It's 84 right now up here in my city. We had a high of 88 today. But it wasn't humid!

ke-thud... overdid it at the gym today. Legs are still shaking. Need to sit and rest before resuming art. Discovered this morning that I had accidentally saved over a scene... need to recreate that now T_T

Morning. The sun is out, at least a pale bit of yellow behind grey clouds for a change. Ironically just got home from an all night edit session to get the job finished, have to go to sleep for a while  *waves* zzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm told that's one sign of high blood pressure.

my bp is within normal. learned in my cpr training class :)

the top # is when you start hearing the heartbeat through the stethoscope, the bottom # is when you stop hearing it.

There's another thought, something Dr. Oz said on a show a few weeks ago. Something about a low level of something in your blood that makes your heart beat faster to get more of it to the brain and extremities. I can't remember what it was...I want to say iron, but I'm not sure.

A low potassium level can cause tachycardia (fast heartbeat). Doctor told me about that.

Do you have a stethoscope? Can you listen to your own pulse with one of those? Plugging anything into your ears causes you to hear your pulse a little bit already. I don't think self diagnosis can work well in this case. A better method would be to use one of those blood pressure monitors you can buy at the pharmacy these days.

Are we a bit of a worry wart DanaTA? As far as I know everyone can hear their own heart beat in there ear if that ear is covered and has a little pressure on it. There is a major artery/vein right under both. Hearing it has nothing to do with High blood pressure in 99% of cases. I'm more worried over the fact Misty had a mini stroke or TIA as they are called and refuses to see a doctor over it. You do not need high plood pressure to have a TIA just the proper thing wrong for the vessel to thin and pop. As I said before my EX Sister in Law, ex from passing away after a major stoke, was diagnosed as have having at least 11 TIA's before the big one hit her. None of us ever knew she had them there were no lasting signs like a NUMB Immobile Lip with her. The effect fully cleared up. They suspect they happened in her sleep and were gone before she woke up so none ever noticed. Misty needs to see a doctor.

Well, the end result of my participation was just that...see a doctor. She's had numerous things she's complained about now. It's piling up and shouldn't be ignored...and shouldn't be self-diagnosed. But I'll not say any more about it.

Don't stop trying to encourage her to see a doctor, we all should do that. I just found the heartbeat in the ear thing a little odd, saying it was a blood pressure issue when it more than likely is not. That's all I was pointing out.
I'm crippled the rest of my life because I personally ignored well intended people who often supplied me with info that had zero to do with what was really wrong with me. After a few fixes that did nothing I ignored everybody and never saw a doctor myself. Biggest mistake I ever made, so far.

Oh, you're right! You're exactly right!

And yeah, that one put the "Gotcha!" on me last year, LOL.
Someone should definitely kill coupon announcements that are out-of-date. Two years? Sheesh...

Yes, I'd say two years is a bit long to not have done some house cleaning

It is too hot in Raleigh. I am at starbucks drinking water because I do not think anything else would help me feel better. They would taste good but water is best to hydrate myself.

you need electrolytes to rehydrate. something like gatorade.
...yeah but all the other stuff in it (like High Fructose Corn Syrup and various artificial ingredients) is really bad for you. Energy drinks are worse as they not only have Caffeine (which is a diuretic), but also Taurine which is bad for your heart.

as near as i can tell, the system isn't designed to catch ya before ya fall.

when i hear sliding scale, my blood runs cold, my brain translates it as they taking everything you have left. not that there's much, but i like being able to buy stuff.
on the other hand, can't take my runtime to the other side. if they give choices on the other side, i want to be assigned to help the buppies.

complaint: am helping my relative troubleshoot his Windows 8 tablet. some trouble shooting guides say: "Click the start orb, then click control panel or run." Um... the tablet PC doesn't have a start orb. Some say: "Press Windows Key and R." Uh.. the touch keypad doesn't have a Windows Key. :p I'll write the authors an e-mail if I can find their addresses.

A few years ago my doctor was trying to get me on meds for high blood pressure. Around then is when I first noticed the pulse in the ear on my pillow. It may have been there to a much lesser degree, but it's not something I ever paid attention to. But it became more prevalent. I tend to think that most people don't really notice it when it's not enhanced by high blood pressure, because it's something that's always there in the background. Things like that you get used to and ignore. It's only when they get more pronounced that you notice and ask questions about it, like she did. I remedied mine by stopping ibuprophen. I had been taking two every day to mitigate inflammation in my knee. Then I was rear-ended on an exit ramp, and had pain, and the doctor prescribed 800mg. of ibuprophen for the pain, and complained about my blood pressure. Then a friend suggested I look into what ibuprophen does. I found that it, along with all NSAIDS, has a particular side effect...elevated blood pressure! I stopped taking it all, and just put up with the pain. When I returned to him for a follow-up, my blood pressure was acceptable to him. I then chewed him out for not thinking about the NSAIDS side effects. He admitted that perhaps he should have considered the ramifications, "...but not everyone reacts to medications in the same way."

I am keep getting calls from a number. I finally answered it and it said that I have a grant of X amount. I do not know much details about it but something does not sound right about it. Why would I receive just phone calls for a grant if it was real? Won't it be coming in the mail instead of keep bugging me with phone calls?

Sounds like a phishing scam. I advise hanging up, and blocking calls from the number if they persist, Kulay.
I don't know of any grants that you don't have to specifically apply for.
