Personally I wish that today's new release, Toon Axolotl for Genesis 8 Males, was one of the included Season Pass characters, because he is not just another character, but a unique character unlike any others... something we haven't seen before. I hope some of our other 4 remaining season pass characters are as unique as Axolotl... he's so cool looking!

Yep, exactly! Though the desk and chair were from an earlier White Springs set (3, I think).
I don't think it's for people who want a good discount, more for people who like a gamble and are prone to falling for FOMO marketing, and maybe getting the characters early (24 hours). For Platinum SP the characters are $40 bucks each, and don't vanilla PC+ users get DO on sale anyway without SP? (But sure for SP it's $30). Gold is $44/$34, and Silver is $50/$36(?!). And Silver doesn't get any freebies, and only four HDs (which only cost extra because it's a DO, no PA charges $40 bucks at full price for JUST for HD). On initial release, the characters are $30 each (HD is another $30, but how many people buy HD for every DO?).
I've never paid that for a base character. Nearly every sale has FAR better prices. Only advantage is getting the character a day early. Although, it sounded like some people said they only got Brook 12 hours early.
Brooke is $22 not $30. But it looks like they are adding all kinds of deals for them not mentioned in the original promotion as things go along.
...indeed. I'm pretty much a Stonemason junkie. His latest set goes well with several of the Mediterranean/Italian themed ones he's previously released. Definitely a sale. So tonight I get an orange banner offering a 70% discount on two Stonemason items and just couldn't resist so picked up two others I've wanted with the coupon, total for all 3, about 48$ (one of the larger single purchases I've made) but I would call it one of those "good deals" that was hard not to take advantage of.
Too bad they don't have a "Stonemason" or "Howie Farkes" pass but then they don't make core characters.
Well... new day, new discount for Season Pass. 20% off the Creatures of the Abyss bundle.
I do like JoLab's demon figures, so that's an easy decision for me.
Of course, this is for Season Pass people. Is the orange banner separate from the SP discount? Or is it repeating what the page says about 20% discount for SP holders?
(Are non-SP people seeing an orange banner? (is the orange banner just the SP discount message?) I'm mostly just curious since I like the bundle, regardless of whatever the discount is supposed to be.)
Well no season pass here and no banner whatsoever regarding todays promotion. Would have had nothing against getting JoLab's (old) Infernal weapons also with this bundle or any other option to lower the bundle price. But might get the bundle anyhow since I got nearly all more current products from JoLab.
Might be the first time the season pass provides additional savings apart from the core figures and their bundles. It's $7 saving for pass holders. Things like this might make me reconsider getting a pass in the future. Not knowing whether things like this are happening frequently maybe not.
I do find this an odd strategy. I couldn't see much in season pass as it was advertised. Now I have to decide whether to get something I would have got but now won't get a discount.
I don't like playing 'trust me' games, and I don't like gambling.
It does make the season pass appear more appealing: but I don't like jumping in the dark. I like the PC+: I understand it and it makes sense. Season pass, not so much.
In previous cases the SP banner was just a repeat of the SP discount displayed on the sale page, not an additional one.
So I'm seeing people post about an orange banner, but I've got nada on my end...have been a PC+ subscriber since at least 2011 (probably before, but I can't remember, and I'm not sure how to find out, given that my subscription at one point had to be cancelled and restarted due to payment processor error with an old email address)...and I've spent anywhere from $3500 to 7000 per year here. I've always loved picking and choosing what I get, and getting the orange banners for being a loyal PC+ purchaser has always made me feel like my loyalty was legitimately being rewarded. Now it feels like that loyalty is no longer important. Only the Season Pass holders get the bonus discount? For the rest of us, it's just "Eh, shoulda bought in"? This is...disappointing. And it's the first time in a very long time that I've had to consider whether or not I want to continue. I don't mind the SP holders getting early access to the characters, or receiving items for free (they are, after all, paying for them in advance)...but to make the bundle discounts and such SP-only? Feels a bit like a slap in the face to people who've been shelling out a PC+ subscription every year for a decade or more, especially when they've spent literally tens of thousands of dollars in the store in addition to the subscription.
Just my two cents' worth. I'm open to someone showing me where I'm wrong. Tried to go back through the forums to see if anyone else had groused about this, but 36 pages is a lot to read/search, and I probably missed something somewhere.
You get an extra 30% off for being a PC+ member. Ie: you get more than the 20% for SP-holders.
And even with all the discounts (30% new item, 30% for being PC+, 20% SP), the final discount is not all that great, so despite my PC+ and SP-bonus, the item is only going in my wishlist.
Pointed out before or not, it now is clear that the SP is the current "Loyalty". When i started here last year i read that to get best discounts, besides being PC+ i need to own all Victorias, all Michaels and a specially a not discloused amount G8 Pro bundles. So i worked on that. And It paid off for a while, both michael and vic provided me a couple of special discounts and i managed the Loyalty one ffrom G8 bundles after purchasing a few of them. But it certainly did not last. They changed the bundle structures, Pro bundles did not count as loyalty and keeping up with the new ones was too expensive specially since release promotion ofered no additional perks. Now it is not even that, You could have owned every 8.1 Bundle up to brooke but if you did not gamble your money on the SP you don't get the banners.
I believe it was possible to earn the current banner from some other purchases, not just the Season Pass.
Cost was $28.60 with the SP discount (and PC+ discount)...
For my part, I hadn't used my April DO/PC+ coupon yet, so that helped get the price down a little further.

The Season Pass? Again, the fact that I bought it doesn't mean that I like the practice (especially with Brooke being the only known quantity, plus the assorted other things like that one freebie, also this JoLab-Daz Original discount).
I liked the SP enough to buy it, not necessarily that the purchase sparked any joy at all.
Maybe by the end of the Season, the opinion will change to be more definite, one way or another.

My guess would be none. If someone without PC+ actually bought the SP then that persons need to go back to school. The savings for the SP alone are way bigger than the cost of 3 month PC+
That's unfortunate, Wolfwood...as I previously stated...as someone who's spent close to $50,000-75,000 over my time here...being in a place where I have to buy something on every promotion, or purchase every bundle, or be a SP holder to get any sort of reward for being a consistent DAZ purchaser is SEVERELY disheartening.

Given that we have NO clue what purchases trigger a banner, and that it does seem to require a nearly-constant stream of purchasing in order for it to show up for people who already ARE active PC+ subscribers (rather than just being a benefit of being a consistent, long-time purchaser with a majority of bundles purchased)...it doesn't inspire me to continue throwing my money at DAZ. Constantly moving the goal-posts when those goal-posts have never really been clearly defined in the first place is a bit off-putting.
Not intending to be overly-critical here...just voicing a frustration.

By originally I meant on the promo page (landing page is I think the official term) as I remember seeing the bit from the opening post (as written, before it was corrected) as a change. Of course it's entirely possible that I simply misread the promo page.
