Working on finishing up Sol....let me say, I'm impressed with how she looks under the BOSS lights. Holy crow. I'll post the render after work when it's done!
*Goes through all thread from the beginning, then casually sets up camp in the middle of the room* Nobody noticed I wasn't here from the beginning, right? ;)
Yes, that nose tip is a bit rough, I don't know if I can ease that out a bit on the bump/normal side of things or if I'll have to try and paint over it completely and re-make the bump/normals.
SO- on the topic of beta testers!
I've done this twice before, but I think it's a good way to go about it. I'm going to surprise one of my followers here per product and ask if they would like to test out a character for me (run them through the ringer, report bend issues, bad path call outs (like missing textures or morphs), that sort of thing) before I submit them to PASS for Daz. It worked out so well with Mari and Iain, and it was enjoyable working with Novica and Llynara so much that I'd like to keep this going. Anyone that wants on the list, post here and I'll put together an excel sheet here and keep tabs. Once the list is exhausted, I'll start over! (there are lots of characters waiting to be made!)
I can't wait to see the finished version of Sol, I'm sure she's beautiful and fits right in with the rest of the pack :D
I'm very interested in Sol, she was looking pretty gorgeous last glimpse we had of her. I'm always looking for good, non white, skins and her skin looks lovely so far.
That's pretty cool! I did a face paint on one of my characters using photoshop, and had a lot of fun with it. Yet another thing I would like to explore further.
I did mine in layers over the skin template in Photoshop. In you case in Gimp. Just make sure that you save the one you are working on under a different name (Like, Maria Tatoo or something) so you don't accidentally overwrite the original
and always save the psd file- that way if you do save over the original (like I have, just yesterday) you can re-open PS and the PSD file and re-save the original. ;)
Thank you! I went off of the idea that melatonin in darker skin is at a higher content, so it scars much easier than pale skin with less melatonin in it and various photos of dark skinned people with ink and scarring to get the idea of how they'd look once rendered.

In case anyone wants to see a WIP of a tattoo progress- this is the 1/4 mark of another one:
Nice selections- I'll see what I can come up with! Thank you. :)

I have made tattoos before but never knew how to place it on one of my models yet.

Belly Tattoo:
Other arm tattoo:
Neck tat.......and seam to fix. Lol. Good thing I decided to add the little fairy otherwise I woulda forgot to check that seam.
Love the three dimensional feel of some of those tatoos. The added texture really adds to the realism as well.

Oh, I love those tattoos! Nicely done! :)
Thank you! working on the head/neck seam now. lol SEAMS.
I'm really liking the tattoo options! Sweet work! :D
I've made a couple of different texture sets ...but the seams are awful. I need to learn how to do seams.
