i'm too tired to install Essense, Tamesis, royal prince, or Aiko5. too tired to keep reaching for the shift key.

heating up a quick cup a chickee rice soup, zzzzzzz

@ Woolyloach... Damn, sorry to hear about the foot injury and the troubles it is causing.

If we still lived near each other I would definitely be volunteering to help out with transportation and such things. Wish you well.

    Much appreciated! :cheese:

Thankfully I'm down to one rolling duffel bag and a backpack now.. everything of worth went to friends :red: what's left is trash, really.

Two bags is my travel weight. :)

Sorry to hear about your foot, Wooly! No feeling? Does that have something to do with the diabetes? I keep hearing about how important it is to keep an eye on the feet of a person with diabetes, but never understood the reasoning behind it.

Anyway, I hope you heal up quickly!

Not to answer a question for Wooly, but as a diabetic, I am all too familiar with the numbness, periodic pain, and slowness of healing in the ankles and feet that comes with diabetes. Here's a good overview of the problem from the American Diabetes Association.

    Yikes! :gulp:

    Thanks! :)

It could be a lot worse, actually.. no infection, no serious internal bleeding, just the one bone done in. A little surgery and I'll be fine.

Here's the bad part: if you have elevated blood sugar - over 180 - for a long time, it causes nerve and organ damage. So far my organs are fine p caught it before things went REAL bad - but my feet have almost zero sensation. :blank: The feet, for some darn stupid reason, are the first to get the nerve loss (called neuropathy). I have a touch in my hands so I can't really play stringed instruments, but I can still play synthesizer, and type like a bandit! :cheese:

Heart, kidneys, liver, etc. are in fine shape and my meds keep my blood sugar down under 140, which for a diabetic is WONDERFUL. :cheese: They managed to catch it in time and I respond very well to the meds.. no need to shoot up insulin. Which is good as needles (used) to terrify me. :-S

50 years ago I'd have been walking dead.. but thanks to research I'll live long enough to annoy the carp out of everyone! :P

Well, and also I quit most carbs, exercise more, drink less beer, almost zero sugar intake.. :-S I really miss rice. BUT - I can still eat 2 slices of pizza and have a beer and not go over 180! :cheese:

...a lot of what I was going to try to donate will end up in the trash because I can't get to Goodwill now.

    Argh. Just.. feh.

Isn't there someone who could come and pick it up? I mean, if there's a lot of it, maybe they wouldn't want to let it go like that. It might be worth a call. Sometimes they send around trucks or vans to pick things up.

It's Monday, and lordy do I have complaints! :bug:

I somehow managed to fracture a bone in my foot Saturday, and because I have little feeling in it, walked around on it all day. Ended up massively swollen and I went into the ER Sunday at 5AM. :ahhh: They thought it was an infection at first, but the x-ray showed a compound fracture of the bones in the right side of my left foot. :bug: So, I'm at home today, icing the darn foot, with a HUGR Frankenstein type medical boot to wear when I go back to work tomorrow. :blank: :blank:

Surgery sometime next week, from the look of things. I see a podiatrist Friday to consult about the thing. Feh. Feh. Feh.

And I STILL have to move out Thursday - a lot of what I was going to try to donate will end up in the trash because I can't get to Goodwill now.

    Argh. Just.. feh.

*hugs* Doesn't sound good at all - especially the Frankenstein part, hops that doesn't spread  Hate to know you are in pain, hope that is a little better for you by now.

    Thanks! :) :)

The boot is actually crazy cool! It takes all the weight the foot would hold and transmits it/distributes it across the leg, so no weight goes to where the break is. It LOOKS like a bondage boot :red: :red: and the sole is 3 inches thick :blank: :blank: but it's actually mostly kind of comfy. %-P

Very little pain thanks to my neuropathy.. just very annoying twinges as my foot tires to tell me I was a freaking idiot. :-S

This is what it looks like: http://www.oandp.com/shop/product.asp?supplier_id=014A20FB-FFD5-4EFC-B9EE-7BF0F97C661C&product_id=615E30EE-6FF1-4437-A053-4FEB16152FE8&department_id=A25F4AA0-98B0-490B-8FD6-3DCA565DBA23

No more casts! Hooray modern medical science!

Wee, since I'm stuck at home I've sat down and installed the Bryce and Carrara training DVD stuff, installed all my new content, installed the IDL lighting stuff for Poser, installed all the Uber-lights for DS4.5, and will back everything up next. :bug:

Then it's nap-time. I need to keep my foot up as much as possible, so my running around today is no further than the kitchen and bathroom. :blank:

Thankfully I loaded up on heat-n-0eat goodies (meatloaf, fried chicken, egg rools, Buffalo wings, and a pizza) so I may get tired and bored but I won't starve! :cheese:

Tomorrow is going to suck - taxi to/from work for the next 2 days, then move via taxi Thursday morning, work in the afternoon, work Friday morning and the doc Friday afternoon. :blank:

Likely to spend all weekend holed up in my new place, not going anywhere but the BBQ place up the road. Ugh. :blank:

Buffalo haz wings? Heh sorry BBQ sounds real good, save some roasted pumpkin for me :)

    Ooooh roasted pumpkins! :cheese: :cheese:

Heck, son, didn't you know buffalo in Texas can fly? ;-P

...OK it's four days before payday, then again I still had my February PC coupon. Got the starter bundle for less than the price of the basic A5 figure.

....guess it will be grilled cheezies and tots for the rest of the week.
