creepy resemblance to Gary Busey?) The fact that it took me several minutes of staring at it to find the 'punch-line' made the story just that much more effective! This is a really great render; you should be proud of it!

Tarina Kivi #1 (Falling Up) This is wonderful! Such a beautiful, colorful, vibrant image, with so much happening everywhere! (I can think of only one other image that wow-ed me as much as this one did!) It just blows me away; simply awesome!

Kyoto Kid #1 (The Ol' Swimmin' Hole) Absolutely charming, KK, and well worth the wait! The characters are precious, the lighting is perfect, the handling of the water texture even more so..., and an overall feel of youthful innocence, reminiscent of Norman Rockwell! It is simply superb! (Although I'm a little concerned about those two kids on the back ledge - is the boy pushing her in, or pulling her hair while she's trying to jump? Either way, I'd have blown my lifeguard whistle!)

Denny L #1 (Screeching Halt) An interesting use of a truly bizarre group of items, very imaginatively and artistically presented! And are those scorpions..., squaring off against each other? Hmm, another story to be told there. Very good job!

Tarina Kivi #2 (Fairy's Way) A charming and whimsical composition, reminiscent of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - but with fairy-dust! I love the brush-work, and the colors of the earth and sky, the desolation of the landscape, and.... There's just so much to see in a (relatively) simple image! A beautiful job!

Well, I think I'm pretty well caught up. We'll see wht the next eight hours brings.

Good work, everybody! You've all put up some really stunning work, and voting is going to be insanely difficult!

I am now actively trying to pretend that RL doesn't exist. It's especially amusing when I suddenly yell, "DUH! My ambient occlusion pass was blank because I had raytracing off for my test renders. How stupid is that?" And then I realize my fiance is looking at me like he has absolutely no idea how stupid that is -- because he doesn't. So then I go back to pretending I'm living in my computer...

Anyway, here's number 6. Took FOREVER to get the dynamics right. The sleeves and overskirt were really easy, but there's a hooded cloak that comes with the SciWizard outfit and I must have tried eight zillion times to get it to work. It either slid into itself or, if I turned self-collisions on, it just exploded. And while that was amusing, it didn't do much for the overall drama of the image! Furthermore, I couldn't get the skirt to bend in the odd, kneeling pose, so I ended up using the dynamic skirt from the FK-Sea outfit instead. (I borrowed textures from Keeper of Lies so that it matched.) And then I cropped the image so you can't even see it, anyway!

Melanie, you've inspired me to try one more "under the wire." If you're willing to tackle THAT bundle, I can give it one more shot, too. After all, I don't do anything these days except ignore the mess in the basement!

6464 Sky Angels for Angeloi - the outfit, (Varnayrah), RDNA
7714 Valkyries Bundle by Road of Heroes (Damsel1, Tony Puryear), DAZ
3741 Keeper of Lies, (Secretheart), RDNA
7120 The Crypt of Pralleus, (Orestes Graphics), DAZ

Also used: Winter Angel and Loreley Hair (Valea), Moon Key (Arki), and a some makeup textures borrowed from several characters by Silver (Nyxia, primarily) which were photoshop-spliced into the Valkyrie base texture.

Again, not so much with the funny.

This was a knockout project for me in more ways than one. Especially hard to concentrate when the weather is getting nice (like today)

Well I got that one in with a little time to spare, but that's 100% my last.
This competition has really hotted up here since I passed by yesterday...
@Tarina Kivi "Falling Up" - superb render - I really like the lighting and the odd angle (of the viewer as well as the girl) and it definitely repays a look at the full-size version, there's such a lot of detail in there.
@Morgan R. Lewis - thanks for your comments on mine.
@Kyoto Kid "The Ol' Swimmin' Hole" - interesting one, lots to see (also repays a look at the full-size) and nice lighting too.
@Denny L "Screeching Halt" - oh that's cute! And weird - I like the little fella popping out of the screen there (Funny how often Emotiguy is getting pulled this month)
@Ken OBanion "Dueling Passions" - mmm, interesting body-suiting - must try that sometime?! And your usual wit on show in the text there too :)
@Tarina Kivi "Fairy's Way" - another beauty, you've made the Outback look really gorgeous there, nicely posed too.
@Ken OBanion "Not Your Typical Bar Pickup" - yep, that's very Ken! She seems rather unimpressed - and quite rightly too. Congrats on achieving 7/7 and thanks for your comments on my last two.
@KaribousBoutique "Divinity" - I'm simply amazed that you did this one so quickly - it's brilliant! Is that a Poser render? (I've never got as far as rendering anything in Poser and dynamics there are still a mystery to me)

I'm probably giving away a 'trade secret' here, but Poser dynamic cloth really isn't all that hard to master. The secret is in the mesh: keep it as simple as possible (actually, the Morphing Fantasy Dress is just about the most perfect mesh you can use to convert to dynamic cloth in Poser), and you might have to bring it into a 3-D modeling application to weld some of the vertices (I use Blender; you might prefer Hexagon); otherwise, when you run the simulation, the mesh collapses in on itself, or simply falls apart, to end up a pile of debris on the floor.

I used Poser dynamics for the attached render; the pile of clothes on the bench was done entirely by turning the mesh into dynamic cloth, and setting them to collide with the bench, the floor, and with one another. The result was surprisingly convincing. (And I desperately hope I don't get busted for this, because there is..., nudity. But I'm going to give it a shot; it's not blatant (there's a screen between the camera and the butt, which obscures most of it, so....)

If not, then I apologize in advance.

Yup, I second that. Just about anything can be "clothified" successfully, if it's welded right. The Cloth Room is still, IMO, the #1 thing Poser has over DS. (No fighting words intended! I love DS! "Bi-Lingual" user here!) I used a prop square, subdivided in 3DS Max here. (I only have Max because I'm an educator and robotics coach, and Autodesk is kind enough to donate it to us.) I tried cropping out any hiney-parts. The original can be seen here, appropriate filters are on.
    http://karibous-boutique.deviantart.com/art/Shrouded-172984143

The SciWizard cloak was actually intended to be a dynamic item, but it was a little weird because the hood wasn't welded to the rest of it. I think it was intentional, in order to make it drape properly. It had a constrained group that kept the hood stuck to the top of the figure's head, except that when the "hood down" morph was used, the constrained group just made the hood kinda hang in midair. I have no idea why self-collisions made it explode, but after about the nine-zillionth try, I gave up. There were three separate cloth simulations in that render, and the other two were absolutely effortless.

    Grandpa's Workroom

Vicky took Hayden and Gareth to visit their Grandpa every week. Gareth loved to see the models that Grandpa made. Hayden was getting a bit too old to be really interested, but he was also old enough to understand that if they stayed long enough then Grandpa would probably send out for pizzas, which was something he really could appreciate.

Left side table - Haunted Mansion, RH Christmas Carol
Right side table - FC-Fantasy Castle, Victorian House

    Yikes! That's bad.

I found a frog in my toilet a couple weeks ago. After I got up and flushed, I saw him in there. Thank goodness he didn't jump on me while I was sitting there. You would have heard me scream, wherever you are.

Edited to add: Not and Entry! ;-)

"The mission was simple, go to the old hospital, find the girl, and get her out. Cakewalk extraction, right? Hah, guess they forgot to mention about the other "patients". A real one of those 'out of the frying pan into the fire' sort of deals. Were it not for the kid's acute perception and timely warning we both woulda been on the lunch menu. I'll never forget those words that saved both of our lives...

This really came down to the wire. I didn't think I'd get one done this time. But I saw Ken's "12 hours left" post and dropped RL to push this one through.
