Crickets
I can't believe that there's nothing unworthy of kvetching about.
I'm out of energy for complaining.
Dana
Always check if your caps lock is on before typing up a post.
I often feel like I don't get enough of a response to go on with it. But I am currently still trying to get this artificial intelligience stuff to run on my computer. I need to run my own because the one on the internet are designed to be super safe, and some of us bare shoulder types don't want to be that safe. And it's hard enough that you have to download a million undocumented things to get any of it going. But then I find that the system requirements are like DAZ Studio, or maybe worse. And for some reason the one that does chat has much bigger system requirements than the one that does graphics. It's like you have to have 64 gigs of ram and an RTX 4090 for a computer to make a sentence.
I just ordered a pole saw and I don't know if I will be able to lift it. But I don't know any other way to keep the tree branches from eventually getting too close to the house. I have been advised that you can't just set trees on fire. I could get a lighter weight saw if I got a gas powered one but I dont want to deal with mixing gas and oil and stuff. I actually don't want to deal with tree branches at all. I like trees but I really wouldn't mind every tree in our yard was eliminated and we could start over.
I should probably be asleep by now but I feel like I really should have a third paragraph. It takes me a long time to get to sleep anyway. I think too much. I should just get up and go to work now. It's easy to fall asleep there.
I would hire a scaffold if inclined to do it myself but hiring an arborist is even safer
Have you considered moving the house?
Complaint: My local grocery store, recently having changed ownership, had to stop selling NY State lottery tickets until all the State paperwork was done to register the change. Which meant that I couldn't throw away my $1 each week.
Non-complaint: But now, all their ducks are in a row and NY LOTTO tickets are back in the store. Yay! And another dollar bites the dust... week after week after week... But if you don't play, you can't win. (I won semi-big once.)
If you don't play you probably "win" more with all those dollars you save over the years.
Still not dead yet. (waves)

Is it normal for Genesis 9 to take an hour to render? or is my computer stupid? Or my internet speed stupid?
Of course I would. I realize I've probably paid well over two thousand in the last 40 years. But, where's the thrill in periodic miniscule cash winnings? I don't mind paying for thrills. It paid off once. The thrill was worth the loss of all the other times.
The trick is not overspending for your virtual thrills.
Well, also on the plus side: that money you spent will help support education in New York State.
Complaint: <crickets>
Non-complaint: For the lurkers without any theraputic complaints to add to the thread, put on your headphones and listen to this music to DAZ by.
Suggestion for next incarnation of this thread's title(if we ever get there): "The Theraputic Complaint Thread".
I am back. I think I mean I am back at rendering. I went through a depressive spell and now I feel better. I think?
I don't think we can lift it. It looks heavier than the pole saw. I found out I can lift the saw though. Plus my brother may be willing to help because he gets to play with a chainsaw. I have to get "bar and chain" oil. I thought by getting a battery powered tool, I wouldn't have to deal with oil. They got me good. One of our cats made it take about four times as long as it should have to put that thing together. It's really long. I should have put it together in the garage instead of the living room so I wouldn't have to figure out how to get it from the living room to the garage without bumping into things. Oddly enough, I didn't bump into anything until I got it into the garage. I also have to get goggles and I'm pretty sure they won't autofit but we'll see.
If you've never used a chainsaw before, I would suggest investing in some basic PPE - vests, chaps, gloves, etc..
Mmmm... Crickets...
Bacon and Cheese too!
And to wash them down... Bob Ross Positive Energy Drink!
I took that picture at a mall candy store a while ago... probably a couple of years ago... I'm pretty sure it closed or moved to a different site at the mall...
Its one of those "pseudo-outlet" type outdoor malls... some are called "shopping villages"... This one has Tuscan style architecture... I feel like the whole thing was designed in SketchUp because of the uniformity of certain details, but that's more likely because of the fact that a lot of current stucco type architecture uses styrofoam moldings and detail elements that they cover in stucco or cement...
Believe it or not, for some reason a tiny layer of cement on the white beady type styrofoam is incredibly strong... I actually used to use the rigid extruded pink or blue stuff which is even stronger than the white stuff, to make water features and natural looking fountains... you have to rough up the surface though or else it won't stick to the pink or blue stuff, but if you do, a tiny outcropping of detail about the size of a fist, could easily support my weight.
Yeah...
I've got too many things to complain about, so I'll just stick to rambling on about styrofoam and cement architectural details.
Actually... I guess that was all.
...I've dome so as well on a few occasions. We have a multiplier (one more $) but it quadruples the amount for the 3, 4 and 5 number matches. I've hit 4 numbers with that which usually means 120$ - 200$.in the wallet.
If I hit 5 of 6 it could be anywhere from 2,000$ - 4,000$ which would be more than enough to upgrade my system to W11 statu
Until then I'm stuck on the 4.21.0.5 general release as all the releases after that require an Nvidia driver that no longer works with W7..
Definitely... elbow length gloves especially and a face shield... and rubber boots, a disposable apron, a drop cloth, some large plastic garbage bags, lye, a shovel...
Wait...
What were we cutting up again?...
Oh...
Nevermind... tree stuff.
Regular PPE will do.
So a chainmail bikini and high heels won't work? Not even with the goggles?
Well, if they're sexy goggles that should be fine.
Seriously though, if you have never used a chainsaw before, I suggest you watch several how to videos on YouTube. Having someone train you would be better, but isn't always possible. For PPE I would suggest goggles, gloves, workboots, and a hard hat since it sounds like the branches are overhead.
Here are a couple of how to videos.
Also this one, just in case your pole saw seperates like the one in the videos.
Isn't it great that his pants are red?
Oops! Hi
Oh, today is Wednesday! I forgot why I find that interesting?
hump day?
You have a crush on Woden?
Wooden needs a shirt!
I think that's only chaps, there are dark jeans underneath them.
