Nice work Bob,
I found something out last night and I wish I'd known it earlier. Nobody told me that, to use Gen X properly, you need to load a blank Genesis first and then dial what you transferred! DOH!!
I did wonder why things looked different to how I was expecting
To quote a relative of Cameron: "I'll be back!"
CHEERS!
Not exactly this way! You don't need dial what you transferred. Sure, you first need transfer the necessary morphs to replicate a character in Genesis, specially custom characters morphs. You also need the Generation 4 and/or Generation 3 shapes for Genesis. After transfer the morphs using GenX you can follow 2 paths: create a character morph controller for the character which you want or convert the INJ and REM presets to work with Genesis. I prefer the last one, just my personal taste.
You can obviously dial in the transferred morphs, but usually you will do this if you want create a new dialed character. It is where GenX rocks. You get a lot of morphs which are not available for Genesis without GenX.
Besides the new morphs, the only thing you really have to dial in are the pre-requisite morphs. If you took Victoria 4, for example, and used GenX to create a new character morph you would need to first dial in the Victoria 4 shape before applying the GenX morph. This was one thing I didn't quite understand when I first started using it, and was scratching my head when I didn't get the K4 shape along with my Kaelyn morphs.

Oh, it is a good point!
Thanks,
I had all the relevant shapes and morphs and transferred them all just fine. I missed the bit where you load a blank Genesis in order to dial it to what you want. There probably are other ways to do it, but, I began in DS and continued in Poser by spinning dials and it's what I mastered. When you're good at something and it comes naturally, other ways seem somewhat alien.
That's what I love about 3D Art, you never stop learning, I just have a tendency to do it the hard way first
CHEERS!
Yeah, that does make sense now!
CHEERS!
...nice sunlight scene. This is what I did using Cloud 9
Very nice,
Very natural looking. The car might seem washed out, but, that's what sunlight will do.
CHEERS!
...especially in the desert with all that AO from the sand.
Just playing around with lights and postwork
@ Kyoto:
Yeah,
I will get round to full scenes, but, I'm having too much fun creating people to put in them.
CHEERS!
Very nice,
Reminds me of a game cover.
CHEERS!
Thanks, was sorta going for the cover(book.game etc) or movie poster feel
...excellent, and I second Rogerbee's comments.
This is the kind of stuff I like and like to do. As I mentioned in the past, I used to work in traditional media so the style of a piece is just as important as it's composition and underlying theme.
Photoreal is somewhat overrated for me unless you are into doing CGI animation like this (and have the Zlotys to support the hardware and softare to make it happen):

...then it's really cool (make sure to view in in HD mode).
...and if you read the comment below this is just part of what will be a full length feature film.

Yeah that is very cool - have actually seen that last year :)
