Gaah! Trying to create a decent looking ocean in DS is maddening!

Trying to use d-fromers on a large plane is driving me crazy! And attempting to put a procedural displacement that looks right creates a nightmareish surface not resembling an ocean!!!

I found a Poser ocean primitive on Rendo, going to grab it next payday.

Back to the giant chicken, I guess....

If you have a copy of Poser installed the Wave Deformer (Object -> Create Wave ) is good for a ripple or ten

I have PPro 2012 installed but it's near impossible to use on the laptop display..

Maybe I'll cough up for a keyboard and monitor this weekend, I'm getting tired of squinting at things.

It's Monday in Texas and not so hot
I didn't sleep well so I feel like snot
Cold pizza for brekkie and diet Coke
If I eat any more I might just croak
My mood is mean and my eyes are red
I'm sorry that I ever got out of bed
But I'm getting happier even as we speak
I only have to work 3 days this week!!!

you can also do oceans and waves in Carrara if you have it, and possibly do a passible one in Bryce with the deep terrain editor

After bills, I had *just* enough money for the "Breaking Waves" product - so I bought it! (red face)

It will make a suitable home for my kilometer-long pike and a few Viking longships.. heh heh.

Oh boy my turn to have a modem meltdown and spend hours on the phone to telco headdesks. Wonder if there is some modem fail flu going around? Ours died, RIP. Took ages and much telephone tree-ing to find a telco shop with the right modem in stock. Turned out it was the store in the next street *headdesk moar* Random Australian trivia: the biggest telco store in town doesn't answer phone calls, you gotta go there to find out if they have what you want. I get a text message when the NWS issues a weather alert. This morning my phone chimed at 5:57 AM to let me know that they're predicting severe thunderstorms in our area from Tuesday through Friday this week.

Sucks for the holiday and I appreciate advanced notice but did they really have to send it out before 6:00 AM a full day before the weather is supposed to hit.

Heh, well, true - being within a block of burgers, subs, and bbq makes up for the crummy view! I can just put a nature channel on the TV if I want to watch greenery and animals.

I wish I could email you a cheeseburger!! (sad face)

New render in progress, testing out some of Xfrog's plants :3

Hm... The bump on the biguana seems a tad extreme, but I tested it in a Material Testing scene and it looked just fine. I guess it's slightly rough/strong (As it should be I suppose), but the lighting and camera model is making it look a tad stronger than it actually is. I hope when it clears up more it'll look better.

I never used this camera model before. "F250CD" it says. A Fuji camera? It's less saturated and tinted slightly pinkish. I liked the effect it gave though.

Teeny tiny Biguana :3 Did it shrink or is it just a toy? ^^

That doesn't sound like nice friendly Bryce. Normally it says welcome, come in and play.

Trying to make a Kelf which is a blue kitty elf. They are not based on Avatar, but a combination of kitty, elf, and blue.

    ...very nicely done.

...sigh, looks, but no replies to my thread about monitors. Checked just about everywhere online I could think of now and still the two I found at Newegg seem to be the best deal out there.

If I order today I probably would have it before the holiday.

Wish someone with a bit more tech expertise than I have would reply. I know what VGA is but those other formats, I have no clue.

Can't find the thread, but HDMI is for audiovisual devices, VGA, DV and mini DV are standard video card connectors....
...my GPU does have DVI-1 support as well. So it looks like the ASUS unit was the correct one as it has all three - VGA, DVI and HDMI whereas the Dell monitor has only VGA & HDMI. Interesting because the Dell monitor didn't have build in speakers.or a webcam.

As to my order, I received an email from Newegg that it had been processed and will ship out today. So barring any enroute delays, it should arrive on Wednesday as So Cal is just one shipping zone over from Portland.

...crikey hit a blistering 96° here yesterday, 1° warmer than in Austin and 20° above the normal temperature for this time of year.

Yeah as we cook like a CPU doing a 3Delight render with lots of transmaps and reflection out here (supposed to get up to 99° over in Spokane and 108° in Boise) the east coast looks to be in for some very soggy days ahead.

It's just weird that it was hotter there than here - nice day, less melty today. mid to upper 90s all week, mostly survivable.
