I think M8 is great. I do notice, and am gratful for the fact, that his ability to wear older generation clothes is exceptional.
Her's my first render.
I know there's a few on sharecg and some hair products in the stores have them. I know I have one that came with the stalker girl hair. I don't know if any have been made specifically for G8 yet, but you should still be able to fit the cap from an older model to G8, then parent the hair to the cap (and set a smoothing modifier for the hair to collide with the cap)

One thing I discovered is a number of Genesis 3 males expression presets work great on Michael 8. That certainly saves me money.
My take on the new guy. Custom shaping with custom blender hair.
At first I thought I was having the "black eyes" issue, except in my case, Michael's entire eye was covered in a blue film. I tried playing with some of the recommended settings, but that turned the eyes bright white. I went back to the normal settings and the quick renders still showed blue film. However when I went ahead and let it render out all the way, the filmy blue cleared up. So if others are having the same issue, maybe just try letting the render go all the way through.

I like everything about him except the eybrows. I also think there is something wrong with the texture on his shirt (under left arm and middle bottom) but I haven't played around with it much to see if this is a fluke or maybe it is intentional distress of the material.
I've looked over the Victoria 8, Michael 8 & Olympia 8 Pro bundles. I'm not impressed. I only want Real World outfits. It appears Michael 8 has only one real world outfit while Olympia 8 & Victoria 8 have none. Guess I can save some money!
My other problem with these packages is the same as the rest. It's all geared toward younger characters. I'm 67 and wouldn't wear most of the "Real World" outfits most men get at DAZ. And I don't wear "old men" clothes either. just T-Shirts, tanktops, jeans and shorts.

There are quite a few 3rd party normal clothing outfits for V8 so far tho, far more than I've ever seen for any other figure matter of fact. Granted, I've only been paying attention since Genesis 2, but as a person who likes normal clothes, it's been refreshing :). I don't know really how the "average" clothing unfolded for Genesis, but I know that for Vicky and Mike Generation 4 and below, normal stuff was far and few between.

Yeah, what the issue is (Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread - thank you whomever that was! :)) they pointed out that the Enable Smoothing was turned off. The "Basic Wear !Outfit 1" and the "Basic Wear T_Shirt" both load with the Enabled Smoothing turned off.
yesterday I bought the g8m expressions, head and body morphs and just took notice of the sale promo for yesterday and because products you buy no longer appear in the promos I'm not sure if what I bought was part of it but according to that promo had the option to pick up a freebie so did I miss out?

don't have any of them just got over excited what with my discounts and coupon as well as being released I grabbed expressions and morphs from the main sales page and didn't bother looking at the sales promos for any other deals, sent in a ticket but I don't expect to get anything and as I said I don't even know if these products I bought were part of that sale anyway though probably were as they were released day after M8

You can also pull up a different browser to check on sales like that. :) Like if you use Chrome you can pull up Firefox or Microsoft Edge or Explorer and check there as you won't be logged into your account. Or just pull up a new "incognito" window to look. :) That way you'll see all the items and it won't hide what you've already bought.
well the ticket I submitted makes me look like an idiot then :) just looked up via edge and those products I bought were not part of that sale but part of the M8 sale down thebottom as part of the related items section though sure they weren't there when he came out and remember other commenting and being unhappy they weren't, still I had those bonuses for m8 pro and 2 pro bundles didn't have well had pretty much everything cept for couple things in each think and even though coupon dodn't work on m8 pro it did on my seperate order with expressions and morphs plus the extra bonus so alls good

This is FW Quinton. I really like him, but that problem with the tricep seems to be showing here too.
I must be missing something as I do not see where I can download G8M starter essentials. It's not showing up in my DIM or as part of my M8 Pro Bundle purchase. So I do not have a base Genesis 8 Male character and when I load M8, i get an error message for missing files and nothing comes out but grayish square blocks.
Try searching for Genesis 8 Male in DIM. Download the two items shown in the attached pic.
IF that still comes up blank, you can always download from your product library in your DAZ Account. In your product library, search for Genesis 8 Starter.
thanks!...i actually found it - it's funny that it was just sitting there - like it didn't show up as an update or anything and of course I searched my product library and nothing showed up.
the g8 essentials changed updated few times prior to g8m coming out when it got updated the icon which at the time was called genesis 8 starter essentials was renamed to genesis 8 female starter essentials indicating the male version be seperated then when he came out it was renamed again back to genesis 8 starter essentials with the male and female in same location btw the poses in that male and female will work on either quite well
