...that was bad to show me. I love Shadowrun, but cannot get swept up in a MPRPG online. Of cours, I ''e still 3rd ed as I love the colour of the world then and there was so much that was never explored before they jumped to 4ED (which was nothing more than an MPRPG in P & P format).
Pink Mohawks forever chummer.
It's not an online game. Single player only, no multiplayer at all.
If you ever played the original Fallout it's very much like that. You walk around the world fairly freely but when combat starts it goes to turn based with each character having a set number of action points that they can spend to perform various actions.
I'm not positive which ruleset it's using, I'm guessing 4th edition but you really don't need to know SR at all to play at least at the beginning. They have a selection of archetypes to choose from (Street Samurai, Mage, Shaman, Decker, Rigger) or you can kind of roll your own.
I've only played through about the first hour or so but I have to say that so far the story really feels like a SR story. To be expected since the head of the company is Jordan Weisman, the guy that founded FASA and helped develop the original P&P game. If you look at their staff list you see a lot of ex-FASA people.
Art wise it's kind of cartoony but it looks like you'd expect it to look. Story wise it's pure ShadowRun, it starts with a flashback to the end of a run several years before and you'll never guess what happens ;).
The best part to me is they provide the tool that they used to actually make the game. You can use all of their artwork and create your own adventures which you can then share with others - that's the only "multiplayer" aspect of it.
They're working on a Linux version and they already have a Mac version as well as the PC version (If you buy through Steam you get both Mac & PC). They're also working on a new Berlin campaign. I haven't checked out any of the community created content yet but there are already several out there.
All in all I'm liking it so far, for a sub $20 game it's really well done. It's not a fully 3D rendered world needing a state of the art gaming rig but the art does it's job and evokes the world. The story, which is everything in an RPG in my opinion, is typical SR but that's what I want from a SR game and it's well told.
....mmmmmmmmmmm beeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr aaaaaghhhhhhhhh!
Had my interview today, seemed to go pretty good. Figured while I was trapped in downtown may as well hit the brew fest going on on the river front (Hate crowded buses). Had a great time, sampled some really really nice ales from other parts of the country (as well as from here [Oregon] which are created only for the festival) and met some wonderful people. Made sure before I went there to eat hearty, stopped at this cool burger joint I came across and had a really great Burger made with Cheese. Maybe there's hope for Portland yet when it comes to good affordable burgers.
I'm officially jealous!!!
Well, tonight on the way home it's a microbrew rid at the mini-mart, then home for red hot links and beer! :bug: Tomorrow it's a new cell phone, new shoes, and a haircut (I look a bit shaggy).
Tonight my first vacation money goes on the debit card! Gotta save uo! I want to make hotel and flight reservations in four weeks! :ahhh:
Hiya Cho! Pretty good, keeping busy and haven't done anything CG/3D in forever. So hard to believe that my youngest is going into the 10th grade and my oldest is working at Wal-mart!
How has things been for you?
It's Friday, Friday! And you've gotta get down on Friday! :cheese:
Only complaint is, I had to come to work. :P
Non-complaints: money in bank, can have beer now, and I get to leave work early!! :cheese:
Yum, smoked bratwurst and cheese for breakfast! :cheese:
I've been playing around with them and I'm finding a lot of uses for them so far. Working on a car render where I'm using the goop shaders as the body paint.
I will say they're hard on the ol' render engine though. Since they're based on SSS it's not surprising but depending on your lighting expect long render times.
This was just a test using pretty much all goop shaders on CyberM4. With no lighting at all and the default render settings it still took 5 minutes to render (with the default textures the scene took less than 20 seconds)
i tried the kettlebell workout with a Kathy smith dvd last night. couldn't keep up with the warmup. doh
tried following upper body segment. i wish she would do one slow so i could see what she's doing.
my buppy was getting excited when the kettle was swinging, tried to bite it.
I was exhausted yesterday.

Been fine. As you can see I somehow managed to umm volunteer for a different role nowadays. My youngest Son (also a member of this forum) is currently studying for a BSc and teaching degree at Uni and, if he continues the way he has been doing, is projected to get first class honours, which is not bad for someone who left school at 16 because they couldn't cope with his dyslexia.
I need to make today more productive.
Very cool Cho! Yeah, I did notice the title above your avatar
Congrats to your son! I wound up home-schooling my oldest son the last 2 years of high-school because we kept trying to put him in AP courses because he was too bored with the regular courses and the school just refused to work with us.
Minor whine: nothing I want is on sale! :blank: How annoying. :blank:
I an only fit 3 6-packs into my backpack. This means I have to choose carefully when I go to get microbrews tonight. Urgh.
Time to invest in a bigger backpack! :smirk:
next weekend, buy a new backpack and a second rolling suitcase. Tomorrow I replace my dying cell phone with a nice, basic, simple cell phone. I need longer battery life, not Web browsing!
Need to see how to get my tablet PC through TSA, I want to take it with me to Portland! :cheese:
*edit* Bought some marble shaders.. should prove useful! :-)
Just thught I'd share this, in case anyone is struggling to make really bad art:

All you need to know! :vampire: :snake:
Yep, dead at the office. Bunch of folks took today off, 1/2 the factory is shut down, and the boss is out for a long lunch with the management team. :blank:
BUT - got some blogging done during lunch (w00t) and have been thinking about doing a few character studies over the next 2-3 weeks for all my illustrated series. I need Vicky renders, steampunk renders, Rebecca Delacroix renders (Dark New Orleans serial), and even Olaf and the Shield-Maiden! This all AFTER the War Vixen/Zombie in the Eyeball Tentacle Garden, of course.
Geesh I'm tired. I think I'll go straight from the bank to the mini-mart for beer, then home - I'll take cre of business over the weekend.
Lunch n an hour - turkey burger patty with cheese!!!! :cheese:
I'M STUCK. help!
i need to nest one more Iif. if repair tag begins XF (as opposed to XFL) then text "-"
been trying for 2 hours but parenthesisies messed up somewhere. my eyes are fatigued now, can't see it
IIf(IsNull([cldate])=True,IIf([RepairTag] Like "*XA*","Ticket Open - click to Close Repair Ticket",IIf([RepairTag] Like "*XFL*","Ticket Open - click to Close Loan Ticket")),"Closed " & [newown])
I'll break it down for you
IIf(IsNull([cldate])=True,
IIf([RepairTag] Like “*XA*”,“Ticket Open - click to Close Repair Ticket”,IIf([RepairTag] Like “*XFL*”,“Ticket Open - click to Close Loan Ticket”)),
“Closed ” & [newown]) <-wayward Parentheses</p>
Manman: the superhero with all the powers and abilities of an average Earth man. 'Cept he's got a Uniform. :)
it says i'm missing a parenthesis when i delete the last paranth
if it doesn't meet the 3 truths, nulldate, XA*, XFL*, it should be giving me the 'false' text, it should be evaluating XF as 'false', but it's not.
wrong arguments errors, etc.
manager's meeting is Monday. only got 2 hours to fix it. was supposed to be a quickie update, doh,
starting over.
if close date is null, ticket open, else ticket closed
IIf(IsNull([cldate])=True, "true", "false")
I can't wait for this movie - SAND SHARKS!!!!!

GO SHARKS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :snake: :snake:
When I went to California to take care of my dad's property I brought my laptop and it was no big deal. I just had to open the carry case and show it.

Yeah, research says it's pretty simple.. sometimes they want it in its own tray, but no real hassles. I'll take it and my charger, my camera and charger, and my cell phone. All the electronics I should need for the trip.
Can't you use a CASE statement (or Switch or whatever it's called in Access)? Nesting like that is tough to read for you, how do you think the next person is going to like it? Inline statements shouldn't be nested too deeply like that.
If you must, though, try breaking up the statement at each condition...put a line break and indent. That might help you see where each one ends.
Dana
I am trying to decide if i want to munch on some carrots.
That solution leaves out the other test conditions, XA* AND XFL*. That is why I suggested a CASE statement. You are using VBA, right?
Dana
got it! each Iif needed a true and a false. fyooophew
=IIf(IsNull([cldate])=True,IIf([RepairTag] Like "*XA*","Ticket Open - click to Close Repair Ticket",IIf([RepairTag] Like "*XFL*","Ticket Open - click to Close Loan Ticket",IIf([RepairTag] Like "*XF*",[newown],"falseF"))),"Closed " & [newown])
Looks like a truly terrible film! Should be fun.

thanks!
Select case would've been less of a headache in the long run.
i was evaluating in an unbound textbox on individual continuous records. when they click on the textbox, events will fire based on the text.
i wish there was a way to hide a button on a record by record case. conditional format will disable it, but can't seem to hide it.
Too late? Noooooooooooooo!!!! :ahhh:
2 whole dollars shot to hell!!! Oh the humanity!!!
...Well it was just 2 bucks. And it was your fault, KK - out boozing it up 'til late! Eating burgers made with cheese! (so jealous now  )
...well the event ended at 9:00PM (that used to be "late" for me when I had to get up at 4;45 AM) but it was waiting for and riding a bus home which took nearly an extra hour. Actually let one go by that was pretty much standing room only and not because of the event either (that's how bad service has become here lately in that buses are oft crowded even well after the peak commute times due to frequency reductions).
ironman made a kid drop his ice cream with the superpower of awesomeness
Haz an awesome stingy thingy
...don't think i want to know about that.
...is that Eric Estrada ("Ponch") playing the Sheriff?
...is that Eric Estrada ("Ponch") playing the Sheriff?
It sure LOOKS like him, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised.
I wonder if I can find the full length SHARKTOPUS online? That'd make a killer movie for the weekend!
Only one hour before I can leave, then 2 hours after that - it's BEER TIME!! :cheese:   :cheese:
