I am so frustrated today. Same last night.
I don't know if anyone likes me in this home. Nice home though. Once the electrical problems and other problems work out.

Drawing with a mouse (And thus without a tablet) sucks XD
Especially when it comes to frills.... I have trouble drawing foldy wrinkly frills XD And sadly this species has LOTS of them XD
I was having a particularly difficult time drawing the frills on the throat, which is especially apparent in the "Happy" emotion box (RIght by my tail, with his forked tongue sticking out.) where it looks... Very weird XD

That's not bad for drawing with a mouse. There isn't a lot of control with a mouse. I wish I had a nice tablet. Well, maybe someday.

Also playing with a new font I downloaded. Took a paragraph from one of my writings, tossed it into Google Translate and picked a language at random that would produce standard characters (Which would leave Japanese, Greek, Hebrew, and so on out.), then pasted that into OpenOffice to swap out a few syllables and letters before finally pasting that into Photoshop using the new font (Drawn Old English).

Finally, I pulled out some dirt masks from my 3DTotal collections and blended them in various ways that produced nice looking results o3o

Where'd you get the font? It looks pretty cool.

I have to learn more about Photoshop.

    Okay you asked, Complaint:

Cold enough for frost on everything this morning which is pretty but makes my bones ache.
I have a semi-nagging headache that asprin just will not touch and I'm not allowed to take other meds for it.
I'm getting a sore throat and tickly little cough to go with it, hope it goes away soon, I hate colds.

Other than those I'm fine today. How are all you?

...OK, save for the reminder bots to this thread taking another holiday. Makes me wonder just what maintenance was done. Heard the store is all wonky again and the store search no longer works. Some using IE are having trouble adding things to their carts. Seems site devel. is breaking more things than they are fixing as the ongoing "Saga of the Magento Upgrade" stumbles on sort of forward, then sometimes backwards. Nine months of this rubbish is becoming very, very, old now.

    Still no galleries
Still no sortable full page itemised order history (and the new download manager interferes with Taozen's History Manager app).
    Store search now broken
    Avatars still broken.
    Random logouts still occurring
    Pricing glitches still occurring
Still no posted expiration date for sale pricing.

For a company so dependent on Net sales, this cannot be good for the bottom line.

Other than that, rather nice day again today, Seasonably cool but the sun is out and little to no wind. Good day to run the weekly errands.

Slept well last night. At the Hotspot this morning downloading a few goodies I bought (not using the DIM). SickleYield's Rigging and Morphing system is out but will have to wait until payday so on the wishlist for now.

Also saw the preview for the forthcoming AIko5. While she looks nice, wasn't sure I'd be interested until I saw the dynamic Kimono and Geisha character. Seems she is weighted towards a more realistic instead of anime appearance (they already have Hitomi covering that angle anyway). With the A3 body shape for Genesis and GenX I'll be able to use my extensive A3 wardrobe and character library with her as well.

A Genesis based XinXin, Sylfie, Filthy Fae, and Mentha are just too good to pass on.

I wonder if this explains the continual sales-sales-sales... desperation to shore up said bottom line.

(while sales are nice, and it gives one the opportunity to pick up things that one might have passed over before, and it's nice for the newer members of the store to be able to pick up things that us oldies already have, it _is_ possible to have too much of a good thing >_<. imho it trains customers to never buy at full-price because "it'll be on sale sometime later, and I don't _really_ need New Shiny(tm) right now, do I?" - otoh it _also_ trains customers to hoard, because "oh it's on sale, I _might_ need it in the future, so I should probably get New Shiny(tm) now while it's on sale..."... I wonder if that all balances out (`.`)>... It also must be a bit disappointing for the vendors as well - still, a 50% sale of a product is better than a 0% sale, I guess <(`.`)...).</p>

*meh* Monday morning, warm (27degC pre-dawn o.0), dark and spitting a bit (o.O)... just enough to wash the windscreen, and no doubt to increase the road crash statistics (v_v).

...I've already fallen into the "it is" or "will be" on sale soon mode. Without the old voucher system anymore though I cannot help but feel the PAs are feeling the pinch more.

Waiting for March Madness, but not sure how much I will really be buying this time around because of the elimination of vouchers and changes to the PC. Used to be that being PC member offered extra discounts and specials. Now that PC benefits and coupon offers are restricted to only Daz Original items, that could affect overall sales this year. 50% off of a 40 - 50$ set or bundle is still a lot of money for this one's budget.

I think I've found maybe one voucher that worked since the Great Changeover - otherwise, that aspect of PC membership is totally useless to me.

    The font itself: http://www.fontspace.com/phantomhive-company/drawn-old-english

And thanks for the compliments on the image ^_^

Following is a screenshot I took of it (With only the text layer enabled though). I also made use of Photoshop's "Displacement" filter. Greyscaled the texture, then saved it as a PSD (It won't work otherwise for some stupid reason) then used that to displace the text. Subtle difference but it was effective.
Used some white/black dirt masks to fade the text as well.

    Thanks =)
You don't need a very nice tablet actually. I got myself a cheap $60 Wacom Bamboo and it's served me well for years now. Not a thing has gone wrong with it ^_^
Heck, I got an expensive tablet for Christmas a few years back that came with a lot of software (Photoshop Elements 8 included) and I only used it once o_O
My tiny cheap tablet is all I need ^_^

Aaand finally the text I used for the image, just for the curious (I doubt anyone is)

Dragons must receive permission from humans or elves before working their magics on them. While this is not widely known outside of dragon communities, it has led to the well known belief that older dragons are tricksters and engaging one in conversation can be every bit as dangerous as engaging one in armed combat.

I fed it into Google Translate using the Czech translation e3e

That sounds like a lot of work, but I know it probably is not as bad as it sounds. I've done things with layers, and it's fun...and productive. I haven't tried paths (still don't quite get it), but I have some stitches resource made for use with paths...I think I got them at RDNA.

Wacom is the brand I want to get some day. But I'd like to get the higher end Intuos model. (not sure if I spelled that right...too lazy to go look it up).

Still using meh own writing for the passages ^_^

The runic circle thingy is my own design, and unlike the text on the paper, the text on the ring is meaningless gibberish and serves only to look cool ^_^

...OK, as I mentioned over on the Stupid thread I think I just did a stupid thing.

Posted a journal entry that expressed my concerns over having pics of mine faved to galleries primarily containing explicit content.

It's hard enough just to show my characters in swimsuits as most of them (Leela in particular) are teenagers.

I have a lot of respect for women and strongly dislike objectification.

Tastefully done artistic nudes are one thing and I have no objection to them as like I mentioned in my entry, they have been a staple of art for a long time.

The whole notion scares me as there are no ways to filter faves and it almost makes me want to take everything off and close out my membership there. However since Daz (which as an excellent TOS) no longer supports galleries, I have no other place to show my work.

...I've tried that before bu had difficulty getting images accepted.

Sometimes I wish the old ArtZone was still around.

Just one more nice thing lost with the Magento downgrade.

...this is feeling less and less like "home" everyday.
