  • @ Spuddy: The last version really won. These curtains complete the whole picture. Very good.

Spuddy - I agree with the others  the third is the best.

Thanks everyone I tend to post as I go along refining rather than waiting until I have a fully finnished render

much like this next idea... I have used the old stage at present but that will prob change I am also seeking a suitable assistant for him plus not sure about the scale on some of the swords real WIP this one

    Spuddy, interesting image.

Yellow Pen, so funny.  I used to smoke thirty years ago. It will certainly kill you.

spuddy - not so much a fan of the last one with the knifes.

Yellow Pen - what a great idea! Even the smiley laughs its head off. Great smoke, too.

Spuddy, I think there can be a great idea with the knives, but this one does not really do it for me.

Yellow Pen: wonderful, love the mixture of seriousness and humour. And well-rendered.

    I've ditched the sword box

This is the classic talking head illusion

spuddy - excellent - the idea and the scene.

  • HansmarHansmar Posts: 2,756

Spuddy: that's wonderful! Great idea and very well made. Small possible change could be to actually open the mouth of the talking head, to make it really a talking head.

    Spuddy - I agree a great entry.

spuddy : I agree too, excellent idea and scene.

    Horo  Thank you

    mermaid010   Thank you

Hansmar  Thank you ..Your comment made me smile not because it's not a valid point but because you thought I had the skills to do something about it.That said I will try and find out a way of making it happen

The head also needs centering on the table a tad; the problem is I couldn't save the whole scene due to out of memory issues so several  elements will need re entering into the scene

spuddy - yes, the talking head talks now - cool. Very good. I found the lighting in the previous one better, mainly because of how the shadows fall.

  • @ Spuddy: your second render is great. Macabre, but also kind of funny.

Talking Head is a great idea. I also find the shadow better in the second version.

@ Yellow Pen: the Smokers Room - Became very fun. Smoking makes you slim as you can see ;-).

And here my first entry: Faceless fashion

Thanks Horo and drachenlords yes the knife cabinet is a non runner but i agree it does have a comedic look esp with the foot and hand

Drachenlords Faceless Fashion  what a great slick complex image lovely wider interpretation of smoke and mirrors " Things not being as they seem"

did some more changes hopefully an improvement lighting more like number two

this will be my second entry." Talking Head"

drachenlords - again a great idea and superbly done. MRD (max ray depth) is quite high, I reckon.

spuddy - I find this one better.

drachenlords - great idea for the mirror theme and very nicely done.

spuddy - more magic! (The final version is definitely the best.)

Horo Thanks yep I went back to the dark chair as well. the light one was distracting the eye form the head as the focus

Melaniel Thanks magic yes well smoke and mirrors day is to celebrate the illusionist of old and the theme of the challenge as I understood it that's what made it a difficult one for me technically

.but i think you meant more magic as a compliment in that you liked it and a play on words

Spuddy, great that you were able to make him talk. And I prefer the cushion under the head. Last one is great.

drachenlords, Lovely render. What a pity, though, because I was thinking something similar (mirrorwise), being triggered by the sleeve of (No Pussyfooting) by Fripp and Eno as well as the artworks by Yayoi Kusama. Just look it up. Whatever, I will give it ago, but make it very different anyway (I would not even succeed if I tried to get your view).
