...I basically left a comment in the New Product Library thread to the effect that Daz needs to roll back to the previous format (which they could do since it was set up in Magento), as people are starting to find bugs with the library setup and the DIM is still a beta (which is why the username glitch doesn't surprise me). The DIM needs to be fixed first and then the content library needs to be tested to the death before releasing. Do they have any testers at all? I'd gladly work for them at what my last job paid me to spend my workdays trying to break their software.

...during a good part of the MM sale, something was buggering with the HM so I don't have a complete up to date list.

...so how come others are able to get the installer to correctly format their username, but I can't? If Daz insists on using one's email addy as the store login name, then the "@" character should transfer over. This is why I am so hesitant to jump on new beta software. I still have a bad lingering taste from the whole Studio 3Advanced mess (which I paid for).

I think you're wasting your key presses. Once they've made a change to the website, they will not revert it. And honestly, I doubt the old one was a standard Magento module. I think they've been doing a lot of custom coding on this site.

Unfortunately, almost all the software here is beta...even when they put it up for final release.

It is odd that it changed the "@" symbol to a regular "a".

Why don't you sort it by date, newest first (the white arrow will point down - the default)? You should be able to see what you missed with the History Manager that way.

...I also missed when the last update was rolled out (due to issues related to the DIM rollout) and I added a lot of stuff since then.

The sidebar list only shows something like 30 items or so. That means a lot of manual paging to go through.

...and because that list is not set up in a table format, it simply cannot be copied and pasted into Excel, which means it all has to be key entered by hand into my spreadsheet.

They are basically taking something that should be a simple task and turned it into a royal pain in the bum.

I just copied everything in the first page and pasted into Excel! You have to start at the end of the last item in the list, click and drag up to the first item, highlight it entirely, then copy. It worked for me. If you start at the top, it seems to insist on copying the filter box and buttons.

Someone down the road from us has a bright pink one, have also seen a nice purple one.

Multi colored (decorated) ones are also quite popular, especially for the older beetles.

Haha sounds a lot like the current state of affairs on DeviantART.

So much fierce hatred for their "More Like This" feature which went from annoying to outright intrusive - more so than the ads that non-premium members get. Not only can you not disable it - free member or no - but it promotes OTHER artists more than yours, it's thumbnails are larger and more abundant than the "more from THIS artist" and it comes first. They finally "gave in" and made thumbnails smaller.... At the cost of adding more than twice the number of other people's art in the panel ><

Heh, and they're completely ignoring every single question regarding it. They're dead set on keeping it, much to the disdain of more than half the community.

The one thing they did remove was a site-wide banning of specific sites in comments. I wanted to link back to a friend's submission on Fur Affinity, and it blocked the post saying "The system thinks your post is spam." and continued to refuse the posting until I removed the link. Apparently DA blacklisted all of FA and disallowed anyone from linking to the site or its forum in comments.

What I find funny about this is the blacklisting only lasted a day - if even that - and the reason they removed it is the best part: "We received a lot of complaints about our decision to do so."
So they're willing to listen to those complaints but not the ones you're getting about the awful "Moar leik dees"? I can only imagine the sort of complaints they were getting XD

Taozen's History Manager was a nice utility, very simple and "to the point"

The library should lend itself to some advanced screen scraping so maybe there will be a new version?

...one can only hope. On the left side of the preview window there is an alphabetised list off all all the content, but there is no option for a larger page size like e had before and I'm not going to manually slog through 33 pages. Also some people have already have experienced the search engine not pulling up content they know they have, so there are definitely bugs in the works. they have made this more complicated than it needs to be thus forcing people to rely on the DIM.

...and speaking of the DIM, when I tried to fire it up, apparently a typo crept in on the email username which is causing a mismatch error and to make things even more inconvenient, there is no option to correct it. The only solution I can think of is to uninstall and reinstall the bloody thing which is ridiculous.

Taozen's History manager allowed for manual corrections.

    ...bad, bad programming.

and have you tried adding a new account with the correct email? Just click the + button at the bottom of the Accounts tab of preferences. Oddly, it will let you edit thee mail for the second and subsequent accounts so it does look like a bug that should be fixed, but it's simple enough to work around.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I don't have an account at DA. Now and then I get a link to a piece of art and I follow it, but then I close it and that's that. There have been a small number of freebies I've downloaded from there. I don't think I've used any of them ever.

...I thought that would just open a brand new account rather than let me access my original one which would do one of two things:

I would receive an error that there is already an account with that name (which occurs on pretty much most sites).

A totally new account with no transaction history would be opened.

I am still a bit stymied that I have to deal with this while others did not.

Since Dana found me a solution to build the list I need I will go with that for now and then file a support ticket about this.

Actually Kyoto, there's a filter box above the list, and you can type in what you're looking for.

Also, now they've got the Purchase Date button, so if it's something recent you're looking for, click that and it will show up at, or near, the top of the list.

No, it won't duplicate - all you are doing is telling the Install Manager which email to use to log in to the server. Sicne you gave it an invalid email it isn't doing anything, and you are free to set up an account using the right email instead.

I thought that you would only have to get a couple of pages, to catch up to where the History Manager was. I haven't tried it, but I thought the History Manager can export to Excel as well? If so, you'd have all your items in one spreadsheet without much waiting. Who knows what they've done and if he can manage to duplicate his earlier results with the way they've now set it up? My hopes are not high. Things in the list don't seem to be in the page source, so screen scraping will require some high skills.
