..bundle up. Must have a notebook with a decent battery

Even if you have a gas or oil furnace, it requires electricity to start up and power the thermostat. The only heat sources that work without it are a wood stove, coal furnace, or a cat or two.

Another Tulsa Tuesday, was 34F when I got up. Brrrr! Am wearing my insulated flannel shirt (yes, there is such a thing), had my double-insulated jacket over it. I was toasty! :cheese:

    But.. COMPLAINTS!

    - Moonlight Diner takes a while to render if you have ray bounces turned up too far :red:
    - Posing an armadillo isn't really all that easy :blank:
    - Woke up with acid tummy, wth
    - Hungry but afraid to eat until the tummy settles

    Non-complaints!

    - FREE LUNCH - turkey, dressing, gravy, mac and cheese, and a pile of other goodies
    - Milk is REALLY helping my tummy out
    - Purple Acai blueberry green tea. Tastes and smells incredible. :cheese:
    - Only need to work 4 hours tomorrow to make living and party money, so leaving early :snake:

All in all, pretty acceptable. :)

*edit* some nice freebies today.. containers, diner stuff, and a bath house!!

...heads up on the freebies, the only one that isn't a texture set for something more expensive is The Twister. Seems most of the freebies the last couple rounds have been textures for things I don't have and probably won't

Yes I was joking. I do know how you feel Temps here are hovering around the 32f mark, and although we have gas fired heating, if the electric goes then we still have none, as it needs the electric to work the thingummy that sends the heat round the central heating system.
...Swindon had freezing drizzle yesterday. Have the city faved on my weather site as a fair part of my story is set in the area.

We had hard rain earlier in the day up here in the South Wales Mountains., you know the sort of rain that makes piles instead of puddles. lol.

We are bout 3½ inches further west and an inch or so further north than Swindon according to the map I have (91½ miles by road)

...I'd like 2015 to be the year of retirement from the normal workaday world. Winter is really rough on me and many of the jobs I normally qualify for have just become too difficult to perform anymore. Lately, even working on 3D is not without pain from time to time.

Crikey, just getting up and out of bed in the morning can be a physically challenging experience (and I'm not speaking of just being tired and wanting to sleep).

Still about a year from early SSI retirement so hoping I can keep the contract stuff happening until then.

Not according to my old dietitian, the American Diabetes Association, and plenty of other trustworthy sources. :blank:

If you're going to have carbs, beans (especially lentils, apparently) are the way to go.

No idea where that warning came from...

Pretty healthy except for the fried chicken and dressing.I need to load up on lentil soup on Friday.. then I can stay at home all weekend and render and compose.

Wish I could go home and take a nap... :red:

tee hee got a msg from my co-worker they sent to antartica. he said the sun circles around the town. oscar meyer gulf too funny.

lentils are complicated, comes in colors

thinking of all the ways to prep a veggie

    raw
    boiled
    simmered
    sizzled
    steamed
    baked
    broiled
    nuked
    fried
    deepfried

is they fresher bought frozen? assuming frozed the same day they picked
or fresher in the produce aisle? who knows how far they traveled.

heard the freshest brocolli is a purplish color crown
is the brocolli vitamins in the crown or the stem?

my bus passes a Traderjoes, won't be able to carry much though. too far for a reasonable taxi fare heavy sigh

If they are frozen as soon as they're harvested, I'd say they're fresher. What's in the markets, with a few exceptions, is from Mexico, Chile, Honduras or even further away...where they also don't have as stringent controls, so who knows what they use on them?

The dark green parts of veggies are usually the most nutritioun-packed part I think.
