Anyone got ProBundle yet? The Pro info says "Jogger", the Basic bundle says "Jogger". Is Sheriff included or what other thing is there instead of that "Jogger" that appear twice?
OK, now it says Sheriff in the "whats included tab" but still jogger in the text block, one step ahead!
Fair enough. It's basically how David, Freak, Hiro, and Girl started out. Though, I'm more formal about these things. If it's a Gen character, I use the initial and number standard. Though, if we do by chance get a Girl 6, then I'd have some specifying to do.
Looks like we are geting Girl 6...
Ignore the description and go with the What's Included tab. The description seems to be copying what's in the starter bundle.

.........
Well damn, that was quick! ._.
I wonder how successful the realease of Gia will be on the heels of the super-successful release of Victoria 6?
Yeah, I was rather surprised we were getting another base character this quickly... My wallet certainly isn't ready. :/
Is anyone else here finding the Alanna Hair a bit odd? The hair mesh itself is messy at the end and the textures seems warped...
Yeah, something seems a bit off with the promos... haven't decided which bundle I'm getting yet, though.
This actually makes me wonder what this might say about a Stephanie 6 and Aiko 6, especially how Aiko was the fantasy girl for Gen 5. Those two are pretty much guarantees in every generation since Gen 2.
She looks quite like Rhulana of Kurkum from Drakensang (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ezff3hKEiI, http://en.drakensang.wikia.com/wiki/Rhulana...). I was a bit disappointed to see a figure, because at first, I jumped on my feet as I thought there's something for Gia Hair (it's lovely)...
I don't really do Amazonian or generally muscular females in my work, but Gia looks pretty good so I'm on the fence about grabbing the bundle. On the one hand it's always nice to have more morphs since I'm rather lacking those for G2F (I've only bought the V6 starter and morph bundles so far), and I may need the UV set for future compatibility. On the other hand I'm not sure as to how much use she'll get in the end.
To her credit, the face is gorgeous and might sell me on that alone.
Decisions, decisions...
I went ahead and got the Pro Bundle. What is the price supposed to be? Is there a difference for Platinum Members, because the email didn't indicate that.
Yes, PC members get a discount.
Price is showing for me as $61.23 as a PC member, as opposed to $87.47 when logged out.
It seems like to me that Gia not only serves the Fantasy fighter, but the reason why they stress fitness with her is because she also serves to fill the Muscularity Morph for G2F.
If that's so, then I can only guess what they have planned for the male version, if necessary. Males are the more muscular gender overall so one may not be needed, but then again, the Genesis Evolution: Muscularity morphs were meant for both male and female characters. That and this would be a perfect opportunity to really but some hunkware out there to help balance out the game.
Muscular morphs are also available in the morphs pack released early on. I'd argue they do a better job if you're just after pure muscle definition. Still I did pick up Gia in the end, picking up the pro bundle simply because it was excellent value. Even if I don't use the character much, it's still useful to have the UV set. the outfits and the added morph options.
Ok, I'm confused.
If there's one character that screams warrior princess (In low menacing tones) it's Gia yet she doesn't get a matching outfit. Instead she gets that stupid "pole dancer in seedy strip club in redneck county"...thing, honestly? I mean seriously if ever there was a need for metal bikinis and leather thongs this was it, but now those are conspicuously absent. What gives?
And yes thank you for noticing I do NOT like that "the Sheriff" outfit one bit...
(I'm not much for the metal bikini style either but for Gia it seems fitting somehow..)
@Machieltje
I agree the Gia pro bundle is overly safe and largely off topic. A Jogger? LOL
Why ANOTHER UV map? Surely the V6 or Basic Female UV map could have been used?
The new UV is to cater for the muscle shapes otherwise you get a little bit of stretching. It's minimal to the average eye (very little change) but from a technical viewpoint, you can see why it was done.
Girl 6 should finally give us a UV Map that accounts for larger breasts. Unfortunately, I doubt there will be any skins that take advantage of it other than the launch skins, since that's what happens with every other custom UV mapping DAZ has released outside of the Vs and Ms...
I have a hard time wrapping my head around the tech side so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Can the textures created for Gia be used on other G2F figures? Or since the UV mapping is specific to Gia will it not work?
It can be used on any G2 figure:) Just like Fiend texture can be used on V5 for example on Genesis1. It's no different than using a V5 UV set on V6:) They still work.
I've been saying that for awhile. The tush may need some love too.
Any texture using the Gia UVs will work on any other G2F figure as long as you have Gia installed.
Awesome, Thanks for the quick reply Zev0.
Thanks Willowfan
ROFL it may prove to be a bit "later" then now LOL This is DAZ3D, you should know DAZ Soon is figured in surely a larger time scale then seconds or minutes *snorts* but she is going to be here....soon! Rescuing Buddles takes some time though :O)
A day is like a 1000 years.....oh wait that's God......Nevermind : )
A day is like a 1000 years.....oh wait that's God......Nevermind : )
I thought it released in the middle of the night like most things so from when the post was created it was like 4 or 5 hours I thought :O) So not toooo bad. And not our fault...first she had to find Buddles and then try to get all the pennies back from Sassy. These things take time ;O)
WooooHooo! Gia showed up about 2am. We had coffee and we made a deal. :D And now she's in the process of moving in to my runtime!
Bad news: no more pennies :( *heavy sigh*
I'm not the least confused. To me i looks like the (new?) Daz marketing strategy. Collect a bunch of more or less related stuff into a bundle where enough of the included items attract a large number of customers to be attracted by the discount offered. Thereby increasing sales.
By the look of the renders it's a joke to state that this ('base' ?) character release is "The ultimate female warrior" when the 'Genesis 2 Female Body Morphs' include (among others) "Bodybuilder, Bodybuilder Details, Bodybuilder Size, Emaciated, Fitness, Fitness Details, Fitness Size" which combined in any user desirable way makes that statement a whole lot more believable.
Before Genesis there were distinctive base characters, with Genesis most regular shaped figures share the same apparel without any problem so to state that this quite regular female is another 'base' is utterly ridiculous in my pov. Yet another UV map does not change that as we will probably see a lot of characters created for Genesis 2 Female using the base uv map, thus making the materials compatible with all ('base'?) morphs as well increasing their usability...
It is stated that "she can share most clothing, hair and morphs with Victoria 6", has anyone tested if any of the included clothing won't work with the Victoria 6 morphs and the other way around, what of the currently available clothing for Genesis, Genesis 2 Female, Victoria 5 and Victoria 6 does NOT work with Gia?
The most probable problematic I guess are shoes, in particular shoes with (high) heels. The starter bundle includes the Jogger with it's Sneakers, the pro bundle also includes the The Sheriff which includes boots, both are heelless and I would be surprised if those did not work with Genesis 2 Female or Victoria 6.
To me, the bundle does not include enough interesting content to make it a deal worth taking and I'm done 'saving by spending at great discount', I may (probably not) decide to pick up the (base ?) character Gia to be able to create compatibility morphs for my own products, but I may very well wait until it's offered as a Fast Grab, or maybe (most probable) disregard it as just another character I don't *need* to have.
