Looks awesome too! WOW
Very nice, Cathy.
I swear your Elf mage's face reminds me of Kirstie Alley! (Not complaining, I think he looks good.) Great use of the G3F outfit.
Awesome =)
And I recognise that hair model. It would be cool if there were more "elf-friendly" loose long-ish styles.
will do. And yes, it is REAL Hairy. :)
Hey, G, which beard did you use? Mec4D's Unshaven or the new one for G3 males? It looks like Mec4D's, but positive. It looks better than what I've been able to get out of either of them on my G3M figures. Although, I have to admit, I haven't managed to go back and try L'Adair's suggestion with regard to the Unshaven beard . Will have to do that soon.
Thanks, Knittingmommy—I always look carefully at G3F outfits to see if there is any possibility of using them on G3M. I guess this works best for fantasy, but can also work for goth/punk/emo characters.
I was trying to think who she was, and realized I know her best from Cheers (although she was also in The Wrath of Khan, which was reshown on TV the week before last. I can always watch that film again when it comes on!). I agree though that he really does have something about her look.
Thanks, Mustakettu Some Lord of the Rings style elf hairs would be nice, for men and women. There seems to be few available presently that fit the bill..
Thanks, RAMwolff!
Thanks. What a hunk!
Looks like quite a few new images, since I last popped in. I shall go back and peruse properly, shortly. Once thing I noticed was the comment about "real hairy" on G3M and I'll agree, it works really well, depending on the pose, though. In this image, if I moved Ralphs left arm much higher, his pit hair would start floating.
And based on your comment in the gallery, I did a series of four closeup images:
I did the last variation specifically for Cathy, so she could see the details of "the kiss."
I must now set 3D aside and concentrate on bringing QuickBooks up-to-date so I can file my tax returns. But once that is behind me, I'm going to try this pose with a modern theme. I'm thinking the guy in a tuxedo and the gal in a fancy dress. Different hair on both, too. I expect there will be a lot ot time spent tweaking the pose, but that's half the fun... right? Anyway, Enjoy.
@L'Adair one thing I can never manage to get right, is a decent kiss. I applaud you.
But, here's todays stupid render...
Thank you. It was a lot of work fine tuning hand placements and such. But it was also a lot of fun.
Dropped the soap, did he? I hate that... fun image.
LOL
Ah, thank you! I hadn't been to the gallery yet today so I hadn't seen these. You did a nice job on the posing. It looks good from every angle.
Speaking of angles, I scrolled down to look at the bottom two a little better and got a little distracted by Butch's legs there. I get so frustrated with him, at times, though. He never seems to upload pictures that allow me to zoom in so I can look at them at full size! Those legs are just begging to be viewed at a larger resolution! I had to go track it down in the gallery. Also caught up on liking a few of his other works I forgot to like and comment on, though, so it was a good thing I went over there.
Sorry Kinittingmommy I've never actually been able to work out how to upload the large one. Unless I'm being stupid and not seeing the obvious.
But, I do thankyou for the comments As for the body hair, parameter thickness is set at 25% and opacity, in Octane, is set at 75% . Gives it a more realistic look, I think.
That's okay. I tease, but it did make me go track you down in the gallery so I had a chance to catch up as it were. I love seeing your stuff in Octane. I don't have it myself. It's a little out of my price range and I don't think I meet the computer specs for it. You do a nice job with it, though.
If you go into your gallery and click on the image to go to full screen mode then right click on the image to get the location, you can highlight the location then just like you do normally for the smaller picture on the gallery page. Just make sure you also set the width to 800 px or it will be full size on the page. That is the way it is suppose to work anyway. I've a couple of glitches with that the last few days where clicking doesn't go full screen when the picture is clicked. Not sure why that is.
Blake with Renegade gloves, Jepe's SpecialZ, 9to5 pants, Keegan Hair, Iconic Fedora
That looks really, really good.
I'm not sure if this entirely counts as the spirit of this thread, but...
(More shots of same statue, some NSFW, at my DA account)
Oh, sure, it does. The statue is male... I love the detail of the hair and veins. The only thing is the eyes look more like real eyes than marble, but that's nit-picking... lol
Very nice.
Thanks, L'Adair, you made my day! Heck, you made my week!!!
I struggled a lot with the hair because I couldn't figure out how the heck to sort of 'glue down' the very life-like curls and fly-aways that most hair has.
And then it hit me that the scalp pieces are textured... so I JUST used the scalp (of Omri, in this case).
The pubic hair is more hair-like than is appropriate. I tried to 'mat it down' a bit, debated getting a leaf to cover his bits. Heh. But since I wasn't zooming in to that portion, it didn't get obvious.
LOL...
(I have a confession... I was basing my comment on the image you attached here. I didn't go looking for the NSFW one over at DA...)
Fair enough. Heh.
So for those who don't do the DA thing, here's a very close-up shot.
It's actually unrealistic, though, because in most marble statues, they don't have that fine bump structure -- more realistic would have been making him completely smooth except for specific details and veins and whatnot. I'll probably do more of these in the future. Mmm.
So when someone talks about their gallery...where is it? I think Will's is at DA. Is that where they all are?
And how do people tell anything from the little attachments? Is there some trick to making them bigger? I've seen where someone will tell a poster that his directory is wrong, but I can't really see much from the little attachment. I certainly couldn't see the directory.
@KevinH He looks nice. Great render. I like the pose.
@eviled777 A very nice render. The tough expression goes well with the pose. Love the camera angle.
Will I think they look great, L'Adair brought up a point that I hadn't thought of with the hair. If you did it again, maybe you could model a hair that looked more like a statue before texturing with the stone. You wouldn't have to worry much about conforming or anything. Just treat it as prop type thing, maybe? Of course, this is from someone who hasn't tried making hair yet! so that might not work. I have a tutorial for making hair, but haven't tried it out yet. I didn't actually notice anything specific about the pubic hair when I went to your DA page. I might have to go look at it closer. It is a shame those couldn't be shown here because it looked like a good prop for a museum render.
Well, it'd be funny and appropriate to have to put on a fig leaf. ;)
The problem is that I actually need to find an older, 'worse' model for hair, because most recent hair has all sorts of bits and strands.
Now, I COULD try modeling my own. But. Eep. Another option is try to texture a sphere or something so that it looks stylistically hairlike... the challenge being that I have to make it look unrealistic in a realistic way. ;) But definitely something to try.
I've been thinking of some Greek maidens with amphor... oi? And I'd have to do long flowing hair.
One funny thing is that you actually DO want stuff to clip a little, because it's like how it'd likely be in a statue. :)
