Morning. Gonnna be hot today :)

...warmed up a bit here, not quite what you will be getting but almost feels tropical compared to the last several days.

Advance forecast again shows snow Wednesday and Thursday, total of 4" - 8" over both days, but I bet tomorrow it will be back to clear and cold again like it's done every other day.  At least it won't start on Tuesday like earlier forecasts indicated as I have an event to go to that evening.

I am trying to watch football, play with Monique in DS, listen to Christmas music and browse the web all at the same time.

Edit deleted Monique's bra top when meaning to change her hairstyle.

...wow Panthers won after getting smashed by Seattle last week.  Seattle likewise is on the receiving end of a drubbing at the hands of Green Bay. Seattle's QB Wilson has been intercepted four times.  Packers are up 28 - 3 with  just over four min left in the 3rd Quarter..

...saw that in some pregame shots of Giants Stadium.

Wow I really don't believe what I just saw.

The Green Bay Packers, who have muddled through most of the season and looked to be out of contention only a few weeks ago have won their third straight and in a big way, defeating a Seattle 38 - 10.   Aaron Rodgers torched the highly rated Seattle defence for three touchdowns while the Seahawks' Quarterback, Russell Wilson, was intercepted a total of 5 times by a Green Bay defence that has been seen as being pretty soft and disorganised most of the season.  Even when Seattle looked to score a "garbage" touchdown late in the foruth quarter Green Bay's defence denied them, forcing a fumble with just over a minute left in the game.  Don't know what turned them around but today they looked like a team that could win it all, and against a pretty tough opponent with a winning record.

As I mentioned in an email to a friend, "Looks like I may have to pull that fork out which I stuck into them several weeks ago".

(I miss talking sports with Ed).

Heh - as we speak its -21C outside, with a wind chill of -23 (last night when we walked over to Mass it was -23C with a windchill of -28C - much to be said for good down parkas, ushankas, scraves and wrm boots..) Supposed to warm up to -8C by the end of the week, goodbye Arctic Outflow one hopes!

No argument on freezing rain - thats evil.. Not much of that here, but we do get a lot of packed down snow that is almost glacial in sots on the roads.. which is why come October its:

and they stay on until the late April

    kyoto kid said:

...well the snow turned to that evil freezing rain. The tram lines are out of commission  because of ice on the overhead wires. This is the one thing I miss about snow back in Wisconsin.  It snowed it stopped and all was fine none of this "transitional" freezing rain rubbish. I would prefer 10" of snow over 1/4" of ice.

...sadly they allow studded tyres here In Portland where maybe we get a couple inches a year at best.  Most of the winter here (I would say 95% of it), the streets are bare and wet so all they usually do is gouge up the road surface, especially when they are on large vans, heavy SUV's, and those monster diesel pickups.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin and Minnesota where they actually get several months of "real winter", studded tyres are illegal.

It's only down to 20F  (-6C) here this morning but we do have about 2 feet of snow.  Elsewhere in the county, up on the "ridges" they've got 3 feet or more.  This county is right in the middle of that purple patch at the end of the red arrow.

We're supposed to get 1 to 3 inches overnight, but then rain will come and wash it away by mid to late morning.  It's the beginning, though.

    Food for thot.

  • Complaint:  I've been binge watching the TV series "Person Of Interest" that ran for several years.   I'm up to the 2012 series.    I actually like it.  It's got a nerd and a disgruntled ex CIA guy and a good cop and bad cop working as a team and has differently interesting plots each week.  Well, at least for most of the first year then they introduced a genius, uncatchable supervillian. sad  I am so over the genius, uncatchable supervillian plot schtick.  angry It seems that was the plot du-jour for desperate writers a few years back.  indecision

I'm with you there - I hate when they meddle with a working base premise purely for the sake of "mixing it up". At least with POI, they re-meddle and it gets better (IMHO). But stil I miss those old days when it was just one man and "the machine" . . .

Are those real or 3d cgi?

  • But Moriarty is in only one story, off-stage at that. At least until SH went out of copyright and the adpators went wild he was permanently missing after the Reichenbach Falls as far as I recall (the next story had one of his henchmen as the villain).
