Genesis 3 is still good. Also, no dForce tube outfits.
Picked up a solo RPG-lite wargame, "Five Parsecs from Home". (They reference things like the TV show "Firefly", video games like "X-Com" and "Mass Effect" as inspirations. I think it captures that "small crew on the fringes of civilized space" feeling pretty well.)
Slowly putting together my 6-person crew, probably mostly going to work in Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 because they're faster to use than Genesis 8/8.1 for me.
And no dForce tubes.
Mostly Raiya's Henryk for M7 here... and clothing is a mix of Rainstorm with Sword of Time.
I was playing with the freebee's from the other store and came up with this. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Continuing my re-visiting of Genesis 2 as I set up a company for "Rangers of Shadow Deep".
Here's the 2 Men-at-Arms in the group, your average soldier of the Kingdom... and the basic "meatshield" for a Ranger's company.
This is all done with Genesis 2 stuff. I tried to give them a uniform look without making them identical.
EDIT: If there's every an example of "Why I don't like dForce tubes", this might be one. The artists' work on these conforming clothes show a lot of character. It's something you don't really get in dforce tube sleeves.

Looks good! Rotating the camera a bit is good for a little visual drama/storytelling (i.e. in the midst of a tilt to the story).
The lighting is especially nice.
Nice contrast between light & dark here. Good symmetry to the light, I think.
The way the light works on her face is particularly good.
There's enough light to make the cleavage interesting (LOL).
One piece of advice that I've heard is that the drama is best right before or right after an event, and you are illustrating a moment before something happens (she shoots the gun at something/someone, perhaps). It's a good choice in terms of storytelling.
Nitpicks...
The hair is good except for a couple pieces that clip through the shirt. It's something that bothers me in my own renders, so I always look for the clipping hair.
The trigger finger isn't my favorite thing. It doesn't feel like it's on the trigger, and it doesn't look like it's in a natural position if she's practicing good trigger discipline. Trigger finger very float-y for pulling a heavy revolver like that.
Stonemason set, yes? It's doing a lot of work, but it's kind of empty for as much real estate you're using in the frame outside of the character. That feels weird to me.
The lack of another human presence inside the lighted half of the image kind of reduces the drama from the gun. The gun rather loses some context when there's only one person in the frame. Maybe not the victim/target are necessary, but bystanders/witnesses/civilians would amp up the impact of a gun in the scene. If the frame were tighter on the woman, then the emptiness of the street wouldn't be so evident... but with the empty street, the context gets a little weird. (Wouldn't the target/victim notice a lone woman sitting by herself on an empty street? SUS.)

Yeah storytelling isn't my "priority" I should work a little more on that. For the other peoples, I think about it when the render was finished, and the way to do it without extending the render time to 150 hours with my old ( but still amazing ) 1070 TI 8g. By adding a car, or some othe peoples, or maybe rain, or some fog, to "explain" why there is not much people in a city supposed to be crowded ( but hey Cyberpunk 2077 did the same :p ). I think I will rework it a little bit.
For the light, when the render was finished, the sharp shadow on the chest and hairs was triggering me. I was most focused during the setting to make some kind of Rembrandt lighting on the face, and didn't pay attention to that bloody sharp shadow.
Cliping hair, I didn't notice it ^^. Left part of the shirt right ? In any case, long hairs are a nightmare to set up correctly, and I didn't pay attention while editing the color grading on photoshop, it was a good opportunity to make it "parralel to the street to enhance that perspective.
And yes the hand position with the heavy gun don't seem to be natural, another thing I didn't notice but know you tell me, it's catch my eyes, and perspective is bad.

Still working on my Ranger.
This is a lot of Luthbel's Wildenlander Watch for G3M, fit onto G3F. I used a combination of Autofit as well as Scene Identification swaps.
It mostly works, but it's kind of heavy to use in practice. I'll probably take a lot of this out (LOL) and re-do the outfit again with other pieces.

Training:
Although Police Constable Robert Owen survived an attack by a trio of vampires, almost entirely due to the timely intervention of the semi-retired combat AI Athena Lovelace, he was nonetheless infected, and the Cerberus organisation enacted its powers in order to take him into custody for assessment/acclimatisation.
He would later end up volunteering to join "Omega Division" - Cerberus's specialist team, trained and equipped for the containment of particularly dangerous supernatural creatures should they pose a threat (either to Veil or Mundus).
Although his prior policing experience and newly gained physical abilities made him a strong candidate for the role, it nonetheless necessitated considerable additional combat and weapons training not normally given to British Police officers. He is seen here receiving tuition from the London unit's second in command Jinx Harris, on the use of one of the standard issue weapons in the Omega arsenal.

Night Mare:
In contrast to classical mythology often depicting many creatures in the nude, most creatures in Veil end up being held to similar standards of modesty to humans or elves, necessitating an industry to either modify or create clothing for those of a non-humanoid frame.
As such, most of these races are familar with a lot of the societal norms and concepts associated with clothing - including those weird anxiety dreams where for some reason you've forgotten to wear any when you're teaching class.

Another iteration of my Ranger for a solo RPG/skirmish game, "Rangers of Shadow Deep".
I'm not sure I like these sleeves, but the colors match, anyway. I gave her the same Vest as the rest of the Ranger's company, which I'm using as a unifying theme. That part will stay, I think.
(Of the clothes, only the sleeves were built for G3F... this character is mostly Sangriart's Gertha for G8F, converted to G3F. The outfit is mostly Wildenlander Watch for G3M, and the Vest is from the G2M Vikings set.)
The Elven shortsword is from Polish's Elven armory for Genesis 3 (supposed to go with the Elven Archer's gear). Wildenlander Watch has a longsword there, but I took it out & left the straps in place.
For whatever reason, I got it in my head I wanted to render the Lindy Hop, then ended up with a particularly weird combination of my characters for the job.

From my sci-fi mood and also the fantasy Ranger stuff... back to Regency-era England. I wish there were more Regency clothing in the store. And for the "lack of male options" complainers, there's more Regency stuff and more recent Regency clothing for males than there is for females.
This figure is 8.1, but the clothing is Genesis 2... converted to 8 via SY's ultratemplates (onto a Genesis 8 dev load), then fit onto my 8.1 figure. This is the Sensibility for G2F outfit (borrowing from Jane Austen's titles, no doubt... and, of course, Jane Austen is one of the reasons why I'd like more Regency outfits... along with military uniforms for British and French soldiers/sailors/marines of the period because of the Napoleonic wars, which overlap the Regency era)
I need to figure out how to coax more life out of the clothing textures, though. These old 3DL textures sometimes are easy to convert to Iray, and sometimes they aren't. (I think this conversion looks more like pressed industrial foam than fabric... so it needs more work.)
The hair? Also 3DL-era, pre-Iray. AprilYSH's Nimue hair (from the Ninive 6 bundle)... but I can convert AprilYSH hair from 3DL to Iray in my sleep at this point, I've done it so many times for my stuff.

Finally actually reading the new 4e of "Twilight:2000", and realizing there's solo rules in the back as well. I've got a couple of the 2e Twilight:2k books from back in the day. Big fan of the old game and of Fria Ligan. (And of course they add a WW3 Sweden scenario into Twilight:2k4, being crazy Swedes. Of course Stockholm was hit by multiple tactical nukes.)
The hat here is from the G8M Soldat outfit. I use SickleYield's Hat & Hair helper to get it in the right shape, and also Mesh Grabber for fine tuning. Pants are a geoshell from the other store...

I actually am holding a copy of Twilight 2000 right now. I've been a fan of it and Mercs since hell the 80s pretty sure. We have this weird house game that is like Shadowrun and the world of Dark Sun fused.And we have some add on rules lifted from T2k. We just recently got back to gaming in person after doing it through Roll20 for over a year and are all vaxxed. Not that seems to help much my wife was even boosted and is sick now with covid. I'm testing me and the kids every day with home kits until she gets over her 5 days.
Case in point. There may have been a stupid conversation on Discord, followed by a quick half hour in Blender to make a cowl...

First, awesome render!
I have the original version of twilight 2000... never got a chance to play much (back int he day) because my gamers were more beer and pretzel style players (enter Boot Hill).... and were not much into nuance.
But I always bought the games because I just enjoyed reading what people cooked up as far as systems and game worlds.
So, I still have Top Secret, Rolemaster, Runequest, Gamma World....
In similar vein as Twilight 2K.... I have Aftermath! and my personal favorite "The Morrow Project".

I haven't see Morrow Project yet. And I have only ever played TW2k like 2 times as its own thing. We used it heavily to make up for the lack of documenation in the Rift days and still use some of it. If you lack gamers you might want to look into something like Four Against Darkness 4AD.

The new Twilight:2000 (4e, by Fria Ligan) is a great package, and has solo rules right out of the box.
Twilight:2000 in its current incarnation is a post-apocalyptic, military-inspired survival RPG/skirmish wargame combined with a classic open-world hex crawl. (Fria Ligan has written a couple hex crawl-type RPGs in the past, so they know how to build them.)
Hex crawl open-world games naturally make sense for solo play... just by the procedural, open nature of the game cycle. Move into a new hex/time frame, and you check to see what happens. It naturally lends itself to solo-ability.
4AD (Four Against the Darkness) is another solid solo game.
I'd also recommend "Five Parsecs from Home".
Twilight:2000 is a very full RPG with solo rules (the physical box itself is HEAVY), while 4AD is designed for solo play first. Same with "Five Parsecs". Twilight:2000 has more stuff to track and manage from the RPG perspective, while characters in 4AD and "Five Parsecs" require less paperwork & overhead to manage by comparison.
Not to say that 4AD isn't detailed. (The maps that you generate out of the game are amazing.) It's just a simpler set of rules around the characters so you get into the dungeon and roll dice, while Twilight2k is designed as a more expansive tabletop RPG that you also can play in solo mode.
Anyway... one more go at my civilian. Changed her face around a little, but I think she's good to go.

Clothing with buttons is always a pain unless they are actual attached buttons. Sometimes I will remove the distorted buttons and/or put new regular buttons in place of them. It's not really noticable though in your pic.
Someone's probably going to tell me I don't know how to football, and they would be quite right.
But hey, I had fun.
Following failure to find a better football uniform, this is a G8F* conversion of the old Rugby Uniform for G3M, where I exported and decimated the geometry in Blender to make it more suitable for dForce
* All the figures here are G8F - in the relative absense of G8M teens, I've had more success masculinising G8F teens than trying to age down G8M characters.
