Yes, I have also forgotten about Shape Reprojector,

but at least it creates a quads geometry as a result.

I have watched a tutorial for Proteus and one can see

it creates a mix of triangles and quads as a result.

I think, such mix would create problems with using

    the morphs created by Proteus.

The inclusion of all these presets makes all the difference to me.

I like a modular set but if it doesn't come with usable presets, I know from experience that I'll never actually use it.

    PA's, take note! cool

(I wonder if the presets are optimised with instances, or if they can be easily optimised using Instacify.)

@Astraffel, I thought I would add the main product, which I agree is an excellent outfit and well done. I bought both it and the texture set.

fefecoolyellow is effin' red hot! I love her outfits, and she always provides lots of morphs that are actually useful.

Yup. I like their outfits very much.

'Pure Feminine Expressions for Genesis 9' https://www.daz3d.com/pure-feminine-expressions-for-genesis-9 Who added this set to the Daz+ catalog? What Neikdian means by 'feminine' is really interesting. Apparently they are time travelers from the 50s or before... ;-) This set conveys the long outdated view of supposedly 'feminine' qualities such as childlike, cute, skittish etc., all of which are clear signs of weakness. Well...

And while I don't do baby renders, a baby carseat to fit the back seat would be nice.

This is terribly late, but I stumbled upon https://www.daz3d.com/betty-baby-travel  and had to think of your "car wishlist" lol. So that suggestion is already available.

LOL, you can tell I don't mess with babies much. I own that product! I thought it was very well made and might be useful if I ever did a kid. Of course the stroller could also be used to carry groceries home or put a pet dog in. I have seen both around the area I live which is very close to parks, stores, and other businesses. I even see kids periodically, though they are more often in those little carts towed by bikes. Don't see many perched on the back of bikes.

    Right, hehe! laugh

But 'FSL Architectural Elements' looks great! At least for someone like me who loves to make houses, interiors etc. herself, mostly from primitives.

Normally I could care less about presets and initially I didn't see a use for this product in my projects, but then saw the preset promos and that got me interested in it.

Presets are nice enough, but I find it more useful to save my own.
  • I guess people will start sharing scenes made using those architectural elements as duf can be shared if the other person has the same content (or you at least get an interesting grey cube structure cheeky)

It looks interesting, but the density of the mesh in the wireframe promos concerns me. At least the artist had the curtesy to show the wireframe; few do, so props to her for that. Some of the water objects are so dense, you can't even see individual polygons. Even things that are simple primitive-like shapes seem to have unnecessarily dense mesh. How many of these objects can you put into a scene before it becomes unusable? I'll wait to hear feedback from purchasers.

If anyone feels like sharing their scenes that they built with Sci-Fi Kit 2016... I had bought it when it was on sale because the promos look amazing, but the one preset that's included is pretty useless to me, and I don't have the patience to built large spaces from scratch. I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I can entertain myself endlessly fiddling with character morphs, lighting, poses, and material settings. But building spaces from scratch is just so profoundly boring to me, and I don't really have a good feeling for it anyway.

THANK you! I really thought I was the only one thinking this, and felt thoroughly depressed. Much better now. yes

  • The face shape on that promo - the lip shape, lip angle, lip alignment with tip of nose and snub nose all took me right back to early V4 days, where that was the standard shape of early V4 custom female characters. I used to have some such images favourites at Rendo to illustrate this, but they've either been deleted or I discarded the favourites over the years. But it feels like a blast from the past for me too. Regards, Richard.

I find the align tool to be the easiest with kits like that, especially since you can align and/or stack on each plane with a bunch of things at once.

I have that product also but I mostly use it for wall backdrops... I don't have the patience to make buildings either.  :(  sorry I can't help.

Big surprise, a sale of a new 3DU product when I actually have some money results in another purchase by me. In this case: Cartoon Adult Female Character, Hair, and Outfit for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D

Be aware that the hair has some morphs that don't work, and the material preset labeled eyelashes actually changes eyebrows.  These errors have been reported to customer service, but there hasn't been a fix from 3DU yet.

I like the Lady Magician outfit and it's nice to see clothes with multiples textures included in the base product. If I was in a nitpicking mood, I would say it's too bad the Blue - Zebra outfit didn't make it look like she's wearing a trouser instead of making it looks like she had her underwear over her trousers, like Superman blush

Does someone know how the sparkling magic effect were done on the main picture ?

My guess would be postwork with an image of sparkles overlayed over the render.

FYI.. there are LOTS of effect props that can give a look like the one in the promo... Not sure which one is used... but I have several packages and they don't need postwork... I love'em... cause I suck at postwork :(  lol

TThanks for the heads up. 3DU is good about fixing things. I'll have patience.

I'm not great either at postwork, so the more I do with Daz, the better laugh

  • I really like the look and clutter of the Fantasy Medieaval Street. It's claustrophobic & could easily become overcrowded, just like the timy Mediaeval streets I've been to in Canterbury & York. Really good.

    Regards,

    Richard

I like it too, but would love to see a render without textures and the mesh.

The buildings look nice, but is it possible to use them individually in the landscape of your choice, or are they all just in one big prop?

The promo pages lists them as props as well as a street set. Xivon's other sets have had separate props buildings/
