It is one the "Free Items", now, if you mean that you don't consider them free because yadda-yadda-yadda, whatever floats your boat.
As it has been mentioned, it's really going to be hard to please everyone with the season pass unless you get most if not all the core figures anyway, which is why I think at least the freebies should have been something more generic and overall useful like scripts or something like that. Of course, I'm sure even then some people would complain.
In my case... my issue with the freebies isn't what they were, but quality. Not that I think they are bad, and it's not like I was expecting some Stonemason environment and a Hoffmeyer outfit, but they really don't standout at all. I don't think I would have bought them unless doing so activated a really good price on my cart or something.
Actually, the freebies we got are what I expected: Something that I would never buy even if it were free. They could've commissioned Predatron to make something for us, and I wouldn't have complained because the quality would be there, and I could use it. But I was hoping against hope that we'd get Dekogon or Polish or even Tesla3dCorp. At this point I fully expect to get the next corebasefigurecharacter eleven hours or less before its general release (like last time) and more of the descent of Daz. But I'm not even disappointed anymore, just morbidly amused.
They really seem set on destroying any remaining goodwill. You would expect something higher quality on the first iteration to show the great value of your new big thing. Ugh.

No, that's what they always were.
With the season pass you can not have the latest character twelve hours before everybody else doesn't have them!

She looks very nice, but I don't see anything that makes her unique - nothing we haven't seen many times already.

Jacqueline is closer to what I want, but I cannot say that anyone who didn't sign up for the pass is missing out on anything that special. They really haven't done anything to make me say, WOW, I NEEDED THIS... from the models, to the bundles, to the free stuff, or the rather sparsely attended contest.
Jacqueline is much, much closer to selling me on the 8.1 as a whole thing than Brooke was... but I already moved a few characters that I use into the 8.1 ecosystem. So... dunno. The SP has been quite the mixed bag of nuts.
It's not so much the characters that I take issue with...it's the quality of the items being released. Those "freebies" are nothing I'd even install if someone wanted to give them to me. And then the bundles that are being released with the characters, which I understand are not part of the season pass, have gone down the proverbial pooper. I'm so over clothes turning to spaghetti when they're posed beyond the base A position. I get it...not everybody can make clothes, but the clothes I'm talking about are coming from PA's who have been around since Genesis and earlier. I'd gladly pay for higher quality in bundles...the likes of the Madas or the Luthbels or the Aeon Souls out there.

I even liked dForce when it first came out, and then the store got worse with dForce stuff being less friendly for me to use & also the dForce thing being over-used for everything. I'll go to the other store to find a simple, sexy dForce dress because I know I can find something that will simulate successfully (and doesn't have 20 million doo-dads and things going on that will cause the simulation to blow up).
We'll see what Jacqueline's bundle looks like. Brooke's did not spark joy in me, but I understand others liked it.
The freebies... yeah, not my thing, either. There was an idea there, but we've all seen better freebie packages in the past (like a free older Pro bundle when you bought a new Pro bundle).
They really haven't done a great job selling future passes, that's for sure.
I like dForce, it can breathe life into old stuff, but it's not a substitution for quality and sadly, that's what has happened quite a bit. Tube sleeves. Tube legs. Tube bodies. No seams where there would naturally be seams on clothing. No stitching. Metal pieces that stretch and distort. Just...blech.
As "character type" Jacqueline 8.1 is nothing "refreshing" but quality-wise I like it a lot, as it is the case with most core characters.
She's not a bad looking character, tho I'm not sure if she has a big head or her shoulders are too narrow. One of the two ;). My biggest complaint is that the Daz store is turning into another T&A festival. I put up with it for 22 years. I don't have enough years left to put up with it again ;).
There is defintely something funktastic going on with those shoulders/head.
And yeah, it seems like the reputation for being three-dee-pr0n-generator is definitely well-deserved as of late. I've only been Daz'ing for a couple years now, but it's gotten more and more boobs n' stillettos.
I've been overly frustrated of late in that anything I post up of a (clothed) male gets crickets in terms of feedback.
Very early on it was pretty even, with almost as much male stuff as female for Mike 1 and 2, a little less, but still sufficient for Mike 3, up to about Mike 4 when it started diverging and Vicky 4 became the major focus. Ever since it's all been about the boobs and skimpware. Last year and the year before it was improving by quite a bit, but now I think it's as bad as I've ever seen it for the lack of male stuff. And the male characters and clothes that DO come out...well, I'll be nice and say I'd rather leave them in the store. LOL. I was really enjoying the Christians, the Ollies, the Floyds and the Dasans **sigh**
I like her skin (other than the @%#*! nasolabial creases). Thanks for the renders @mazinkaiserzero! Please lock the aspect ratio on your closeup so her head won't be narrowed.
MAYBE Daz is trying to make money, and the people who make decisions have decided to capitalize everything. It's clear there's a new sheriff in town. When someone tells you who they are; believe them.

Honestly, if anything I think Daz products have turned down a notch or two the "super sexy" stuff. You only have to see the characters and stuff available for Genesis 2 Female characters. And I say that as someone looking for that stuff. I mean, really, just compare the shapes of G2 characters with their respective G3 and G8 versions if you don't want to go through the clothing. So, imho, the recent "three-dee-pr0n-generator" reputation is most likely just more people finding about Daz than recent trends in content.
