I am not seeing this box anywhere... so I guess that means I paid so little for my renewal that it's not worth giving me a deal???? WHERE did you see this box please?
I subscribed to Premier, and on my account page it shows me being that tier.. I used the coupon code "10_24CHAR-BUNDLE" for the free character bundle while having the Genghis bundle in the cart, but it still shows as being $41, and "coupon not valid" flashed for a moment in a banner at the top of the screen. That is the only character bundle in the cart, so its not giving me something else free instead, or anything. Is this a bug?
Also, what is the "subscription linked" content I am reading about that was mentioned? If I'd lose things by unsubscribing, I don't want to subscribe in the first place, and would just rather pay for stuff as I go.
I know I am not the only one who thinks that that is a garbge way to do it.We bought an item for what YOU SOLD IT FOR And now you are devaluing the item you sold us, by offering such paltry returns for what we paid for. That's like having a sale on gold bars worth $5,000 and selling them for $3,000. So when people buy them, you later decide that you now want to sell platinum bars for $15,000 and tell everyone that you will give them a platimum bar, but if you want to trade your gold bars in for the platimum bar it is gonna cost you 7 bars of gold. Completely lame. Not to mention the "benefits" is not completely clear, on what you keep and what you don't if you subscribe and then let it lapse.
I hit upgrade with 2 months left on my Daz+, nothing changed except my monthly coupons (which do NOT work). I buy a ton on the store and I upgraded for the extra discounts (which also are not showing). Am I seriously in limbo until the end of December?? And yes, I updated my payment information and added a card (I did not previously store one as I paid for everything on single purchase basis regarding D+).
Disappointed with this roll out so far. I "looks" like I upgraded on a first glance but under the hood, the engine is still the same.
Go to your account page where you see your messages from DAZ there should be an orange banner message where it will give you a "personalized deal"
Heh. I filled that survey in a while back and said I would pay for an enhanced version of Studio if we were talking about features that need to run on a server and incur a cost. I think they're called services and they generally incur a subscription. Features that run locally are not a service. That's the first mistake this new offer made if it is targetting me (emphasis important because I can already forsee potential snark coming back my way).
The second mistake is that this new subscription tier is bundled with store discounts. Software and store strategies should be separate, in my view. Studio is a loss leader and a very good one, but as soon as you start mixing payments into it, it becomes a very bad product because, to be absolutely frank, the quality isn't there. It gets the job done, but paid features have to enjoyable to use or be industry disruptors. Buying third-party plugins and reselling them as a subscriuption gives me zero confidence that we're going to see the investment into the core software that it needs. It's absolutely creaking, and not you want to charge for that? I get it - you're technically charging for third-party content, but that's not what your offer is telling us nor what your customers will perceive.
The third mistake is offering me 3 months of premium in exchange for 16 months of Daz+.
The fourth mistake is running this after a great sale. There are some brilliant prices in the store today, but they're not as good as last month. People are empty. The only real perk of premium is slightly bigger discounts once you dig into it, and while that's great and all, the prices still aren't as good as yesterday and folk will still remember the wishlist and 10% off your cart sales of 10 days ago or so.
Has even one single person who has upgraded been able to access their premiere tools within Daz Studio? If so, would you be kind enough to explain exactly how?
I'm getting the same issue. None of the premier coupon codes are working for me. On top of that:
I hadn't checked the things you mentioned, but yeah, same problem.
I am not seeing a 'personalized deal'.. so i guess I don't get one :(
But it doesn't get the new features/plugins either, so it's in fact a slimmed down version. I'm not much interested in coupons and extra discounts for a monthly fee, but I'd like to keep using the studio to full extend. One benefit of the premier studio is announced as "Simplify scene management and optimize rendering performance with new Render Settings", I'd like that too! And what's next? Pay a charge for each render you do unless you pay a monthly subscription? This all goes in the completly wrong direction. They should improve the software to make it more accessible to a wider audience, instead of reducing the user base through hugely increasing costs.
I hope they consider to bring a much cheaper subscription for the DazStudio features only, if they aren't willing to develop the studio features for free anymore. But linking the whole thing to another discount package is simply a slap in the face for any customer who is not interested in a subscription fee for extra discounts/coupons.
How much time do you have left on your DAZ+?
Do you see anything on this page? https://www.daz3d.com/subscription/membership/offer
til October of 2025
Except what we paid for the membership doesn't apply anymore. If I throw away my 12 months for 2 of premier, I can't get those months back at the same price. And I'll note that DAZ are the ones who decided the price then and now, not I. Maybe your paltry offer looks good to the bean counters, but it sucks for the customers.
Thank linky works.. thanks... but... I click it and it takes me to the main Premier page... I'm so confused... I guess I'll wait til October of 2025 to decide.. Maybe they will have things sorted by then. :)
Trying to decide what irks me most. I have a daz+ through february but somehow that translates to a whopping one month of premier. (4 months at 9.99=1 month at 18.99? what frickin' math is that?). I also have no clear idea what Daz Premier is as software. Is it ONLY about moving stuff to other programs? If not, what else will regular users not get. I have stuck with daz plus mostly because there were promotions that allowed me to extend at far less than the 70 a year. Is the current 18.99 the regular price? My membership page says my daz+ susbscriptions expires 2/21/25, so by what i am seeing, I won't have to start the 9.99 until then. If that is true, and if premier will then still be 18.99, I will decide then.
I gotta be honest--I own so much that many of these sales seem pointless already because there's just not much I want anymore. My wishlist keeps dropping. I am also not sure I will stick with daz+ if the price is now 120 a year.
Still, the biggest issue--this needed to be presented more clearly. I am not a stupid person, but the info I am seeing is just no all clear (some is, like the difference in tokens) but other stuff, not so much.
Have you tried to log out and log in again?
I currently own most (if not all) of the ManFriday plugins that are equialent to the ones in the Premier version of DS. Will the equivalent ManFriday pugins continue to work in the free Pro version of DS?
ETA: I see Richard doing his best to answer questions but it would be nice if we could get official DAZ answers.
Oh and one other thing. I watched the video and the ability to sculpt in studio is tempting. But I also noticed that mentioned bonus content available for as long as you have a subscription, which essentially means that we are sort of stuck keeping the membership if we want the bonus content, but what exactly IS that bonus content? What exactly am I buying vs what I am, what, renting for whatever time I retain the membership?
They really should have had most if not all of the features and 'exclusive content' ready to roll and clearly explained before launching this thing. Why would anyone subscribe now when so much seems to be coming at a later date? It's like the AI Studio nonsense all over again. Subscribing early just seems a waste at this point.
Already posted about this with screenshot and put in a ticket, apparently you have to contact support in order to subscribe. There is no button or way to "choose" premier. I must say, that why, why isn't there just a button to click on to upgrade? DAZ has a small team, so I would think this would just make more work for them. Maybe I missed something, but my account shows I must contact support in order to subscribe
Just for additional clarity:
The items only available during the membership are items only available to Premier members. Content available to everyone will stay in your account (and usable) forever. So, for example:
- Stuff you already have purchased - In your account still and will stay there
- Stuff you purchase while you're a Premier member - Will stay in your account and be usable even if you don't stay Premier
- Free character bundles you get with your monthly free Character Bundle coupon as a Premier member - Will stay in your account and be usable even if you don't stay Premier
- Exclusive content that will release at the same time as each Character bundle, that will be free for Premier Members (even if they don't buy the bundle), but non Premier users cannot purchase it - Will only be active while your Premier membership is active.
You need the Public Build to use the premier addons, if I got it right. Type "premier" in DIM and install plugins and the Public Build if necessary. Problem: I have to migrate my other plugins from Studio to Public Build...
Geometry Sculptor has the same interface as Mesh Grabber, so I guess it is the new version we were waiting for.
its sad that Daz took from us the Mesh Grabber 4.0 just to release it in a monthly payment of $18. Its become more sad if you think they prevent ManFriday to launch updates for his plugins or new sell new plugins just to put them in Premier.
18$ its to pricey to me.But if they somehow offer HD sculpt and for the love of god a new way to optimize daz3d library they can put price in 50 dolars that i pay with no problem.
From what I can tell, most, if not all, of the Premier features in Daz Studio are just versions of plug-ins you could buy before. Go take a look at Manfriday's Store Page.
It's hard to see this as not honouring the sale price. It's certainly how I perceive it.
If I buy something half price, I expect what I paid for. I don't expect someone to turn round later and decide the sale was irrelevant. Just saying how I feel.
The people most annoyed by this will be the most loyal supporters, exactly the people you want to annoy the least. I really, really hope they can come up with something fair. My current feeling is they aren't being fair, and I can't get the best prices because they haven't been fair so I won't buy anything. I just can't bring myself to do it. Again, sorry, it's just how I feel :(
But I got some fantastic deals last month, so look on the bright side...
Is this true? Are those really the tools which are included in Premium? I already own all of those and surely I'm not the only one. Does DAZ expect people to pay a monthly fee for products we already own? This Premium offer must be the worst subscription ever.
Sadly it Also messed up my DAZ+ subscription. I got a personalized offer without any real offer and the coupon codes are gone.
So a 70% increase in the yearly price of Daz+ membership with no corresponding change to the coupon values? Gee, thanks.
