It's Friday, Friday! :cheese: And you've gotta get down on Friday! :-P %-P :P

Didn't sleep well last night, but still feeling mostly OK today. Neck is bothering me a lot so I'm considering coughing up cash to go for a nice massage (not the naughty kind!!). Going to be in the 80s today, wheeeeeee!

I'm glad I can sleep in tomorrow, I swear, I need to catch up on my snoozing! This old loach needs his rest..

Debug, debug, debug today. Quite a challenging problem to solve, guess that's why I get the big bucks.. :blank:

    or something more aroma therapeutic?

    what to do today?

converting configuration screengrabs from 24 T1 cards into an excel spreadsheet.
    Sounds exciting, yes?
and the LIU cards and alert reports. i'm gonna make it pretty!

screen shots? the data can't be retrieved programatically in a usable format?

i can only get the ascii text via a serial port, and i would have to wait for a tech to do it all for me - i'm not in the union can't touch the pretties.

not so bad, I'm using OCR from adobe acrobat.

i'm making an access database and an entry form, actually it's going to be faster to just type in the info. will need a verify data entry form, too. yep. job security, lol.

first i have to identify all the fields needed.

shouldn't be that many.. but then its been a couple years since I had to configure a T1

oh, you're familiar with the configuration speak?
if i show the fields list, would you critique? i'm almost complete, ... i think.

sure I can take a look at it..

    Thanks :)

well like I said its been a few years, and I'm a hands on visual type person. labels and text in a forum doesn't quite put it in context for my brain to process. and based on what google has spit out, there's not much "user" configuration of the LIU to do.

a soak in a hot tub or hot bath (with epsom salts) might help loosen the neck tension.
    or something more aroma therapeutic?

That sounds reasonable too, as long as I propped my hurt foot up out of the hot water. :)

Fortunately the skin isn't broken on the foot, but because of the swelling I need to keep it iced down when at home, so putting a swollen foot into a hot tub wouldn't be too good. That's why I figured a nice massage, focus on the neck and shoulders. :)

Yeah - no insurance+diabetes = suckage. At least most of my supplies are inexpensive. I just need to stay healthy enough to work, so I can pay off bills and save some for the next stupid emergency. :blank:

Cold chicken fajita taco for breakfast and a diet Coke. Digestive system hating on me for something I ate yesterday. Didn't get a lot of writing done last night. Foot faintly achy. Runny nose due to allergies. Neck sore from sleeping funny, what little sleep I managed to get last night. Don't feel like working, wish I were back in my little writers cave, asleep. I'm bored, tired, and filled to the brim with a listless ennui. :blank: :blank:

    Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

But I did get to use the term "listless ennui" in a sentence! :cheese:

I am having sympathy neck pains, Wooly. I woke up this morning with the delicate scent of Tennessee skunk wafting through the heat pump into the house. Nothing enhances eau de skunk like warming it up. I went with my Mom's cure - putting a small bowl of vinegar next to each vent (it works). Wish the cure for skunk-related head- and neck-ache were as simple. :shut:

...that is beautiful and huge. An absolute treasure as it is the largest Father Willis instrument in the southern hemisphere. I am glad they saved it as t6his instrument represents an important era in organ history. All too often here in the States, when there is a renovation of a hall or church, the original organ is either sold or even disposed of and replaced with a new instrument (which sometimes is a digital facsimile of the real thing).

Hopefully there will be a recording of the re-dedication concert.

at one point, i did try Olivia in DS4, but forgot to test her body morphs to see if it read in DS.

...well not so much a complaint but some bad news.

As I mentioned in previous posts concerning loss of the client at the company I work, the inevitable occurred today.

I am now among the ranks of the unemployed. It really wasn't a big shock as things have become so slow everyone (of the "hourly" staff) has gone on reduced hours and required to take unpaid days off.

It is not a sacking, but a layoff so I can qualify for UC benefits.

To me this illustrates just how important this client was to the firm. They provided a steady stable workflow, in a sense were our "Bread & Butter" that helped us through the lean times (particularly during the last four years of the "Great Recession"). More than half the warehouse is empty and the production area which used to be a bustling hive of activity has become more like a tomb. Even in the digital print department things are so slow that the supervisor there was considering calling the afternoon/evening shift personnel to tell them not to come in.

Pretty much all the people left are the exempt (salaried) staff, and even a few of them (like my old supervisor) are apprehensive about their future.

Personally, I fear the company may not survive through the summer as that is usually the slowest time of the year.

Mid April would have been my eighteenth year so at least I have a good work history coupled with over fifteen years at my residence which shows stability.

The parting was actually quite congenial and I received a bonus of two weeks vacation pay along with the hours I worked this week They even paid me for the full day today. So I have a sizable bank deposit to make this afternoon and with my tax refund will have a nice cushion to fall back on.

Yeah, it's sad in a way, but then it gives me the opportunity to find something on my side of the West Hills and ditch the lengthy commute I've been dealing with all these years. Love to find something within biking distance as not only will I get back in shape but save over 100$ a month.

Going to take the next week at leisure (actually planned to take it as a vacation week anyway) get things in order, file for my tax return, and open my UC claim.

The other thing, I now have lots of time now to finish installing everything and setting up the runtimes on the workstation.

...and have time to maybe get back into kite flying again.

So mixed emotions about the whole situation but not as much a downer as it would have been.

...shoot, I can stay up late now and actually try to have that post to roll the thread over.

Ugh.. well, I'm glad you got a nice cash cushion on the way out the door, and I'm *really* glad you can get unemployment.. that should be a help.

But still, it's never fun to get let go, so I'll be sending all the extra positive vibes I have out your way. HANG IN THERE!!!! :cheese:

I hope you find a kick-ass job soon!

    ...thank you.

One thing, I'll be posting lots of new pics once the the "Installapalooza" is complete.

...and finally will be able to work (no holds barred) with IBL, Reality/Lux and creating clothing content of my own design with MarvelousDesigner2/PP2012.

...and do I have a fun idea to kick everything off. (no spoilers).

:0 :) dude at day job came back from Paris, he gave me a small satchel of Herbs d'Provence. yumma yumma. now i need something to cook with it.

if i get off the bus at Bestbuy, i could run in check out the tablets and then go to the Stop & Shop for food shopping, then take the taxi rest of the way home. There's a B&N over there, too. can't stay long though, my buppy is waiting home for me.

cyas on the other side of the bus journey! :)

Try to stay upbeat! I hope you find something quickly. I've been out of work so long I think nobody will ever want me. It's scary. And I'm not doing too well with the website, either. Keep bumping into a problem that I can't figure out. Starting over is a difficult thing. I hope you can find something you like to do, and that has a big demand!

What's the shape of the problem that's causing issues? (or is it something you really want to nut out yourself?).
