I might be able to get that three cheese bacon steak sub today for an early lunch.  Maybe I can get a small and loaded fries too.  Or get a regular which is four dollars for me.  Evil grin!

Stoopid forum. Accidentally hit quote button, it saved a draft, I erased text, hit 'save draft' and hoped that would be it, and yet, the quote persisted.

So I'm writing this post in hopes to make it go away for good.

I accidentally pressed the quote button too many times but do not see any way to erase a draft other than posting a new post.

There should be a link in the gear menu at top right to "My Drafts". Go there and you can click the X to delete an unwanted draft.

I had more posts when I went to bed.  Got up and I've been marked down to 2600.  Posted once and my total went to 2599.  It may be a long time before I post again.

Yes, some posts in dead forums seem to have gone - I'm down about 200. As for posting, hit refresh - when we were testing I made four posts in succession and the post count on each successive post was one more than the count on the post before (showing on the same page) and didn't correct until I refreshed.

Edit: in fact this post appeared at the foot of the page before, with the quoted post, until I refreshed.

    Oh goody!

Meanwhile, I wish that we'll be back to that old way of notifying of updates to a thread... my mailbox would like it so much more.

I'm bored with talking about the new format.

On to better things...  Were you ever confused about how not to take a selfie?

Apparently some Russians (and I'm sure a lot of other idiots around the world) need to be told.

"Selfie" in Russian is "селфи"  ("сел" pronounced "sel"; and "фи" pronounced "fee") surprise

Meh.  I don't care how many posts it shows I've made.  Talking to friends here is more important that how many green boxes I have.  And I don't think they will have those green boxes anymore.  That was part of the old forum software.  Maybe they'll figure a way to get it back, but why would it matter?  We love you for who you are, not how many green boxes you have!   smiley

Hurrr durrr. Morning! Forumpocalypse is still ongoing, I see, and my mailbox sploded while I slept. Yay! Anyway, not to be completely negative, I will give some time to hammer out the problems, not like I've been here every day every hour, so... Someone mentioned a word filter? Let's give it some classical tests...

    Assassin ?
Pornainen ? (This, btw, is an actual city in Finland, and when some idiots in school put in a filtering software, it got double-whammed on account of "porn" and "nainen", latter which means "woman" in Finnish, and there you go, idiot software vanished a whole city.)
But perhaps this is more of a Scunthrope thing? (another filtering software trap).

    Edit: Oh wow, passed.

And yet, when I posted something about a bloody mess earlier, that was censored.   frown

    Dana

And it was again.  What a b-l-o-o-d-y mess!  angry

Meh!  I've put something up now, so whatever.  By the way, that image is me on Jan 28th, in all the snow.

I tend to believe it depends on the kind of day the forum monitor has been having and your rapport with him/her.  However, after getting my hands slapped on a nearly regular basis I finally learned that I have to lead off my blistering kvetches with a positive thing or two, then be deliberately non-commital about the negatives while using lots of weasel words & phrases like "Hmmm...", "perhaps", "in my opinion", "is it possible", "unfortunately", "I understand why", etc.  Never come right out and call a spade a spade despite how clear it is to you.  You might actually be wrong.  I was wrong once.  Admitting it now is my second mistake.  Also, four letter words and references to the forum monitor's sexual proclivities are real no-no's!  But sending cakes and cookies and hugs to the forum monitor can be helpful.

Yes, it's a pile that was stored when they were plowing and carrying it away.  They didn't want to dump it in the water, because they knew there was probably a lot of junk in it, trash.  Some has melted, but it's so dense that it will take a while longer.  Then, they'll collect the trash from the area and bring it to the proper place.   it was just on the news on Fox25 Boston last night.

So, you think it's my rapport with the mods?  Let me see...I am not an assassin.

    Dana

Nope, it didn't block that word.  But just think about it...what if someone posts an image of the aftermath of an assassin's work, and describes it as Assassin's B-l-o-o-d-y Aftermath?

Plus, those asterisks make it look like you posted another word, a four letter word.  What kind of impression will that leave on your friends in the forums?  I just think it's a bl**dy mess!
