Ok, last drop of the night! This is the landscape where WAR VIXEN will combat EVIL ZOMBIE!!! Note screaming cliffs, eyeballs, and yes of course TENTACLES!!! The tentacles are totally gratuitous, but you knw, TENTACLES!!! :bug:

Render time was 15 minutes or thereabouts. IDL light, DS stone shaders for the cliff and ground plane, Poisons Tentacles from Rendo, Poisons Eyeball Garden from Rendo, IDL Sky from Predatron Skies of Reality.

Omg I missed this, lucky you quoted it and made me search back for it.

Wicked scene man, I was curious how you'd work in the tentacles, the blend in very well looks awesome! I could almost picture superhero-warrior-pornstar War Vixen fends off against the zombie mobs and tentacle plants in the misty darkness of midnight :cheese: lol anyway looks awesome, I looking forward to the battle

    Awww, thanks! :red: :red: :red:

I feel wonky enough I'm not sure I'll have a complete scene by the end of the day today. I have laundry to do, so I'll be working on War Vixen during that time, but I need to play with different ways to save custom morphed/dressed characters. I'm thinking that saiving War Vixen as a scene file, then merging into the eyeball/tentacle scene, would be the best way. I'm modesty certain that saving a character won't save clothes/weapons/etc. (but I've been wrong before).

But you all WILL get a WAR VIXEN render!!! One way or the other! GO WAR VIXEN GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :smirk:

Ok, it's Sunday, it's almost Noon, and it's COMPLAINT TIME!!!

    - It took 30 minutes to catch up with this thread! :ahhh:
    - War Vixen vs Zombies is harder work than I thought if I want to do it right :bug:
    - I have 3 bags of trash to take out and I don't want to go outside
    - Still feel off (no surprise, I have 3 more days of antibiotics)
    - Fish oil capsules make for iffy burps :red:
    - Probiotic fiber chewables working.. a little too well.. :red:
    - Slept until 10:30am today, dang
    - Could use a beer but alcohol reacts with this antibiotic and could mean an E.R. visit

    Non-complaints:

    - Very happy with eyeball and tentacle render! Glad I invested in the various Predatron light sets!!
    - CHICKEN WING SUNDAY!!! :-)
    - Mild sausage pattys and coffee for lunch.. yumm.. pecans for dessert!
    - Learning a LOT about lighting and posing and surfacing in DS 4.6, I'm pretty impressed for a 'free' app
    - Getting ued to content searching in DS 4.6, it's no Finder but I got it to locate all my non-metadata stuff at long last
    - Eyeballs and tentacles int he same place, I mean, is that Heaven or what?!?!?1?! ;-P
    - EMOTES OMG FINALLY EMOTES!! :P
    - No chat for 4 days.. rendering and reading instead. LOTS more fun!

Ok, time to get dressed and drag out allthe trash, then *sigh* get the laundry going. It won't do itself. Then tomorrow at lunch a trip to Wal-Mart to load the prepaid card so I can get some organ music tomorrow night! I'll start in on War Vixen nexxt... heh.. :smirk:

I always save my characters as scene files, no props or sets/backgrounds just the character and their hair. And if I upgrade them either with new morphs or refined/altered/new textures and shaders I save it with a version number. That way if I wish to backtrack I can always do so. And if I want clones of the same character, I just open(merge) their scene file with the one I have open.

Example of my saved character scenes:

    Gn-Spyro-v11-GH
(Figure- Character name- Version Number- Garibaldi Hair OR hair)

Mind you I must be formal naming my saved characters cos I have HEAPS lol
But I've never saved as character files largely because I like to fit them with hair and often save them with outfits for use on WIP scenes.

That sounds like a good approach. I'm trying to develop a stable of characters for each project, and it seemed to me that using DS's merge function would be about the best as I can load/tweak/merge once the basic character is finished.

I've made the mistake of creating a character in the middle of a scene and.. ugh..have to delete everything else to re-save, why bother, blech, character lost in effect. This time I want to do it right! :cheese:

? I thought you said your notebook could see the smileys?
NM. Memory failure. Reboot. Yep. I was able to return to previous versions of FF when I was using it, maybe you know how to do that.
Also: Even auto updates should always ask for permission. Who wants it to happen when they're trying to use the computer?

...no, they show up fine on the workstation but not the notebook.. Have no idea of how to roll back to 20.0.

[just had a momentary outage and had to restart everything again]

It's kind I like I get half of what I need on one system and the other half on the other. I rechecked the basic settings in the tools/Options menu and everything is exactly the same between both machines so I don't know why I am getting different results. Adblock has the same preferences, Better Privacy has the same settings, Flashblock has the same settings.

I don't think it is Stylish as that is only affecting DA to block the annoying "View more like this" feature (and it doesn't block the smilies there). As a matter of fact this is the only site where I get the text rather than the actual graphic.

As to the misdirecting issue on the notebook when I try to submit or view a post I have absolutely no clue since again all the basic browser and security settings are the same on both systems.

Actually, you seem to have skipped a version. I'm running FF 21. I can post, and I see the smilies. The smilies, however, may be due to the "cloud" issue, as they are not on the DAZ3D site. For a while everyone had no smilies. Now it seems to be back to the old some do, some don't scenario.

...OK something really really stupid is going on now as the text to an entire post which I entered simply kept vanishing with nothing showing up either in the submitted post or the preview window.

It is getting late and THIS IS REALLY GETTING ME IRRITATED!

With the web console opened after clicking Submit Post on both systems I saw to different sets of instructions on the two machines.

I am unable to reproduce the actual code from the web console here, either by pasting or even manually typing it in using the "code" tags as for some reason doing so apparently conflicts with the forum software which kept resulting in the blank post. I would think "text is text" but it seems not the case in this instance so I have to try and explain it verbally (which I'm not really good at concerning this kind of stuff).

On the notebook where everything went fine the final instruction and the normal posting operation is carried through with the software assigning the value of "whitelisted" to the "status" variable

On the Workstation it inserts the statement "customer account index" for a variable "class' (which does not appear in the successful operation on the notebook) after which it then assigns the value of "whitelisted" to the "status" variable. From what I can tell, this is most likely the cause of the constant redirects. and failure of the forum software to post a response. I have no Idea what could be triggering this as again all my FF and add on settings match on both systems.

It's now 04:45 and I'm really frustrated and tired from all this. Will most likely end up sleeping half my day away tomorrow. I am at the end of my rope with this whole mess as I cannot find anything amiss with my feeble knowledge of this junk. I'm not a bloody IT specialist, I just use these stupid things however, it's beginning to seriously get in the way of what I'm trying to do here creatively.

Time to try and get some sleep provided I can unwind from all I've been dealing with tonight.

I wonder if DAZ3D's software is blocking multiple connections under the same account login. Try logging out on one machine, the one that posting and smilies are working, and log in on the other machine...and see if you can post. Then do the opposite. Then try logging in on both and see what happens.

I've been active in the forums since around 2007. I'm the Invisible Man. I've decided that's my avatar. Although, there are one or two others that are invisible, too, so I guess I'm not special. Nothing new there.

It varies considerably, especially to states.

QLD tend to be fans of XXXX Gold (Dad lives there)

NSW is often VB, Blonde and Tooheys (I'm in NSW btw)

Vic is most certainly fond of VB

    Don't know about other states.

Yeah, it always asks me. And even when I click the button, if it warns me that something is incompatible, I can click on the back button in the dialog and click the remind me later button.
