Non-complaint:  Wheee...  My primary machine "Saturn" that I use for DAZing is now hardware complete.  Yay!  It's only taken 21 months and three case swaps.frown  Finally it has a suitable graphics card.  And ooh, ooh, it has an RGB light too.yes  Too bad that it's in a case with no window.  The RGB front fans show through the air grill, but everything inside hides its glory.

Not a good photo, but a record for posterity before it gets enclosed in the dark and shoved under the desk again.

Now, to get busy and open up my secondary machine ("Janus") to transfer the old GTX-1660 graphics card from Saturn into it to replace the native on-board graphics.  Wheee... fun all day.smiley

Continuing non-complaint:  Wheee... after a couple of minor gotchas,  my secondary machine "Janus" (a moon of Saturn) now has a decent graphics card.  Yay!  I can now do DAZing in a reasonable amount of time on both machines if necessary.  (backups are always nice).

First gotcha was a space problem with inserting the new GTX-1660.  It's short but it sits over one of the motherboard's SATA ports and hit the plug cable that stuck straight up.  I had to scrounge around and find a SATA cable with a 90 degree bend.  Couldn't find one but when I looked again at the problem, the other end of the cable that was in there had a 90 degree bend so I just turned the cable around.  First problem solved.yes

Second gotcha was finding a PCIe 8-pin power cable for the 1660, I had one, but it was buried in a bag in a box in another box under more boxes.  Second problem solved.yes

Third gotcha was finding room in and around the power supply to plug in the new PCIe power cable without having to remove the power supply entirely.  But with a couple strong lights, some improvised prying tools, a bleeding knuckle and a haze of blue air around me.  The power supply end of the cable was inserted, then trying to route and hide the cable amongst all the other overcrowded cables required more topological thinking than I'd engaged in in years.  But eventually, it too was in place, relatively unobtrusive and functional.  Yay, graphics board is powered!yes

Complaint:  My new computer lab is now hardware complete.  I feel like Alexander the Great after he'd conquered the world, and complained that there was nowhere else to conquer.indecision

Non-complaint:  I think I've found a buyer for that brand new ASUS TUF B450M Plus II motherboard that I didn't want, don't need, can't afford.  Yay!smiley

Nutella, isn't that the chocolate & peanut-like butter spread made from hazelnuts(aka: filberts)?  How could that be yucky?  Mmmmm...  Chocolate & nut butter.  Sounds like mashed Reese's peanut butter cups.yes   But I reserve final judgement until I actually try it.  I've never noticed it in the stores, and only rarely seen advertisements for it.

Perhaps you're thinking of that goop called Marmite or Vegemite? https://www.theweek.co.uk/64731/australia-vegemite-is-gateway-to-misery-but-will-not-be-banned ;surprise

I went all the way to Australia and spent 5 weeks there but never tried Vegemite.  The lack of that experience hasn't bothered me a bit.indecision

But here in the Jamestown, NY area when things are claimed to be "...good for you and so tasty too." our minds go immediately to Vitameatavegamin (Vita-meata-vega-min).  We even have a big mural painted on the outside of the elevator shaft of one of our parking ramps.

If you are near a flock when they take off, I highly recommend that you stay out from under their takeoff direction.  If you're too slow, you'll get rained on.  It might be more apt to call it a "mass concurent cloacal release".  It may sound like rain.

    Pro tip:  It's not rain!

You built all your stuff from pieces/parts, some of it old, some of it new.  I'm sure something will break and you can then make this a non-complaint.  Right before you make a new complaint that your frankenstuff is busted.  indecision  When that happens, would you like us to call you out on that, you know, as a free service?  Asking for a friend (you).  wink

Oh, and have I reminded you to reassess all of your backups before you create something valuable with these new/old rigs?  Asking for a friend (also you).  angel

The cats are driving me crazy today. They keep meowing for treats and trying to get me to follow them. But they already had all their allotted treats, and if I follow them, they just disappear under a table and look up at me through the glass as if you say "Got you, sucker!"  Normally two rounds of treats and a few fruitless chases would be enough to satisfy them, but today it is never-ending!

Fortunately, computer hardware needs constant updating, so you'll never get them "complete" but for a very short time.

It's not scary if you realize that the first shot is the blueprint of a virus intended to warn your body about what to expect if it sees an actual virus.  It often doesn't react much, it sort of sits back and thinks about it for two weeks.  The second shot is the graduation test for the body.  The reaction and sort of worse feeling is the body quickly reacting exactly as it should and starts production of anti-bodies that were based on the blueprint provided by the first shot two weeks previous.  It has figured out how to build an army of anti-bodies quickly if needed.  Be grateful for a few aches and blahs,  knowing that your body knows how to react should the real thing come along and now knows how to stop the virus before it gets out of control and shows you what real pain is like.

My parents had no noticeable effects from their second (or first) shots, my sister did. I'm due for my second this Saturday, will see how it goes.

...he was also a real baseball player for the New York Yankees and manager of the team in 1989 & 1990. He is best noted for hitting a home run (with two runners on base) over the fabled "Green Monster" at Fenway Park in Boston to take the lead and win a one game playoff against the Red Sox for the American League East championship (Both teams were tied at the end of the season which necessitated the single game playoff)

So here's my experience.  I have no idea if the symptoms are typical, so take this all with a grain of salt, please.

I had the Pfiser vaccine; both shots.  The pharmacist who hit me (same cute young lady both times, and as a bonus, she had dragon AND butterfly tattoos!), told me that the two vaccines are the same composition; just different lot numbers.  The second dose was 3 weeks ago this past Monday.

With the first one, I felt sick after 4 days (Thursday) and didn't feel normal until Monday around lunchtime, a full 8 days after the injection.  Even then it took a few more days for me to shake off the funk and really get back to normal.

With the second one, it's been 3 weeks ago this past Monday.  I started feeling ill Saturday night and into Sunday.  I wasn't too bad (yet), and spent all day Sunday cooking.  But it kept getting worse and by lunchtime yesterday I was feeling pretty fatigued and I had the chills.  I took my temperature after both doses and I didn't have a fever either time.  In fact, I was consistentlly 1 or 2 tenths of a degree (F) under my norm.  So I couldn't (and still can't) explain the fatigue, muscle soreness, and sickly feeling, nor can I guess why it took 4 days after the first injection and 19 or 20 days after the second injection to present.

No fever, no difficulty of breathing.  Just soreness and a lot of coughing.  I'm tentatively chalking it up to a cold, because flu or Covid would most likely come with a fever and loss of taste.  And my oh my did that bacon taste delicious, so I know it wasn't that!  A bunch of Bayer Back and Body before bed last night helped me sleep and I felt good most of the day today until about 3 hours ago (about 6 pm local time), so I'm going to do the same thing tonight.  Lots of water and a nighttime dose of aspirin.  If the first injection was any indication, I should be feeling better by tomorrow sometime and should be mostly normal by sometime during the weekend.

But if this was vaccine-induced, I'd be hard-pressed to explain why the second injection took 3 weeks to cause symptoms.  So part of me is still saying, "it's a cold; sleep it off and drink lots of chicken soup."

My cats don't do that.  They do walk up and down my walkway and in front of my cameras.  But they're outdoor cats, and their purpose is to eat vermin and alert me of bears, gators, and snakes around my house.

How will I know?  Oh that's easy.  If I wake up one morning and did NOT get woke up overnight by the camera alarms, then I'll know that something dangerous might be hanging around around my castle.  Luckily, SOMEBODY here thought about home defense, and it would start with reviewing live views of each camera.  That would be step 1.  laugh

lol, and I was really just thinking that I remembered liking RPG II.  It was an easy, ahem, "Report Generator" language.  PL1, on the other hand, put the fear of God into me worse than Assembly language!

And now of course, what does C++ look like?  PL1.  I blame Borland and IBM for conspiring against me on that, and that was continued by Microsoft.  But I got back at 'em.  I wrote a calculator program in C++ that helped me figure the ideal distance between frets on any fretted instrument from a violin to a bass.

I do feel a bit sicker after my 2nd one, but I wouldn't say don't get yours.  It reduces your chances of coming down with a life-threatening covid hit to .01%.  That's 1/100th of 1 percent!  This is why I'm ready to doff my mask and go out and share silverware and kiss people full on the lips.

Okay, maybe not either of those things.  surprise  But you know...let's just say I'm ready to get back out into the world.  I'm not an SME at hermit living, and after a full year of doing it, I want to get back to life.  laugh

I never got a Bucky Dent card in all my childhood years of buying baseball trading cards, either.  As a matter of fact, the bubble gum strip in each package was usually hard and crunchy.  Yeah, bubblegum!  Anyway, we would have to chew them for like 5 minutes before they would loosen up.  Oh man, if my mom ever found out that's why we all needed braces, she'd have put an end to our love of baseball, for sure!
