Here is the clown figure test.

Next I need to make the city.

That's a pretty creepy looking clown you have there! I can see why people could get a clown phobia.

Thanks, your poster is awesome, I'm going to have to make him outright frightening i think.

Here is my city scape. Played with a few different cloud brush to see if I should even have clouds, which will be rendered if I decide to.

This is Carrara! Use volumetric clouds! ;-)

If i use clouds they will be rendered, i was just doing a quick test to see if i like clouds in the image, and if they should be wispy oy fluffy,

Gotcha! I was just poking a little fun.

If I am allowed to post early, this will be my entry for the Challenge. I will be traveling and won't be able to play around with this any more. I don't think the formula idea is far enough along to enter.

If possible, when the time comes, please move this to the entry thread.
Entry Title: Psychotic Celery in Scotland
    Artist Name: Diomede64
Summary Description: The phobia is fear of vegetables (and Scottish clowns), in the original list. With that in mind, this is a silly tribute to the king of vegetables, Art Frahm. I used the non-photorealistic renderer. As a hat tip to the heather of Scotland, I wanted some purple. The text modeler was used for the titles and credits.

Link to at least one WIP Posting: this thread, earlier WIP.

List of all created or significantly enhanced objects:
The celery was made in the plant modeler by extending the trunk and reducing the branching and leaves. I made the kilt, sweater, shoes, socks, and sash in the vertex modeler for the Scotsman. Ditto for the V4 clothes. I retextured the Genesis face to be a clown. For one of the render categories, I made my own brush.

    DAZ Shop items:
Genesis, V4, and the Jason hair.
I used Ron's scratches for one of the render brushes.

Enjoy the holidays or holiday of your choice, everyone.

I have an idea for combining two phobias. I may be pushing the limits of good taste, but I think I can pull this off and remain within the TOS- I hope! ;-)

I had a little time to work on my idea. This is far from complete, but it gives a flavour of where I'm headed - Fear of Flying - The Trials of a Fledging Angel. My vision for the final version is that the angel will be on a high building with city buildings spreading below. Any suggestions and feedback welcomed at this stage.

I think that is going to look really creepy and cool!

Are you planning to underlight the face to emphasize the scary expression?

That looks like it could be a cool concept, Phil.

I was just trying it with sss and I didn't like the look. I was going to try directly above, but will try below too.

Love the girl on the wrecking ball! Too bad we can't do that to Miley, eh?

Here's a concept I'm working on for another entry. I'm leaving the text off at the moment.

I've been working in LightWave a lot lately (I still think evilproducer and Dartanbeck are on my front lawn with pitchforks and torches :ohh:).

But today - I promise! - Carrara gets fired up to work on my entry.

I think I may keep some elements my second poster, but redo the majority. I had some thoughts last night as I was sleeping that I want to play around with.

Here's a lighting, replicator and shader test. I can see that I will need to reduce the size of the water droplets. I have a hair figure that I'm working on that looks wet. I eventually want to place a particle emitter or two in the in the scene to spray the models with water.

Thanks, I have another goofy idea, I may do. I have to get to some renders I'm behind on first though.

    Hi,
I've been busy and I missed the previous contest, I really wanted to enter this one. :-)

The theme of my render is the Triskaidekaphobia (fear of number 13, as you can see here). I read this term when I was 4, in the title of a 1969 italian Donald Duck story and I never forget; now it's time to use it!

This is a basic WIP, I have the full idea but I've just started to work at it. First of all, I needed a door and I created it from the scratch in the Model Room; on the door I put a number made with the Text Modeler, then both was used as base obejct for an arc replicator. I will now work on the shaders, then will make real object instances from the replicator, then proceed with scene setup.

Not too much so far, I just wanted to give a a first idea of my entry. I will post soon a more complete WIP and my base idea will become clear.

Neat. I was wondering if someone would pickup on this phobia. It will be interesting to see what you do with it!

MicioDue, looks like you're off to a great start!

I reworked the ladies element of my latest idea. I added a particle emitter and wet maps on the models. The shader for the water is my own.

I suspect that there is a cypher here and "water" is the key to cracking it open...
