Yeah, I did a quick check to see if there was a favorable bundle, but after that it was an easy nope from me. I was more commenting on the absurdity of the design.
Did you already report this? I'm not seeing a report from us to Daz.
No, I didn't report it to you in the sales errors thread.
+1, I agree! Absurd design!
Judging from what does and doesn't work from my wishlist, it looks like the criteria for the grab bag sale are simple: Every item released on or before December 31, 2019, with a base price under $30, that is not in any other sale, is in the grab bag.
Are you kidding me?! Fine, if you insist, I accept! LDs. When they're hot, they're hot! And the Edward 8 bundle dropped to $5 in my cart!
I dropped in 1 token and it ended sort of like this. Average $6/pro bundle is pretty good!
Well done! Enjoy!!
Thank you @SilverGirl! I appreciate that!
Seems DAZ decided that there will be no present for the 31st, as the 30th is the last date mentioned today... so here my nominees for the next-to-last "nearly priceless presents of 2024":
The #1 and totally priceless slot is taken by P3D Sigrid for G8F (SKU 78998, Base Price again $ 19.95) and the slightly less priceless slot is the #2, Melantha Wings for G8 (SKU 84445, Base Price $ 11.95), which made my choice, again, quite easy.
Due to the 31st being no longer being shown, I pre-decided between the two eligible DOs in my wishlist and removed one of them. Let's see what happens tomorrow, when the DAZlanders are (maybe) back in office and maybe decide to put the 31st back in the race... or not...

Okay, so it's not just me then... other people remember the 31st originally being on there too?
Yes, it was still there yesterday, just gone today.
Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November/December
All the rest have thirty one
Excepting February alone
Which has only twenth-eight days clear
And twenty-nine in each leap year
While October of thirty two avails
To allow for double Halloween Sales
Put the 32nd of October in your calendars, everyone, and hope that by then December hasn't grown to 33 days.
As I adjusted my wishlist to have an DO item for each day shown in the calender offer, I can answer this with a "yay!"
Maybe they unexpected ran out of gifts...
We did report the missing day earlier this morning.
LOL!!!!!
ROFL even....
https://www.daz3d.com/frozen-lake-cabin is a whopping 2GB download. 1.93Gb due to 149 8k jpg textures. Normal maps are 25.4mb up to 104mb. There are over 30 solid-color 8k jpgs - Black or light grey, a few are normal map purple (is that a real color?) and one is white. They will eat a lot of VRAM and I'll probably resize them to some tiny size, 1x1 or 8x8px sounds good. I'll have to think about resizing the good maps to 4k. It will be a problem when the product is updated, too. >_>
On the bright side, it's gorgeous and it renders pretty quickly. So, cheers to that! The scene itself can load as a whole and a lot of the pieces can be used as separate props. Also, I finally learned to navigate large scenes quickly using WSADQE keys and the directional spinner in the preview window. I discovered that a while ago. I imagine it was noted somewhere, but I never saw it. What else to say? Not bad for $1.79!
Thanks for pointing this out!
I don't think my system is going to handle this very well. It's in my cart right now, but I'm having second thoughts about it.
I have a 3060 and it's handling the scene pretty well. When I add characters and more stuff, we'll see what happens. It might really be time to look into scene optimizers.

YAY for Totte and his utilities
It also suffers from "random diagonal boards nailed all over" syndrome. I think artists mean this to be a "realistic" detail, but I find it to be quite the opposite. Same with random gaps in structures meant to protect from the elements.
But with punches, it is quite cheap. I'm thinking about buying it for the frozen lake scene, which looks quite nice.
Thanks Wendy! I was also looking at https://www.daz3d.com/scene-optimizer
It all looks quite nice. Some of those huge maps do serve a purpose!
Thanks for that link, WendyLuvsCatz! I have his Instancify script, which I use a lot. This looks like another set of useful tools.
I did chuckle at the description, which paints the cabin as "cozy" and having "warm charm."
The scene is definitely lovely in its own way, and would be great for the use you mentioned. Unfortunately not something that fits in my story, but I'm sure others will do cool things with it.
The laziest possible effort that took under 3 minutes to render with an hdr sky and a little matte fog looks surprisingly good. This is going to be a lot of fun, actually.
