It's Friday, Friday! And you gotta get down on Friday! *Rebecca Black flashback*

Feeling iffy, I had a bit of a cold yesterday and today I'm doped u on Dayquil.. urgh.. it's going to be a looooong day.

Stupid DAZ and stupid Product Library made me take 10 minutes to figure out how to download what I just bought! :blank:

Slept most of Friday, it was good for me  I used a nasal spray, seemed to stop the sneezies for a while at least :)

Trick question! It's the White Stripes and their clones doing a Beatles cosplay.

Paul is dead anyway. He was eaten by a Walrus. I agree, I think they are nothing but clones and all of the real Beatles live in Antarctica with Hitler's brain and female aliens from Venus.

Has anyone checked their account page today? DAZ3D has eliminated the Downloadable Products section! They've found a way to force us to agree to the new EULA even for old products. And it seems like maybe the DIM will be forced upon us as well. You will no longer be able to renew your downloads. You'll have to search through the Product Library to find it and just download it.

Yet another major change they've made without notifying us first! I guess we can forget about that ever happening again!

Give it a chance. I really like it. There are a few upgrades that need to be done, but I think a step in the right direction.

Um? You can still get download links by clicking on the product in the list, and now you can sort and search the list. It's true that installers are going away so if you don't want to manually extract from zips you will need to use the DIM, but as long as you don't mind zips you won't.

I am so in favor of the zips. At last, no more constant unchecking to prevent an unnecessary icon being added to my desktop...

I have no desire to use the DIM, and have always said that content should just be zip files anyway.

I finally broke down and agreed to the new EULA, even though it goes against the grain to agree to a new legally binding agreement when all past purchases already had legally binding agreements that were agreed to at the time of purchase. It opens us up to Darth Vader type tactics..."I have altered the deal. Pray I do not alter it further." Anyway, I see that it has product title sorting now. It's about time!

Kevin has said all along that if people did not like the new, less strict EULA then they could always carry on using the older, more restrictive one, even though they have agreed to the new one.

It seems a couple of bundles I bought are not listed, including:

    Victoria 4 GW1-4 Male Bundle
    Victoria 4.1 Pro Bundle
    Wasp and Did 2.0 Bundle
    World Gardens Japan Bundle

    Not cheap stuff, there.

I seem to remember DAZ_Ann, or whatever they've named her recently (poor girl must have an identity crisis) saying that she let her daughter use DS and the content she has bought. The new agreement makes it quite clear that only the original purchaser has the right to use the content, albeit on an unlimited number of computers/hard drives. I have no children, and Diane isn't interested in using the stuff, so it doesn't matter to me.

Besides, it's just the principle of the thing, not what's written in the EULA. That's what I kept saying when this discussion first started a few months ago.

Anyway, I'm glad I don't have to use the DIM. And I'm elated that everything will be zip files! Is the conversion done now, or do they still have a lot to do?

Dana, have you checked the product library to see if the individual parts of the bundles are listed separately? If not, "ticket time" and I'm sure the items will be restored for you "soon".
When I first discovered DAZ years ago, I picked up lots of free items. The ones that I had to check out though the store to dl free are in my product library list now, even the lo-res Victoria 1.0 and the lo-res Millennium Gorilla, among others.
I would have appreciated a heads-up from Daz on the changes, but as I seldom read the announcements at the tops of the Forum page, maybe they did announce it. I'm so easily distracted...oooo, shiny!

I'm not sure if it's fully done, the list available in DIM seems to have grown every time I've looked so they've been plugging away which must mean it's at least close by now.

W00t. Should make for slightly smaller files without the need to have the installer code, but given that probably wasn't bulky I don't expect a huge difference.

The zips seem to be five and a bit MB smaller than the equivalent installers - not much for an item with textures, but a huge change for pose sets.
