Morning. Wild weather here the past 24 hours.
Yes it works, the settings are in the Surfaces Editor pane
...thanks.
All these years I've been at this and I still feel like a n00b with 4.5.
The more I work with it the more I feel they are getting things right. For one thing the newest 3Delight renders pretty darn fast when you have the extra threads and memory to spare. The pic of Kelly I did above which made use of UE lighting finished in something like six minutes even with that long hair and the transmaps in the Woodland Realms Playset. That would have choked and sent up the red flag on the old system.
The Genesis figure has a lot of new options, everything else is pretty much the same
....Biguana drop? ^_^;
Haha, pretty much a Work-In-Progress... Paused Indigo to save the image, applied a few of my favorite post-work techniques to it, then resumed the Indigo render-in-progress to let it clean up more while I posted the WIP. I'm impatient =3
Teh techniques?
one was a simple Nik Color Effex filter stack
Soft Focus + Sunlight
(Soft Focus was default, Sunlight I changed the temperature to 5776k, Contrast to 50%, and Light Strength to 33%)
second was selecting the Red Channel, then duplicating it and setting it to Overlay. Guassian Blurred it to 40pixels, then set to 36% blending.
Nice work!

Nice work!
Dana
Thanks ^_^
Still, isn't much to say about lighting.... Since I've only got Indigo's default Sun Light doing all this XD
5 hours rendering, gave up and canceled the render. Disabled "Aperture Diffraction" and the coloring/brightness was a bit different... But the image cleared up in only 30 minutes >_<
Hardly any fireflies either (Some, but they're not as bad as before). There was this one spot on the ground with AD enabled... That was reaaally bright and noisy... I'm assuming it was coming from the windows reflecting light onto the ground (Indigo does some neat tricks with reflections and light), but it was far from being cleared up - disabling it removed that bright spot almost entirely - not all the way, but most of it.
Mornin :)
busy trolling the mm ketchup stuff. short 26 cents for the daz squirrel. doh, my kingdom for 26 cents. oh well, i'd need a ninja outfit for it anyways.
he's a handsome bloke :)
iz like Springgish outside :) it's a nice day to hike 2 1/2 miles for the daz squirrel, and pick up cream cheese to make carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
the carrot cake recipe i have haz no raisins. i like raisins in carrot cake. ginger powder and some cardamom to make chai tea. a lil detour will bring my path to the Wine Shack, last time i went, they didn't have Sardasol.
but with the rascally Easter bunny about, is any carrot cake safe?
*waves* Got woke up by cold breeze through the window, thinks autumn is here at last  Three dead in wild weather in my 'hood the past 24, what a day.
Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone.
A lovely Friday in Austin, Texas - warmish, sunnyish, a nice day to go out and run the 8000 errands I have to do. :gulp:
If I can get everything done today, it's a writing/composing weekend! :cheese:
Time to finish my coffee, get dressed, and chase down the next bus.. run run run all over today. :-S
I hope the new Japanese place is open for lunch once I reach it... :)
Looks good to me! So, what is Indigo in? I really have to do something, it's been a long time. But I'm entrenched in getting my website going.

...hmm seems there is a lot of this going around in the promos lately. They used to list what all was used in the promo pics. Rendo does that, Daz should too.
Nice character MATs those would work good. Raiys's store was just on sale too (bugger). Can't afford the full price so I'll have to wait and see if there is going to be a "Kvetchup" sale at the end of all this.
As I mentioned i still do have the Lotus Flower character (which I originally used for the Gen 4 version which has very similar makeup to Geishas) As long as I set the UV to V4, they should work.
Currently having a bit of fun with Toon Amy. I really need to get everything installed but finding again how much fun it is to create new characters & scenes. I cannot only mix & match clothing & props, but characters now as well.
Also getting ready to start on my first RRRR challenge entry in some time.
Time has come today. :)

you do your best to prepare, but sometimes it's too powerful.

It's an unbiased render engine like LuxRay I guess, but a bit more expensive (As in: Not free :P )
Currently they only have exporters for SketchUp, Cinema 4D, 3DSMax, Maya, Blender, and something called RevIt.
The pluggy is built into C4D so I don't even hafta leave the program to do the renders and test renders, but lately I've been preferring to do the test renders in C4D but the final renders in Indigo standalone. Reason is that you can pause, save, and resume renders in Indigo but not in the C4D plugin :B Also is easier to change the camera models, ISO, and tonemapping in Indigo ^^; Seems a bit faster too.
Also attached is a "Neat trick with lights" I did in Indigo some time back using a default glass material and a single light
aww i iz making a date with a certain silvery squirrel :) :)

Thanks for the info.
That is neat. I wonder if I could get that in DS using the refraction values for glass. Hmmm...

Morning. Wow quiet and still and sunny today but cool (at last!) and definitely an autumny kinda feel in the air, there is a row of pigeons sunning themselves on the roof next door :)
Japanese sounds real good :)
Hey great :)
Hurr hurr okay so I don't drink wine, but I'd so buy this just for decoration XD
Wino dragons? What's the World of Fantasy coming to? These modern-day draggies, tsk tsk...
What else are they supposed to do? It's not like they can go around catching crap on fire or biting people's fingers off, they'll be put in jail and that's no fun for a dragon. I hear they have dragon fights in jail that pay out big bucks and the guards don't give a crap how many dragons get killed in the fights, so what's a dragon to do, drink.

Also crafting and selling stuff like these wine-bottle holders brings in extra shinies for dragons that hoard stuff =P
Artist dragons! XD

It is a nice piece of - tableware?
...well Friday seems to be a big complaint day.
First of all received a message that Norton IS on my workstation needed to be updated. So I log off the net on the notebook, stick the modem in the workstation, and click on the update link to find I have to DL a 195 MB file with my terrible connectivity from home (as I cannot take the workstation to the hotspot). As usual throughput was terrible and my best estimate based on the average rate came to about six to seven hours. So, I decided to cancel the process and run it overnight. Simple nes pas?
Well non.
Now I was monitoring the flow through my modem's diagnostics, and once I clicked on the cancel button, not only did the process not cease, but suddenly there as a lot of "upload" activity. When I clicked on the close button it gave me another pop up that asked if I wanted to abort the process (several of these had already appeared to which I responded "Yes"). After that, the "X" button and the F4 hotkey close were locked out and the process just continued while my modem kept indicating a lot of upload traffic. Feeling it may take a few minutes I let it go but after about 15 minutes, I felt something must be wrong. After finally getting a clear enough connection to get Norton online help and maintenance chat, it took nearly another two hours for both the rep and a tech to finally get the update screen to shut down so I could close everything else out and shut the machine down (I had plans to go out for a while this afternoon as it was a nice day). In the end I was given a link to where I could download the update material to my notebook at the hotspot for manual install on the workstation later (I installed Norton IS on it as there will be times I need to go online directly from it to register software & updates as well as DL flash Player for the PP 2012 Library function, and I won't do so unprotected).
OK so my afternoon was pretty much trashed. Still went out to enjoy what I could of what daylight was left.
So I get home, make dinner fire up the notebook and get on line to pick a few MM items in the Kvetchup sale using my credit form the ones I received a refund for only to find my connectivity went totally to Hades. Well it turned out to be an evening of hell as I could not get a decent stable connection to save my life for nearly two hours (finally got a one only about ten minutes ago). I went to my provider's site to file a report about this but forgot the password (I rarely ever go to the main site). Clicked on the "I don't remember my password" link got a new temporary password emailed to me, entered my plan number (which is the username) with the new password and received a "login mismatch" error. The last thing I needed after this afternoon's experience was yet another runaround.
Barely was able to get my order in before the 11:59 Daz Time deadline but wasn't able to add the last item I wanted due to the horribly slow connection (worse than usual) that I was dealing with
Something has either began to interfere with the signal more than usual in the last few months or the node is having serious issues, but because of some stupid sign in glitch, I was unable to report it. This means I have to waste part of my day tomorrow (when I'd rather be outside relaxing) to make a special trip to downtown to go to the main local office and try to file a report there. Since I have to go in may as well take the modem and have them take a look at it as well (for all the good it may do).
Not very happy tonight. Could use a drink right now but it's too late and I'm too tired (and disgusted) to go out.
Sorry to hear about all that trouble, KK. I wish I could help somehow, but I'd actually be in the same boat, except for the connection speed. I still have unfinished business with Norton. I got another email tonight from them, with a phone number to call if I want to do it that way (I think I do). I just don't know when I want to spend that time.
Dana
That doesn't sound too good, perhaps a hardware solution like for example using a router, if you have one, to port-forward and a activating gaming-type DMZ setup might be appropriate for you :)

Working on replacing the texture for the Morphing Python with some new textures.
I am not looking forward to the head part e3e
Haha, The body was easy (And still in progress) but the head? Meeps! It just seems impossible XD
Also still using Indigo to render this~ Luving Indigo X3
Looking good (I'm assuming the tail end), more shiny/reflect perhaps? :)
