Back on internet. I was unable to get on the last two days. I am now back at the library. Returned some books and got on the computer.

*waves* So many books, so little time :)

    I've been wondering...where's the tongue?

    Dana

Ask whoever modeled the snake :P

Haha, AncestorsRelic said the very same thing really. But it's there - it's just really tiny and stuffed away in the mouth so its barely visible (And that's where it will always be. No way to pull it out, yet there is a material zone for it =/ )

He did make this poseable snake-tongue http://ancestorsrelic.deviantart.com/art/Snake-Tongue-for-Poser-DAZ-Studio-361532920

If I had used the python by now, I'd already have known that the tongue wasn't so good. Thanks for the info, I found it at his ShareCG page.

    Dana

Yeah most Poser snake models are lacking with the tongue area =/

I downloaded and installed his poseable tongue but meh InterposerPro can't read it. The folder comes up empty (Even though it claims its occuopied - and the .cr2 and thumbnail won't show up), and trying to manually import the cr2 results in a "Filetype not supported" error ><<br /> *sighs*

I made do with using the MilDragon's forked tongue and an FFD Deformer to adjust its pose though :meow:

I've observed a lot of snakes through the years (holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology - no, really!). Normally a snake that is about to strike doesn't have the tongue extended. Typically the tongue is retracted when the mouth is open, and extends only when the mouth is closed. There is a nice short article on the subject at this link:

Maybe a version number problem, changing version to = 4 will work perhaps? the declaration should be at the start of the file, you can load a copy into a text editor and have a look :)

It's not really about to strike anything actually, at least that wasn't the intention =3

That MIGHT be the problem! D:
I'm not really up to closing and restarting CInema just to check to see if changing it works, but I'll keep it in mind~

Ah yeah and this, I forgot I was talking with a friend on SKype about that snake maw.

Rowan/Kelen: Well, they do extend the tongue occassionally after feeding and their jaws are still open...
Rowan/Kelen: It seems to be a reflex, as they do it even though they cannot reach their vomeronasal organ with their mouths open.

It WAS shortly after the snake had a meal so... XD

But yeah isn't meant to be supah realistic or anything. Is fun art! :vampire:

Interesting... Setting it from 6, to 4, to even 2 did nothing....

...But once I took it out of the Animals/Runtime/libraries/PROPS directory and put it in the /libraries/CHARACTER directory, it showed up. All three "versions" too =/

    Mmph. =P

...well had, a pretty good day. High made it to the forecast of 76°. Had a nice relaxing ride. Stopped at my ISP's centre in town and told them about the issues I am having, had them look at the modem and discovered that it is the root of my connectivity ills. Apparently, there is a small red dot on the device which indicates it is on its last (it has been getting hot as of late as well usually when connectivity was slow). When he showed me a new one, the dot was white. Never considered it meant anything (actually thought it was red because I got pasta sauce on it one evening). So told me a few experiments to try for now (one of which I am using tonight and it is helping a bit) and because I took out insurance on it, I can get a replacement later this week. So sounds like all will good again.

Before going home stopped at the neighbouhood brewpub for a couple pints out in the sun.

So later went over to see a couple friends and they had this really rude PS3 game called "Pain". Basically the object is to launch this character into a city set using a huge slingshot like construct and inflict untold pain on him and in the process, cause as much collateral damage as possible. Very nutty game but absolutely hilarious and a lot of sadistic fun. Depending on the type of day you had, it also could be somewhat therapeutic to launch people into buildings and have them flattened by anything from cars to a giant bowling ball.. There are of course ad ons like other sets to fling your character into, different characters, and different game modes (like Mime Throwing).

A really, really, really big moth got into the living room while I opened the door to peek outside when I saw it was raining. The thin darted all over the room clonking into the walls and lights with an audible "thunk" each time (Honestly, I actually winced each time I saw it ram head on into the walls. Poor thing) before calming down and perching on a vase. It went nuts a few minutes later, going back zipping around the room before perching in the flowers again. Shortly later I heard it buzzing about a ton as it scurried across the mirror behind the vase, then it ducked back into the potted plant again.

It had such a pretty pattern on its wings =3

I like moths. The big ones are especially pretty.

Also an update on my image. =3
    Got the curtains looking pretty~

*edit* Hmm I sorta liked the other view better. Had a clearer view of his mouth =3
Oh well. Been going for three hours and fifty minutes and the next sampling update is scheduled in about two hours... No way I'm re-rendering the entire thing now just for a minor camera angle thing!

...well don't have it yet (the claim must be processed t their office) but one of the suggestions I was given seems to work for now. Basically I have the modem in a steel colander (not the screen mesh type) and it does seem to help. Didn't get any timeouts or resets last night and both last night and today my email/inbox opened a lot faster.

Bright sunny morning today, should reach the mid 70s again.

A colander? That's odd. Did you try a foil hat? %-P What is the colander supposed to do? Does it act like an antenna? I guess that could work. The foil hat would be more to screen out interference...but I guess it would block the wireless signal, too.

...yes, it actually acts like a mini dish behind the modem. I just have it sitting upright on the desk with the modem in the centre. Actually been getting a couple bars from time to time which I never see at home. The colander is made of stainless steel. I tried foil before as someone else suggested, but reception was still somewhat spotty. Maybe it has something to do with the smooth parabolic polished metal surface.

Heck with the foil hat, when the alien apocalypse begins, make sure you have lots of stainless steel cookware and bowls.

A complaint: the weather went nuts and took Easter for Christmas: we have at least 10 inches of snow coating the ground and it's getting thicker and thicker with every minute o.O A trip for holiday lunch at my almost-in-laws - living like ten minutes of sloooow walk away - was more like an Arctic adventure lasting more than half an hour, in dense blizzard. I don't wear make-up except for such occasions, and I truly wish I didn't wear non-waterproof mascara today, because I ended up looking like a snowman with clownn-like makeup ^^' It's all so weird, and it's not even April's Fool yet...
