A complaint: the weather went nuts and took Easter for Christmas: we have at least 10 inches of snow coating the ground and it's getting thicker and thicker with every minute o.O A trip for holiday lunch at my almost-in-laws - living like ten minutes of sloooow walk away - was more like an Arctic adventure lasting more than half an hour, in dense blizzard. I don't wear make-up except for such occasions, and I truly wish I didn't wear non-waterproof mascara today, because I ended up looking like a snowman with clownn-like makeup ^^' It's all so weird, and it's not even April's Fool yet...

Cooled down here as well, tho haven't seen anyone with Panda-Eye today so far

...made it to 73° today. Quaffed several pints of my local brewpub's excellent wheat ale. Beautiful afternoon .

Leaf buds on the trees beginning to burst , lots of flowering trees already in bloom, girls on bikes in shorts, life is beginning to return to this soggy region,

    Wow! Mondo calculations! :bug:

It always starts off quickly, then with each "pass" it takes just as long to finish. Like when it had gone for 36 minutes the next sampling update was expected in 34 - 40 minutes, and when two hours had passed the next update was expected in two hours.

    *flops*
    With only one light in the scene - the sunlight - there's a lot of grain to clean up ^_^;

22 hours and 30 minutes rendering, and next sampling update expected in another 22 hours? *huffs*

Indigo RT, and only a single Sunlight. Aperture Diffraction enabled, which was in hindsight probably unneeded and a bad idea 8-/

It's supposed to represent my friend's pet python "Julius Squeasar", but a but bigger :3 He's a royal/ball python and so plenty smaller. Why is there no Royal Python texture for this guy? D=
Sure there's one in the "Cold Blooded" add-on pack, but it hardly looks anything like a royal. Photo of Squeasar attached as well :3

It looks quite good! I don't know if I'd want to wait that long for a render. It would mean I couldn't do much else with my computer for all that time. I couldn't do that.

If you want to travel sitting down, yes, everything is real crowded here you have to wait for the next not crowded bus or tram or train :)

Some places its's close! Late in the evening here in Austin there are buses that only run every 2 hours, in Sunnyvale there were some "twice a day" routes - miss it and you're SOL. :blank:

I'd go for a bus stop with a nice comfy bed. :)

    Some adjustments made.

Also my first time using the MLT-Bidirectional render method (Prior to this I only used Pathtracing), and my first time using Exit Portals.

Only 45 minutes render time, and it achieved what Pathtracing w/o Exit-Portals took almost 10 hours to do :snake:

Back in the 80's I had a Toyota that I bought new, my first brand new car. It was a Toyota Starlet. They made them from 1981 to 1984 I think. Mine was a 1981. I got 51 mpg with that car. The gas needle broke, and I had to estimate how much gas I had. Do you know how embarrassing it is to run out of gas in a car that gets 51 mpg? :red: :red: :red: :red: :red:

About as embarrassing as running out of fuel the wrong side of a railway crossing on a fairly narrow industrial estate road in the rush hour, with the petrol Station being about a ¼ mile the other side of the crossing I would guess. No pedestrian bridge to cross the railway line, so had to wait for trains to pass and gates to open in each direction :red:, and yes an economical car as well.

...I believe our transit system will be the first to test this concept.

Of course, more bus service will need to be reduced to cover the costs of implementation should they adopt the new programme.

...interesting, we can hope. However as I understand, the next update of Reality/Lux will include handling for SSS.

...well in the Bummer of a Monday dept. Logged on to declare my first week's UC claim (what is called the "waiting week" - no benefits) and told that, as I did not declare the week previous (so there is supposedly now a "gap" of time that needed to be accounted for), I have to restart my claim. Waitaminute, wasn't I told everything was set?

Now, I held off reporting the first week after I was laid off, as I received several letters which mentioned that I had to see an intake worker as the next part of the process.

So last week I went to the orientation and was assigned an intake worker where mentioned that I didn't declare the previous week. He told me that would be fine, and I could use last week (23rd - 30th) as the "waiting week" week as long as I filed first thing in the new week. Now I am told I have to restart my claim. Excuse me?

The real irritant in all this is that I cannot do so online, I have to call them. I do not have a phone and in these days of cell/wireless, the once ubiquitous phone booth has become about as scarce as water in the mid Sahara (Superman must be having a really rough time these days, maybe he uses the loo now: "This is a job for *flushflooshgurgle* SUPERMAN"). They let you sign up, file your weekly claim, and look for work (and even submit resume's applications) online, but to deal with this I have to make a bloody stupid phone call.

So my choices are, hunt around the neighbourhood for a pay phone (where I'm not drowned out by traffic noise), or spend another 5$ bus fare, plus several hours of my day going out to the burbs (where the centre is located), to deal with this after I was told everything was OK and my claim was ready to go.

Do these people know where their left foot is?

Probably not. But we know! It's either in their mouths, or up their a**es! It might be a plan to delay giving money because they don't have any left! :blank:

I hope you get it sorted out without too much trouble.

...I'm just a bit miffed that they have to make me use such an archaic device like a phone to deal with this. I guess I should be glad I don't have to post them a hand written signed letter (which would first go from Portland, 160 miles up to Seattle for presort, then back down to Salem OR which is 50 miles south of Portland).
