Cool. Don't get many of those.
Makes me wonder what kind of wild animal and insect noises you might hear at night down under, out your way, if any?
This week it has been the usual nightly noises up here in the mountains... The chirp of crickets, the haunting hooting of the owls, the rustle of bat wings in the trees, a possum rustling the underbrush, raccoons performing their nightly gymnastics and strong man routines, the romp of deer, and howling of coyotes. At times I suppose you could say it is down right noisy at night here. Good thing animals don't have stereo systems. *wink* Although, I wouldn't put it past the raccoons. I never hear the mountain lion, though, but the evidence is sometimes there in the morning.
I live in the urban Pacific Northwest, so lots of traffic and siren noises at night. I am adapted to this. When I visit the rural South I just mentally substitute "crickets, cicadas, and owls" and I'm fine. :D
I adore cicadas. They look like alien invaders and they are so, so benign.
That is kind of cool!

Almost missed this. That is pretty Cool!
...really nice work. The bottom one looks kind of like an uncle I remember.
OK here's the re lit scene of the kid. It is a bit darker, but fits the mood and I think makes her look that much more dangerous. Still need to add her blades. (will do that tonight).
Used four mesh lights (the four lanterns in the set) two specular lights (stage right & stage left) and one linear point light as the "helper" .
The set originally came with an array of something like 20 spot & distant lights to create pretty much the same effect.

I used to live in the 'urban' Pacific Northwest before moving out into the 'wilds'. I know what you mean about substituting sounds. ;-)
As it happens, I first encountered cicadas when I was vacationing down south in a small town and was surprised at how loud and constant they were. It was also unnerving when they would suddenly stop and it would be so unexpectedly quiet. I got used to it, though. :)
Morning. Warm day and sunny here under a big bright blue sky :)

I never liked those light sets that had so many lights involved. All my images (not that there are a lot of them) have only two or three lights, with a possible exception or two.
Looks good. I wouldn't want to walk into that dojo unannounced.

You know, I had a feeling he wasn't a nice guy!

He had it comin'.

Yes way to go, mostly less is more :)
Well, the first wave of storms passed through my area with a lot of thunder and some wind and a downpour but quiet now. More to come, though, and unless they change their minds, the National Weather Service has me under Tornado Watch until 2 am.
So far so good. Not as lucky in Alabama and Georgia, though. I'm about 40 miles east of Chattanooga.

Fruitbats at night make the spookiest sounds, their flapping wings sound like ghostly footfalls in the sky, and we haz cicadas with real loud voices Apart from those car alarms howling like wounded creatures in the middle of the night - we're right in Melbourne city centre so the wildlife here tends to be wheeled of two-legged  This morning at dawn a flock of crows was making a huge racket over something, they live on top of some highrises in the next street :)
I'll be having a good thought for you :)

Checked it out at DA and commented. :)
Tornado Watch called off early (yay!). Now only distant rumbly to the east, and rain. Big sighs...thanks for thoughts.
Wishing you blue skies from now on, tjohn.
Thank you, Anne, and wishing you the same.
Glad to hear it.
More clear sky wishes coming your way.

Rain is (mostly) a welcome novelty for us, I like to walk in it and look at reflections of the sky in puddles :)

Non-complaint: I already posted this gif I found on the web in the Stupid Thread, but I'm putting it here 'cause it cracks me up.
