Yes. Now i installed the 4.23 release which dropped just right now into DIM. I installed the plugins for it (from DIM). I started the 4.23 final and it told me that daz has to be restarted in order for newly authorized plugins to be working. I restarted it. I am connected. But nothing... i feel like a noob lol

  • I just read at the daz plus section at my account page this:

    Tier: Daz Plus

    Price: $9.99

    Subscription Ends: 2025-02-08

What does this mean?? I have paid already up to that date, will they force me to pay twice by paying the new subscription amount also???? I have ALREADY paid until 2025 - 02 - 25, will NOT pay again. Please, could a mod answer this? is the price 9.99 a bug or do they just mean that that's the cost after that date? please reply. This worries me. I will NOT pay a bill of they send one. Not paying twice for the same time. And do I need to cancel auto renewal ? have NOT signed up for it. If I need to cancel - how do I do that?

[EDIT] ... Ah, I must have missed the bit where DAZ Studio 4.23 is subscription only. Guess that's the beginning of the end for my 20 year relationship with DAZ.

I'm even more confused now, where did you read or heard this bit?

That's the price you'll pay after your existing membership expires. You don't have to pay anything extra until then.

Is these 4 months a standard offer everyone gets, and then a number of months are added depending on how many months is left of your DAZ+ subscription?  Or is this offer based on my DAZ+ subscription?  I have about 15 months left of it.

Paid here until February next year - got a months subcription. After years and years of being a very loyals customer. They could have had any amount of month on offer though, not interested.

    Unless I'd be mistaken:
4.23 is still free, BUT if you like to have some advanced plugins with it, like the sculpting functions (Mesh Grabber 4?) or the advanced export options, you will need the premier subscription, in order to unlock those plugins.
It will basically be a DS-pro version, but on subscription.

That is indicating that your current subscription is active until Feb 8th. You won't be charged anything between now and then. If you want to continue your membership beyond that date, you will want to be sure to set it up for auto-renewal (you can do this by clicking the "auto-renew plan" in the Daz+ box.)  If you are not currently set up for auto-renewal, you'll see a line under the auto-renewal option that states that your membership will end of 2025-02-08.  If you are already set up on auto renewal, you will instead see an option to cancel your membership.  This will keep the current membership in place until its expiration date, but will set it not to auto-renew after that date.

Basically, you're all set until February, and won't be charged anything more unless you want to after that.

I'm flabbergasted, and somewhat disgusted. Seriously. I was planning to get back into Daz in a couple of months (when I was hoping  a few things in my life would be sorted). I'm not going to bother. I'm going to stick with 2D.

You should've just made it a flat-out subscription service, instead of beating about the bush with different tiers.

So, I get a couple of plugins I already own - kind of, I got ManFirday's dForce Companion, Mesh Grabber and Render Queue, and my existing DAZ+ membership is not valued (reads: not counted as the value it still has).

I do have quite a lot of content (4.5 TByte in total), and was spending quite a bit of money per year. I think I will stop that now, DAZ managed to lose my confidence in being a company valuing their customers. Once my DAZ+ expires, I will most likey be out.

Hmm .. some CMS stuff might not be working correctly. I Noticed that the plugin file inside the plugin folder dates back to 03/10... maybe DIM didnt rly write the files into the folder .. what a mess ...

So, at $18.98 a month, that's $227.76 a year and no way mentioned to get that at a lower price, versus Prime which renews at $70.00 a year with multiple options to get the renewall for much less.  Looking at the supposed benefits... I'm not seeing a great appeal, especially since most of the things that are being offered as promos like the Gen 9 base units and, apparently, a good portion of the monthly bundles, are things that have been out forever and which a lot of the target consumer is likely to already have.  So, exactly what is it that we'd be paying four times as much for...?  DAZ needs to demote the person who put the promo together as it really doesn't make Premiere sound like much of a benefit.

What I want to know is whether there is still an annual subscription available. Everything on the site just talks about a monthly sub for $9.99 or whatever.

The Premiere sub sounds all right if one is just starting out and needs content. But DAZ+ is more than adequate for someone whose content library had already gone into levels of redundant.

    1. I am not interested in renting software.

    2. I am not interested in renting assets.

    3. I am not interested in having to be online to render.

    4. The subscription page in my account shows the basic free tier despite having paid for Daz+ well into the future. Also, the details of my membership (dates, etc) are no longer visible.

    5. I have a "Personalized Offer" in my messages that leads to the above non-functional subscription page.

    6. This experienced has soured my excitement and enthusiasm for the Daz+ sale and shopping here in general. How can I be excited when Daz is upending the status quo and possibly becoming something with which I no longer wish to engage? And when the launch is such a disaster - and offers so little information - as to make it difficult to determine whether that is the case or not?

My feelings exactly. I'm going to have to think long and hard on this and it's not looking good for Daz on my part. Of course, if they lose me, it's not that big a deal for them, because my spending has decreased in recent months (inflation is a b***h).

My feeling also. This new, sorry, money grabbing daz - not the daz I used to know and love. I get they need to make a profit but there is easier and better ways to do that - not by making your customers angry and sad. And I am not a daz owner and I don't work there, so I do NOT need to worry about them making enough money - I just know that this is not the daz I used to know and love. I loved being a daz plus member so much, to feel that I treated myself to get the best or one of the best discounts here, now that's gone. Now I only get the next best and that's NOT the same. AT ALL. I will never support a subscription based software - Adobe scared me off that. SO - either I can pay for daz plus - same price as before - one year at time with no renewal - to decide each year by myself if I want to renew it w no hassle of cancelling my subscription OR no money from me except the 3d models I buy. That's the choice they have. And - me deciding that one year I don't want to buy another - was NOT going to happen ever. NOW - yep, goodbye sayonara farewell. Just around to buy stuff, no membership money from this, before this, loyal customers. Sorry for all this, in a bad place in my life and my fanart made w daz IS my life, what I live for, so this is SERIOUS to me. This effects me very much in a bad way.

    In DIM pasting

    rx::ci::^Premier -

into the filter box should show the Premier add-ons (I am told). In Daz Studio, once they are installed, you have logged in, and restarted DS, they can be accessed as folows:

Geo Sculptor shows up in the Tools menu (remember that it disables any GeoGraft's mesh hiding and won't show interpolated hairs for dForce/Strand Based Hair)
Pose converter shows up in Edit  menu / Figure / Pose
Shape transfer shows up in Edit menu / Figure / Shape
DForce manager shows up in Simulation Settings pane / Manage
Render queue shows up on Render Settings pane / Queue

    Edited to fix error

So a 70% increase in the yearly price of Daz+ membership with no corresponding change to the coupon values? Gee, thanks.

Actually, it is an increase to:

    - Plugins more tightly integrated, and some available only through Premier

    - Better coupon each month

    - A free Character Bundle Each month

    - Free Premier Exclusive content (other users can't even buy it) for free each time we release a Character Bundle (Even if you don't buy the bundle!)

    - Tokens at a much faster rate (and they last longer now)

Premier, you mean? Daz+ looks the same to me, but now costs 40% more.

I keep trying and failing to wrap my head around it.

At a time when current Daz+ members are logging in to this forum and saying "Daz, things in the store keep getting more expensive, why aren't the monthly coupons scaling to match?" and "I'm not sure I'm going to renew my Daz+ membership, it doesn't seem to be worth it," Daz's solution is to... raise the cost of Daz+.

And not a little raise, something palatable like an extra $10 a year, something to keep pace with inflation... no, it's a massive $50 price hike, nearly doubled in cost.

I honestly don't see any point or reason for it other than "because we can."

I thought Daz was better than that.

It is a lot worse than double because of the steep discounts the yearly membership was offered for. I think over the last few years I paid an average of about $20 for a yearly membership, so if it is is now 120, that is a 6 fold increase. Naturally they could discount the monthly membership at some point in the future, but looking at other monthly subscription services, that is rare. The best you can hope for is a a few months free if you sign up for at least a year, but time will tell if better deals come along. All the more reason I will not be jumping at this pretty awful deal I have been offered so far. I am good for another 18 months in PC+, which is fine as long as they don't make it a worse service than right now.

I use DAZ for book illustration (3 published) and have a huge number of assets, but most of the time I am writing, not rendering. A subscription model makes no sense for my kind of use. I feel a real fool for buying a lot of assets recently only to discover that I may be harnessed to an increasingly crippled version of Studio while all the "good stuff" goes into a subscription version. No change at the moment perhaps, but something like a faster or accelerated dForce (similar to Marvellous Designer) as a "subscription only" option would be hurtful in the extreme.

In view of this I won't be throwing good money after bad until I see a clear statement from Daz concerning the future of the non-subscription version of Studio. If Daz won't communicate that vision of the future, then I won't spend money on assets. I think that is clear, rational and concise.

Same here. I need to hear a clear statement from them - what will happen w the free no subsciption daz studio? will it be the same - get all the updates, or will we, w a free daz - miss out on all the good stuff? not buying anymore here until we hear from them on this.

I just wish they had increased the price. We get too much for free. The Premier should be 100$ a month. Daz has the best render engine of any engine on the market. Its soo streamlined and beats Unreal. This is a FaNtAsTiC offer. Thank you Daz! heart

I am not personally affected much not being DAZ+

just a dearer price if I choose to subscribe so less incentive to do so (shrug)

as I said the first page of this thread, DAZ just missed a huge opportunity to peddle the Dforce curve hair and HDmorph plugin to non PAs for a premium subscription that is only enabled while they pay, they might have even lured me in with that

It should not matter what we paid...

If DAZ+ is now $9.99 a month, then each month we have remaining is valued at $9.99.

If we are not being given the full value of our subscription, then it's a BAD DEAL!

    Agree 1000%

When the Daz+ sub was bought at a reduced rate, people still got a set time to get the perks. Now Daz is saying that if you got a Daz+ sub on sale, it's not worth what you would have gotten had their been no Premiere upgrade. That's nuts and I'm not even sure it's really 100% legal. Either way, I don't care. I don't rent software and I sure as heck don't rent content. I'll either keep my Daz+ until it runs out or I'll just blow off the store altogether, let my sub run out (if it ever comes back up as active in my account again - it's disappeared right now) and never look back. It's been a nice almost 28 year ride (if I include Zygote). I'll let all my freebies up on ShareCG for as long as they'll host them and as long as they work in whatever version of Daz you try to use them in. Haven't been pleased with the store lately anyway as they turned what was a quality store into basically the Rendo "flea market". Of course, they got some top quality PA's like Fabi, Deecey and others, but they cheapened even those products by bringing over less talented sellers as well. I didn't say anything earlier because I wanted to be nice, but honestly, after this stunt, I'm not feeling so nice right now. The once top quality Daz store has turned into all the others that still exist - a blend of really talented artists mixed in with some truly dreadful products. Shame. But, I have other hobbies. Cheaper ones. I'm gonna try not to fret over it too much.

Thanks for the reply, I see what you describe at the auto renewal button - which I have NOT clicked. I will not click it either - so that means that my daz plus is until  2025-02-08, after that I am a base member? So no need to cancel auto renewal as I don't have it? is that correct? I have not clicked auto renewal.
