urg.... I wanna do something - but I don't know WHAT! I really dislike having an 'undefined' urge like that... like the programmer didn't do the library correctly or something, so the subroutine call just wanders off into no-where and sits; generating error messages.

That doesn't sound too pleasant, hopes teh doggeh is a little better by now :)

yes - seems to be :) thank you though!

complaint - I *seem* to remember that DS (the newer versions at least) supports having the DS files in the same folders as the Poser files (displays only one icon and loads the correct version)? Is this correct or just another mis-remembering?

I ask since, because of said crappy memory, I go to great lengths to organize my library into something where I can *find* things, and having stuff separated because it is one version or the other tends to make me forget I have something (or, at least, where the heck it actually *IS* - which in some ways is even worse)

Yes, it does -- it displays the icon with a scroll symbol in the upper left corner to indicate that it will use the DS-format file instead. It doesn't work for .daz files (although there's a trick for doing so) but works for other DS fie formats.

You can delete the middle part and just leave filename.png -- I don't know why they get saved that way.

(in the code) someone forgot to basename() the path prior to passing it to the "save image" routine ;-).

Morning. Occasional sunbeams breaking through oily-black clouds not doing much to warm a cold and overcast day so far - less than a hundred sleeps to Spring and still momentos of summer surviving amongst wintery brown and gold on bush and tree in our garden :)

morning ps1borg. its another slow day in the complaint thread. rain is moving across Tennessee and northern Alabama again. Mid-Atlantic states are supposed to get rain on Sunday or Monday.

It's taking me most of the week to get this worked out, but that's because I kept changing and adding/deleting things (and I also had the volume settings on the camera set WAY too high  ).

This is a follow up to my last little tidbit image.

Looks like Reld and Sam finally found the mysterious figure spotted some hours before, but they sure don't look happy about that....

whoa great Fyre, I'm sure Redid has something up Sam's sleeve to get them out of trouble there :)

I usually just flail about in the Content Library until I find what I'm looking for or give up. :)
If I don't find it, I'll run across it by accident about a week later...and by that time I've completely forgotten why I wanted to find it in the first place. :smirk:

That is the case in my runtimes, imported as "Poser Runtimes" but I'm a couple of point versions behind :)

Ugh... I may have just messed something up and now half of my files are missing textures when I load them in. And I'm not at all sure what I did either.

ETA: The weird thing is, all the missing textures has the file path of :content/content/runtime/textures. Not content/runtime/textures.

ETA2: Ack!! I'm missing morphs too, including Samuel's Gen2 morph and all of my Dragon morphs. >_<</p>

Did you manually extract the zips and get a second nested folder named Content? If you move everything inside the second "Content" up one level you'll be fine.

I do have a nested content folder but it only contains Mec4D's beta test files for her fiber hair and puppeter poses for Michael 4.

What happened was, somehow, on the content library selector, I had two Daz Studio formats. Something that got set up when 4.0 came out or something. I always used the second one, as that had all my files. The first seemed to only have a couple old files. But I was trying out a tutorial and suddenly I only had one Daz Studio formats. It wasn't until I went to load my scenes that I noticed that everything was missing.

Alright, Genesis still has Samuel's morphs, at least. I can use GenX2 to re-transfer it it back into Genesis 2 at least. I may have lost the dragon's morphs completely, but I'll recreate them.

Yay!! Fiancee fixed it. He fixed my content folders. He found the folder that was missing and now all my saves work again.

Backing everything up now to an external drive.

No, it was originally done so that you could safely have a scene and a preset (.daz and .ds?) with the same name in a single folder and give each a unique thumbnail. It's still possible to save legacy (.ds?) presets and .duf presets to the same folder, so again there may be a need for having two different items, with distinct thumbnails, but with the same base name.
