Dan - excellent entry. Great idea, colours, mirrors, haze and lady are perfect.

I took the theme literally, sadly, no breathtaking inspiration came my way.

    My first entry.
    Fume and Reflectors
Used: The tower is from Vlad Castle by Army (Alan Armstrong), the smoke from the towers spheres and the smoke on the sky from Environments - Inclement Weather. Two distant lights illuminate the scene and create the shadows, colour and ambient light by the ernie-clouds HDRI (free on my website).

@ Dan: The Illusionist - what a great picture. Really a lot of charisma and atmosphere. Simply great.

    @ MelanieL: Thank you.

@ Horo: Fume and Reflectors - Really an almost fascinating result. Has something mystical about it.

Thank you drachenlords. I had to go to MRD 100 because there is no haze.

Hansmar, MelanieL, NGartplay, adbc, mermaid010, Horo, drachenlords and Yellow Pen - thank you so much for the comments on my last entry. Very much appreciated!

Horo - I love the concept and it reminds me of something seen in a dream. Excellent job on the illumination and the reflections.

    My second entry: "The Orb”.

Genesis 2 male and the mouse are from DAZ 3D. Character, outfit and hair are from The Great wizards set by Mec4. Other objects modeled in Modo.

Illuminated by two down lights. Rendered at 36 RPP, TA enabled. Just under 3 hours to rent.

    Thanks for taking a look!

Dan - very nicely done scene with the floating orb. The wizard seems to look at me. The mouse is a cute detail.

My last entry: Weird fata morgana.

I used two terrains for the desert, three for the mountains or icebergs in the background and a freeby ship. Also, I used a snow cube and haze cube (by Horo and David Brinnen). The mountains / icebergs and ship in the background are rendered fuzzy. The tree in the foreground is a DAZ tree. The man on the camel is by DAZ (one of the Genesis versions) with some clothes. The camel was a freebie. The snake is from DAZ as well. The oasis and the big tent were also freebies, where I textured the tent and its contents in Bryce.

Hansmar - superb render, very nice idea

Horo, NGartplay, adbc, Yellow Pen, mermaid: Thanks. I made so many restarts with this, that I should be happy now with the result. I would have wanted vibrating air between land and fata morgana, but all attempts turned out to look like water, which destroyed the fata morgana idea. But, I'm quite happy with the colour scheme and the fussy mountains/icebergs.

Hansmar - a most imaginative concept and very well executed.

Horo, mermaid010, adbc, Hansmar, ed3D, drachenlords, Yellow Pen and NGartplay - thank you so much for the kind words!

Here's my third entry "The Summoning”.

Demon skull, Genesis 2 female, hair and outfit by DAZ3D. Cave system by Posen. This scene is completely surrounded by a large, solid color volumetric textured cube. illuminated by a large, long range dome ligh outside the cave "entrance”. There is also another dome light inside to give a little illumination to the interior. Skull illuminated by a blue short range omni light. Rendered at Normal AA, about one hour to render. Thanks for looking!
