Actually, it is an increase to:

    - Plugins more tightly integrated, and some available only through Premier

    - Better coupon each month

    - A free Character Bundle Each month

    - Free Premier Exclusive content (other users can't even buy it) for free each time we release a Character Bundle (Even if you don't buy the bundle!)

    - Tokens at a much faster rate (and they last longer now)

I'm thinking maybe based on what actually was paid....dinged for buying at steep discounts, maybe.

I believe you only get credit for what you actually paid.

I doubt it. You see, I got offered a month of Premier for my quarterly Daz+ sub (So, $8/month), which has roughly 1 month left. However,  another forum user (either above or in a related thread) posted they were offered 1 month for their Daz+ that expires mid-2025.

The $19 does include two coupons (at least the $10 on Daz Originals should not be too hard to spent, but the 10 out of 25 feels harder to use than the 6 out of 18 even if it's 40% discount on the $25 spent compared to the 33% on $18) and a free bundle (what's in it is anyone not subscriber guess), so I could see myself getting it. But I need to know more.

I'm in the Premier tier currently, the choice of free bundles for this month is here: https://www.daz3d.com/premier-characters
(Edit to clarify: you get a coupon code to pick one.)

Not sure if that page is personalized or the same for all members. There was exactly one bundle out of six listed that I hadn't already acquired in bits and pieces. So, I found it quite valuable this month, and can see where the value would fall off quickly if you already do a lot of shopping since many of the freebies would be rebuys.

The 10 out of 25 coupon does indeed feel harder to spend. (I spent mine on some long-wishlisted goodies.) It requires a bigger cart, which pushes you to buy stuff you might not really want to seal the deal.

As expected, a totally worthless offer for me given that I own all but two of those Pro Bundles in their entirety and have cherry picked out the base figures and all the items I have any intertest in ages ago.  What does that leave?  In my case - a bland pair of earings from the Pixie bundle, and then a lame tatoo, a dorky expression pack, and a totally laughable warrior outfit from the Lion.  Yeah, that couldn't be considered a good deal even if those items were actually yours to keep, which as part of Premiere, they apparently aren't.

I don't like to tease content early, but I think you might the brand new Character Bundle dropping later this week (yes, it will be available for use with the free Character Bundle coupon) a bit different and exciting :)

Can someone confirm that you need to install the beta of DAZ Studio to use the Premier plugins? I'm in the middle of a few projects and don't really want to have two versions of Studio installed. I probably will subscribe to Premier since my PC+ will expire this month anyway, but I think I'll also wait a few days until all this craziness settles down.

Going forward it will be interesting to see what percentage of good quality content will be 'Premier only', and what dregs will be made available to rest of us. It's not only a matter of prices but also of availability. I expect the tiers will be:-

PA's get access to all tools, Premier get access to new tools, everyone else gets access to legacy tools.

Premier, you mean? Daz+ looks the same to me, but now costs 40% more.

I just upgraded to Premium and don't seem to have access to any of the additional plugins/tools in the program.  The product page has a listing of them, DIM has nothing to download (searched for "premier", along with other keywords and refreshed it several times), nothing on my serial numbers page and the they are not listed in my list of plugins either.  The coupons work, along with the extra tokens (adding Genghis Khan as a test will grant 12 tokens, crazy stuff).  How do we get access to the extra tools?

They are not available yet in Daz Studio. The only way to access them is by installing the Public Beta.  Yes, this is a piece of information Daz should be publicizing instead of letting us wander around frustrated and confused for an hour trying to access the new tools.

Oh I see-it makes sense now that I look at why some are "Inactive."  Well, while that's not ideal, I think Premier is still good to have because of the extra discounts.  I had + before so it made sense to upgrade even if I only have the extra coupons and tokens.

Yeah you need the Beta to use the plugins.  Discounts work right away.

I think the real value in Premier is the extra 10$ discount across the board AND tokens now start at $5 instead of $10 with Daz +.  With double the tokens (or spending half as much for the same amount) you can easily make up the extra $9.99 a month.  This tier is good for anyone who consistently spends and has an interest in additional features.  Plus, it's great to have in program tutorials, too.

Ah, but that's assuming that the Tokens will still have the same buying value.  And as for the product tutorials... Bwwaaaa haaa haaa haaa haaa!  DAZ has made so many promises about adding more tutorials in the past and has always fallen through on those, while most of the ones that did get made were of mediocre quality at best.  These are the people who haven't bothered to update their manuals and user guide since the days of Genesis 2, and didn't want to add metadata to all the Rendo product they flooded the store with because it would be too much work.

This has been my experience.  However, I assume that once 4.23 drops (hopefully later today, but maybe sometime this week) we will have access to the new plugins through regular Daz.

If this was four or five years ago, I'd say sure, it sounds like a good idea. The coupons alone pay for the month, which is how I've always justified my daz+ membership. Now though, I already have the bundles they're giving away for free, so I'm sure that'll be a regular occurrence, so that's out. Stuff in studio itself is unnecessary for me as I do everything in blender because of how inferior daz is for animation, so that doesn't interest me. So really it's just the coupons and the savings on buying stuff, which I have been barely buying anything the past year since I lost my animation jobs to AI in December and haven't found work in the field since. So my joy of 3D has greatly waned and Daz implementing AI made me even less excited. Yesterday I couldn't even convince myself to buy a few items I'd been wanting for awhile on the last day of the sale. I'm back to being more interested in filmmaking only utilizing all the 3D aspects I've learned over the past eight years to do some great special effects and such. So it's hard for me to justify a 20 dollar monthly fee when I just use the coupons every month for the most part, and if I didn't have those, I wouldn't buy anything. So for now, I'll be passing on this. But it is a good deal savings wise for folks who are just coming into Daz.

Awwww... just wanna give you a hug.

To subscribe to premier, I must contact support? considering mine is about to expire and I had planned to renew, I don't want to wait weeks and weeks for an answer...I am not sure if it is on auto renewal.  It does show my subscription status above, so I assume if I dont click the "keep" plan it will just run out and expire? Can someone confirm because I don't want something to charge me without knowing.

Here is what going to the Payment page appears like below.... BTW I like the new Account overview page - looks nice DAZ, just please tell me how to add paypal please! - or do you not accept paypal any longer?  My buttons don't look like others, is that because mine is about to expire?  -->I am going to assume yes.. based on type of sub you had

I am not seeing this page (even though I am paid thru April 2025). All I get is that I'm a base free member and that's it. No offer, no nothing - not even my current active Daz+ sub.

Maybe the offer is based on how much everyone paid for their current Daz+ subscription ?

I think this is probably correct, given how many people have accumulated these extra years by buying discounted subs. Of course members have to weigh up the costs and benefits - is it better to get those free months and then, if they stay, pay the higher sub or is it better to wait out the ending of the existing + sub before deciding - but I don't think it is at all unreasoinable to base the free months on amount paid when that is going to vary so widely.

It's hard to see this as not honouring the sale price. It's certainly how I perceive it.

If I buy something half price, I expect what I paid for. I don't expect someone to turn round later and decide the sale was irrelevant. Just saying how I feel.

The people most annoyed by this will be the most loyal supporters, exactly the people you want to annoy the least. I really, really hope they can come up with something fair. My current feeling is they aren't being fair, and I can't get the best prices because they haven't been fair so I won't buy anything. I just can't bring myself to do it. Again, sorry, it's just how I feel :(

But I got some fantastic deals last month, so look on the bright side...

You are getting what you paid for, if you remain as a + member - nothing is being taken away from you in that respect. The issue is trading in the unused portion of what you purchased for something better.

  • @DAZ_Steve: So when is the Apple Silicon native version of DAZ Studio going to arrive?  Apple is expected to release their 4th generation chips for Mac before the end of the year.  DAZ Studio in its current form doesn't run natively on ANY modern Mac and hasn't for years.  While the current version of DS runs, it doesn't run well (laggy and crashy with poor UI graphics, feature disparity w/PC.)  I don't want more promises, I want a working product.  Get. On. It.

Well, it looks like I could upgrade to Premier for one month or keep my Daz+ going until it expires on 4-19-2025. I'll keep what I have and probably cancel at the end. Getting Daz+ for a year during a discount was a really good deal for someone on a fixed income. Paying a monthly $10 subscription is a lot more expensive in the long run. I'm not sure if it is worth it for me any longer. There is definitely no way I'm paying nearly $19 a month for a software subscription. I don't use programs like Photoshop for that reason. If I can't pay once for a plugin that I want, then I will have to go without it or find something else that will do what I need. I'm going to be pretty upset if features/plugins I already have stop working or are never upgraded because they are part of Studio Premier now. Like everyone else, I'll have to wait and see how this all pans out.

And content that only works if you have a Premier membership? WTAF? How do they disable it if you cancel?

I use DAZ for book illustration (3 published) and have a huge number of assets, but most of the time I am writing, not rendering. A subscription model makes no sense for my kind of use. I feel a real fool for buying a lot of assets recently only to discover that I may be harnessed to an increasingly crippled version of Studio while all the "good stuff" goes into a subscription version. No change at the moment perhaps, but something like a faster or accelerated dForce (similar to Marvellous Designer) as a "subscription only" option would be hurtful in the extreme.

In view of this I won't be throwing good money after bad until I see a clear statement from Daz concerning the future of the non-subscription version of Studio. If Daz won't communicate that vision of the future, then I won't spend money on assets. I think that is clear, rational and concise.

Nothing is being taken away from the Standard/Pro versions of DS, and we can fairly safely assume that any new features listed in the chnage log up to today, at least, will be part of the non-subscription package. I can't see why Daz would ruin the free versions, those would be needed to get people interested enough to sign up for the subscription version.

I haven't seen anything about the tokens offering lower discounts, you just get more and they last longer now (2 weeks).  I didn't even realize the longer extension until I added something to my cart.  It looks like right now everyone also gets double the tokens on the new releases (unless is a super secret Premier perk I have right now).  With just one item at $10.77 you get 4 tokens.  And the 2 tokens you can see I have available will get me an extra 13% off.  If you really buy anything on a regular basis, it's worth it.  More tokens with much MUCH more flexibility is a win/win.  Then you add the free bundle each month.  THEN you add the better monthly coupons that replace the Daz + tier.

By the way, those tokens were acquired yesterday so I'm not sure if it reset the expiration date or it was longer, but 2 weeks is a huge improvement-I have felt the need to decide whether or not to spend my tokens or let them expire and it's caused me to justify spending more than I probably needed to.

They'll sent Richard to knock on your door, and seing he's a cut cat (at least in the funny renders done by @Barbult), you'll open him the door and bam, while your doing other thing, he will rush pawnfully fast to your computer, removing the content you're no longer allowed to use.

(a more down to Earth hypothesis: it'll required either an always online connexion or a connexion a month to update the status of your membership, saving the date at which it'll end in the database used by DIM and Daz Studio).

Don't forget (and I think peeps have...)  That by upgrading to Premier... you/we will be loosing out on 6.00month FREE Daz content for the number amount of months left... I have 12 months... so 12x6.00 =  72.00... am I right?  for a month or two of 10.00 content. I'm gonna wait out my 12months as Daz+... I don't wanna loose 72.00!

I had not even calculated that...not that I was planning to upgrade at that price anyway. Content is expensive enough without adding that additional software rental fee.

Mine said 2 months not 4. My subscription ends 2025-12-06.

It's a different offer for each person.  We take what you paid for the membership you currently have, see how many months of Premier that equates to, then round up (so we give you a full month of Premier instead of a partial one.)

I know I am not the only one who thinks that that is a garbge way to do it.We bought an item for what YOU SOLD IT FOR And now you are devaluing the item you sold us, by offering such paltry returns for what we paid for. That's like having a sale on gold bars worth $5,000 and selling them for $3,000. So when people buy them, you later decide that you now want to sell platinum bars for $15,000 and tell everyone that you will give them a platimum bar, but if you want to trade your gold bars in for the platimum bar it is gonna cost you 7 bars of gold. Completely lame. Not to mention the "benefits" is not completely clear, on what you keep and what you don't if you subscribe and then let it lapse.

You are not the only one ;)

Saw the ads on youtube today about daz premier and Daz4.23 and they left me confused. In the 4.23 ad most of the new features are also showed in the premier ad. Can someone tell us please, which features will be in the regular version and which ones will be paywalled? Or 4.23 will be *the* premier Daz program?

Ninjaedit because I forgot (and according to search no official answer was given - or I'm bad with search):
I can't find annual sub options (Daz+ or premier) anywhere. Is it intentional, no annual option to purchase from now on or just an accident/oversight?

Can Daz Steve or Richard answer this one question.

If I have daz + until february of 25, I won't have to start paying 9.99 for it until then? And at that point I can switch to Premier for 18.99?

I am not seeing this box anywhere... so I guess that means I paid so little for my renewal that it's not worth giving me a deal????  WHERE did you see this box please?

Go to your account page where you see your messages from DAZ there should be an orange  banner message where it will give you a "personalized deal"

I am not seeing a 'personalized deal'.. so i guess I don't get one :(

Don't feel bad. I got an orange banner, but still no personalized offer anyway ;).

as long as it was all-expenses covered I would be fine with that, but I believe the content will need to be installed through Daz Connect (through Daz Studio) and that it will need you to log in occasionally (I don't know how frequently) to keep the content and plug-ins active.

I know it's been said before, but as a general thing I wish folks would just stop thinking we all want to be in endless subscriptions. I want less subscriptions. They tend to lead to more stagnant products.

Developers have to make it worth it to pay for that product again. If they have subscribers, it's a much lower bar to avoid cancellations, and most people just want to maintain access. PC+ as a discount club membership, paid annually, was fine - it generally paid for itself. For some folks, new users, maybe the new program will offer similar value. But I don't like tying software features to the subscription - I would rather buy those features outright.

My Daz+ sub was good through May 1st.  I upgraded to Premier and my sub is still good through April 29th.  So, good there.  All my new benefits are showing up.  The problem I'm having is the coupon code for the free bundle for this month is saying it's invalid.

Can anyone else confirm this?  Specifically, if our existing Daz+ subscriptions, with associated expiry dates, remain in place should someone wish to subscribe to Premier?  This is relevant for those that might want to try it out but don't want to lose their existing Daz+ memberships, thas having their existing Daz+ membership to fall back on if they decide that Premier is not for them and they decide to opt out, but still do the Daz+ thing with the Daz+ membership renewal that they previously purchased.

If this is indeed the case, the variation in the number of free months being offered might make a bit more sense, as it could be based on how much you've been buying stuff from the store lately, as opposed to how many months of your Daz+ membership that you may have left.

Just looking for clarification here, for those that might want to know how this works.

Still looking for clarification here, no one has responded.  To restate my questions succinctly:

    1) If I click the 'remain Daz+' button, will my existing expiry date for my Daz+ membership still be honored?  And will I NOT be billed $9.99/month until said expiry date?

    2) If someone chooses to try out Daz Premier, perhaps taking advantage of the 'x months of Premier free' offer, but decide it's not for them and cancel Premier, will the previously existing Daz+ membership expiry date remain in force If someone then chooses to downgrads back to Daz+?  I.E. if your Daz+ expiry date was say in 2025-2029, would said date still be honored as both parties, i.e. the customer and Daz3D.com, have previously agreed to?

I have other questions, but I seek answers to these two questions specifically.
