I do not feel like eating anything so I am going to brush my little teeth and go to bed.

Be sure to brush the big ones too.

Well, the email notices don't work right.  The link is cut off and turns into plain text.  If you click or copy and paste the link, it goes to a different topic and post, or it goes to an error page.  Once again, not fully tested before being released on us.  indecision

You click on the link in the email and it works for you?  How?  Did you look at my attachment?  The link stops and the next line has part of what was supposed to be the link, but it's not an active part of the link anymore.  I looked and every one I've gotten the link has been malformed like that.  I copied the whole thing and pasted it and that worked.  But not everyone would think of that.  A lot would just click the link.  The last one went to a totally different thread.  The one before that gave an error, topic not found.

Did you see my attachment? My email prog isn't cutting the link name in half like yours is, I don't know why. frown

...aside from the ones I got while I was asleep (which all give me the error that the page could not be found) haven't received any more email bots for any of the threads I'm subscribed to.  As I understand from the FAQ, there is some kind of limitation in the sfotware in which the link will take you to the first post of the thread requiring manual navigation to the actual post the email is reminding you about. A real bugger in long and fast moving threads or if you have been away for a while.

...and FF Spell Check no longer works (real pain for someone like myself so expect a lot of typos)

...and my flutterbys don't show up in my sig even though they do in Edit Profile.

    Yeah...

ABC with the checkmark under it, choose SCAYT (spell check as you type).

Hmm...me either.  I might turn off notices and just bookmark the ones I follow.  It seems checking My Bookmarks shows if there are new messages, and clicking on the thread name takes me to the first new message that I haven't seen yet.  Works for me.

Update: the email links seem to be proper now.  They must have fixed it.  I am not the only one who was having that problem.  Still, a dozen emails for a dozen posts in the same topic is a bit overkill.  indecision

IIRC, the same thing (a notification for each post) happened with the last Forum change.

...on another note,  got another blue screen on the workstation tonight.

When I first started up earlier this evening, for some reason neither the mouse or keyboard did anything.  Had to do a hard reset after which there was some message about a mouse driver update being loaded. Restrted and everything seemed fin until the BSOD.

Noted down the number (just the one after the "Stop" statement is needed correct - 0x00000024?), and went to the site on blue screen messages which noted it had to do with something called the NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM.  After that I was totally lost as to what this all meant andwhat needed to be done (not really good at this sort of stuff) IT mentioned both disk corruption and non paged pool memory.  The latter seemed ot have more to do with Macs than PCs.  As to disk corruption it mentioned about SCSI and IDE drivers, however my drives are all SATA III.  I checked the event viewer as was mentioned but I'll be damned if I could understand what any of it meant.

KK, shut down, open your case, carefully pull out the RAM modules, one at a time, and reseat them.  See if that helps.  If your computer has been running hot and you've turned it off, then turned it on later and it gets hot again and you then turn it off, the heating and cooling and heating and cooling tends to cause movement and sometimes intermittent connections.  You could do the same for your video card while you're at it.  Card slots are especially prone to this.  The card will tend to "walk" out of the socket.  It's due to the components expanding and shrinking with the heating and cooling.

Utility?  Um...your fingers, a philips head screwdriver or nutdriver (depends on what the cards are held down with).  You are using a box, right?  Not a laptop?  If this is happening to a laptop...take it to a shop.  I wouldn't know what to do with a laptop.

...I wouldn't know what else to look for as I just did a full "clean up" and connection check a short while ago after the last BSOD event. The memory is fine as Computer/Details shows the full 12GB present. If any modules were loose it would show only 6GB as the memory configuration is tri channel. Again the drives are SATA III so they don't use separate cards like the old IDE ones did (and all the SATA connect ions are tight).

The article did mention running CHDSK.  I may try that tomorrow as it's late, I'm tired, and rather frustrated right now.

..and I want the flutterbiys in my sig to show.

I had more posts when I went to bed.  Got up and I've been marked down to 2600.  Posted once and my total went to 2599.  It may be a long time before I post again.

Hurrr durrr. Morning! Forumpocalypse is still ongoing, I see, and my mailbox sploded while I slept. Yay! Anyway, not to be completely negative, I will give some time to hammer out the problems, not like I've been here every day every hour, so... Someone mentioned a word filter? Let's give it some classical tests...

    Assassin ?
Pornainen ? (This, btw, is an actual city in Finland, and when some idiots in school put in a filtering software, it got double-whammed on account of "porn" and "nainen", latter which means "woman" in Finnish, and there you go, idiot software vanished a whole city.)
But perhaps this is more of a Scunthrope thing? (another filtering software trap).

    Edit: Oh wow, passed.

I wonder if Ubisoft forums had issues with the key word "Assassin" in the early days, That would be funny! "Official Announcement: Ubisoft launches the next ********** Creed! WooT!"
