Oh no! The temp staff lady is starting to ask everyone for her weight. (There is only gals here.) I don't want to weigh myself after I eat. Actually I don't want to weigh myself at all. I over heard someone in my house weighs 270 or something like that. I don't weigh that much but still.

how does one weigh a goldfish? Is it true that a twenty gallon aquarium can weigh almost 200 pounds and most the weight is the water then the tank?

If you use metric you can convert water volume to weight easily, as 1 liter of water roughly weighs 1 kilogram (I mean theres some technical nonsense there but roughly).

20 gallons is around 75.7L, so thats 75.7kg, or around 166lb of water.

On Earth, one cubic foot of water (1x1x1) weighs 62.4 pounds.  One gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds.

Like LG and Luciel said, water weighs 8.34 pounds per gallon, so roughly 167 lbs for a twenty gallon tank... not counting the weight of the gravel and the aquarium itself, so probably around 200 lbs isn't too far off... unless you have the tank filled with milk, in which case it would weigh 3% more or if you have it filled with ethanol alcohol, it's only 6.53 lbs per gallon... if it's filled with peanut butter it's probably around 9 lbs per gallon... but don't do that because your goldfish will get fat.

Stones weigh less in water.  Buoyancy, you see. enlightened

Hmmm... is that true?surprise  They have just as much mass, but buoyancy does act on them, just like everything else, i.e. humans and ships and fish...  So, where does the missing downward force go?  Because the total weight of the water and container and stones always adds up the same whether weighed separately or assembled.

The "missing" "weight" must be transferred to the water/container?  Perhaps it's more accurate to say that stones weigh less when weighed within the water.

So, conclusion...  If you're going to weigh yourself in "stones", make sure you are in the water with the stones.  And I believe you'll find that you've lost a LOT of weight.  Amaze all your friends with your diet plan.enlightened

It didn't go as fast as they planned, though, judging by the way the camera tracked ahead of it after launch.

Well, only partially impressive.indecision  We're nearing the middle of the 21st century and they still have camera glitches? angry

Perhaps I'll start a conspiracy theory that the rockets don't exist at all and the camera glitches and smoke screens upon landing are part of the coverup and any good photos we see are photoshopped.  I'm sure it could gain ground amongst those susceptible to such thoughts.devil  After all, how can a Rocky Jones era ship even work?  It's straight out of the 1950s sci-fi B-movies and kids sci-fi TV shows.  The next thing you know the deceivers will want us to believe that there are stations in space and robots on Mars and asteroids being brought back to Earth.  It's madness, madness I tell you.laugh

I think that was something they experimented with later. If you reach round to the bit thats always itchy on the back of your head and lift the flap you'll find a weird prototype USB -1 connector. Search around old shops for a cable (or just make your own) and then connect to the secret internet site and you'll receive the version 9.102b software which I think handles units and fixes that annoying sneezing thing, or go insane or both. Anything 9+ does change the head voices to a more soothing tone, and only breaks 153 things that the 8+ series fixed, so it's worth doing.

Complaint: I was reading the news and google decided that since I'm a fan of The Circle, a big fat spoiler about the season finale would be nice to shove in my face. Now I know who won. sad

Going to watch it now before they can spoil anything else.
